    I like the idea posting the different specs, I know you can pause the video but may I suggest leaving them up for a second or two longer as unless you are really quick it doesn’t give much time to pause

    I dropped all the other car channels for this one. Even if I am from Germany and the trims are different to the models which are presented here I am very glad that you don’t try to tell me constantly how much better VWs or Audis are. The reviews are spot-on and well presented by Sinéad. Toyota thankfully stepped away from the pretty dull designs of the last 15 years.

    Thank you for the great job of describing the pluses of the Toyota Rav4. I just bought an XLE in the USA and I love it.

    Spec panels worked really well. Sinead should always point to them though. It looks funnier paused. Hands down the best car review chanel on RUclips.

    I got a big laugh seeing the feature list a week after I suggested it on the Zoe video. I did not get lost this time, but my brain froze for a moment :-) Thank you!

    Great idea to post the specs, though it highlights for this car that there are a confusing number of trim levels. Have seen lots of this new RAV4 on the road already which speaks for itself, however a good colour, like this red, is key.

    Nice! Such an improvement over the last gen. And funnily enough it never even occurred to me that Toyota made it in a diesel for some markets!! Ha

    can anyone tell me if the fuel consumption is as good as quoted? i am thinking of buying a 2019 one but might go for 2021 version. is the mpg accurate. ? I am a diesel car man and a bit scared of moving to petrol hybrid. although I have to say everything else about it I love. the inside layout is the nicest I seen in any car I looked at. including skoda audi vw hyundai kia etc

      Have driven it, and it is a totally fine ride. Pure hybrid doesn't cut it for me though, so Outlander PHEV it is for me. Too bad as Toyota is falling more and more behind in the PHEV and EV market.

    • @robc8593
      @robc8593 5 лет назад

      I am going the other way, from 4 years in a PHEV to one of these (most likely). Currently also Testing Lexus NX which is nice but the RAV4 was a better drive to me. These hybrids are a lot more agile and throttle responsive and ride much better than the Outlander from my testing.

    • @andersthorstensson4347
      @andersthorstensson4347 5 лет назад

      @@robc8593 Well, it's all about your circumstances I guess. For me, having a 26km commute to work a PHEV will save me a ton of petrol per year. The RAV will end up comsuming 0,6l/10km everyday use from my experience. I managed to drive the Outlander PHEV MY19 at 0,57l/10km on a 170km drive, 80-120km/h. Wife and 3 kids, so quite the load. Totally satisfied with that result!

    In Australia we do long country trips, and I don’t understand how running on the engine for hours on end results in anything remarkable with regards to economy.

    • @BruceHoult

      It doesn't. And no one is mentioning the fuel usage at 70, 75, 80 mph. I bet it's not pretty. The lower powered Atkinson cycle engine might get a little better economy in open road cruise than a standard Otto cycle engine (made up for by electric boost for acceleration), but I expect the aerodynamics let it down at higher speeds compared to even something like an Outback. A good car for real central city driving, with traffic lights or stop signs every 200 metres.

    • @robc8593
      @robc8593 5 лет назад +2

      Because a normal car runs the engine at different speeds depending on gear/road speed so a lot of the time will be running at less than peak efficiency. A hybrid runs the engine as a generator at set speeds independent of road speed - it can be designed to produce maximum efficiency, It produces too much power when running, so the power is stored in the battery and when its full the engine shuts down and the car is driven by the motors from the battery. By doing this the engine only runs for short bursts and only at its most efficient speed so fuel is used most efficiently at all times instead of just sometimes like in a normal car. Add in no need for tickover as battery/motors can handle creeping or pull away and regenerative braking to recovering back some of the power you put into accelerating in the first place instead of just wasting it on wearing down the brake pads and you can see hybrids can be more efficient that normal cars.

    I think the Mazda CX-5 has much better interior (especially materials used) & better design in my opinion. Though space wise, i will give it to the RAV4 slightly because it is longer. Otherwise very great car as well.

      cx 5's plagued with quality issues, dont touch it!!

    • @robc8593
      @robc8593 5 лет назад

      The Toyota wins hands down as a company car due to its astonishingly low CO2 which is why there is already a long lead time to get one, it even beats the CR-V hybrid and thrashes the CX-5 off the planet on CO2 as it has fairly old engines, the RAV4 would save a fleet driver a fortune in tax, which is why I have ordered one!

    Paying that sort of price for a fossil fuel car or Hybrid doesn't make sense. With that money you can buy ev or electric car which is much more economical and better.

    • @jimquinn6296
      @jimquinn6296 5 лет назад

      what new ev can you get for base (or second level trim) price?

    • @Geebvs

      ...and has triple lower range. No, thanks.

    • @Edvard.Munchkin
      @Edvard.Munchkin 5 лет назад

      Ya until you run out of charge on a run from Cork to Belfast. Ev is in its infancy and will be no good for at least 30 years. Diesel is still the way to go or if not, hybrid. Petrol are lethal to the ozone layer

    • @dingbatt
      @dingbatt 5 лет назад +2

      So which similarly priced EVs are you talking about? Cars, like the range crippled Leaf or tiny Zoe? Crossovers (small SUVs) like the Kona or Niro, which are more expensive and virtually unobtainable at the moment? An E-Golf that to get anywhere near the same safety and equipment features included as standard on the RAV requires a lot of expensive boxes to be ticked at the dealership. Or maybe the Model X which is both huge AND expensive. At least the X can tow. The RAV4 hybrid is one of the few hybrids or EVs rated to tow.

    • @RigiLiquid945
      @RigiLiquid945 5 лет назад +1

      True unless you live where EV range isn't enough, and you have stuff to haul around. For example, driving around in a small town all week in northern Canada, then going on a 1500 km weekend round trip to the city and back on routes where chargers are quite scarce.
