Some arcade machines tried it, like a Star Wars one from a few years ago. But if I recall, it's projection. Very immersive tho.

youll find if you use a 3 monitor eyefinity setup, the only monitor that will actually display youtube is the middle monitor, so no, it would be incredibly useless for youtube, your other two monitors would literally display empty webpage space, im telling you this from experience

tbh this setup done right is the most sci-fi gamer thing out there, the chair with KB+M makes it. Definitely worth it. Only missing a football field to move your mouse around on.

my OCD kicked in when I realized you have the monitor that is curved differently, on one end, instead of right in the middle.
it also has a much lower resolution

i probably would have put it in the center, just because it has the highest refresh, then even if the games were sorta stretched, at least the center monitor would look great at speed

I think I really enjoy these kind of videos from LTT. The more normal videos are fun too, but it's just really entertaining watching something that's either ridiculous, dumb or stupid, and that it's not actually that practical in reality.

There are programs specifically for this, it automatically switches from 1 screen to 3 screens (or whatever you choose) when you're not in a game.
Racing games or something like Elite Dangerous are the only things you would want to use this on.

I think it was because it was also the lowest resolution one. I think there would have been more surround problems if it was the central monitor. I may be wrong though, it would be an interesting experiment.

When you get one more of Nvidia’s 65 inch big format gaming displays from another company please try to set them up in a triple monitor configuration in either 4K or 1440 at 144hz. That would be a pretty immersive experience. I’m pretty sure you all ready have an HP omen one and a Asus one so I’m guessing someone will send you another.

They sell floor stands that mount on the back of a TV. Unbox therapy used a set of TV stands in their ultimate racing sim setup video to hold up three 55 inch TV’s. If they did that it would be the ultimate racing sim at 144 hz.
Fun experiment! I wonder how this experience would be with the current generation of 49" panels that have a much tighter screen radius. The Samsung G9 for example has a radius of 1000, the ones shown in this video have a radius of 3800. You would need an U shaped desk I am afraid though.
I have this with 3 34" 144hz, entire cost was under $1100 and i love it because if i ever decide to go back to two monitors, i have a free ultra wide for another setup

max digital resolution of 2080 Ti according to Nvidia website: 7680 x 4320. This could have had something to do with the issues you are running into.
Is it per output or all combined?

8k is actually more total pixels than the set up here. (5120×1440 times 2) plus (3840×1080) is 18,892,800. 5120×1440 times 3 is 22,118,400.
8k resolution (7680 x 4320) is 33,177,600.

I commented on this video a few years ago asking if it were possible to do this with iRacing. I made Micro Center prove it was possible and then built a NASCAR chassis around this configuration of monitors. Sim Racing with triple 49 is amazing!

Speakers do that too, they can make sounds appear really close on the sides and far in the center if improperly set

THIS is why you want a different resolution within the same render... periphery rendered at 480p while main screen at 1080p... would help with you strain and you can't really see peripheral stuff too good so low res would be great but still would feel awesome in a racing game, seeing the side without turning camera and stuff

any kind of triple monitor gaming only has one place where it makes sense and the headache is worth it, simulation games. In sim racing games, triple wide monitors allow you to look further into the corners to spot your apex and drive towards it rather than reacting to the corner as it comes into view with the fov afforded by a single monitor (or even most ultrawide ones). This will actually make you a faster racer. For sim driving games such as ATS or ETS the triple screen fov allows you to see out your side windows without turning the in game camera, thus making it more immersive and easier to paly because you simply turn your head to look out the window instead of taking your hands off the wheel or wasting the limited keybinds you have on your wheel to manipulate the camera. As he said though, most games aren't rendered properly for this setup outside of the sim world, creating some wild stretching effects on your side monitors.
7:44 try holding the windows key, then pressing the arrows. Windows 7 was when this feature was implemented as “Aero Snap”. It is actually much easier to move windows around and resize them using keyboard shortcuts :)
