The Knives were not really what was needed to kill Damien, but rather a symbol. The second coming of Christ is what really was Damien's downfall.

While this might have been the weakest chapter in the series (IMO), it was still a decent movie. What made it work was Sam Neill's strong performance as Damien Thorn, and Jerry Goldsmith's awesome soundtrack. I especially loved the choir they used when Christ appeared on the last segment following Damien's defeat. Thanks for sharing this.
In the novelization of this film, after Damien is stabbed, he says "Satan, why hast thou deserted me" and then "Its over father, receive me back into thy paradise".

The usage of only one dagger is acknowledged in two sequel novels. because she only used one dagger, Damien's killer ultimately shits out (yes, really) his reincarnation, who tries to destroy the planet. One of his minions realizes that he's a false prophet and stabs Damien's corpse with the other six daggers. But then the second novel reveals he didn't stab him in quite the right place with one of them, allowing the boy to try again. He does, and stabs the daggers into a statue of Jesus (or something like that), but then the statue falls on top of him, impaling the boy in just the right place with all seven daggers, finally ending Damien's threat once and for all.
Personally I pity Damien. In the end he was a victim too. A prisoner of fate since the day he was born. Without the possibility to choose a path for himself different from the one that Satan and, ultimately, God himself, decided for him. A slave of his role, without real free will.
Only the body was in death..This is the first head of the beast. This mortal wound is later fully healed as mass genocide of all Christian followers. Only 1 of 8 daggers 🗡were successfully struck. Damien still lives until he is cast back to the pit ..

After having seen this ending for the first time in a while, I now realize the structure of this conclusion may have been borrowed from the Dan Curtis horror flick, 'House of Dark Shadows'. In both movies, the main character, the villain, calls out to challenge his enemy. An innocent life is snuffed out, and things look bleak...before the villain gets it in the end.

If God is truly the good and just God he's supposed to be, then it is his every right to sit back & watch us struggle with our lives. The Sumerians, the Babylonians, not sure about the Assyrians, but it wouldn't surprise me. Believing in gods was considered pretty normal in those days. And they existed before books were even invented.
All three films have novelization editions. They follow the film but with some interesting adjustments. There were two more books called Omen IV Armageddon 2000 and Omen V The Abomination. I have read the former and found it to be very poorly written. This novel centers around Damien's son, who was born to Kate through their fling.

As for knowing there is an afterlife, there are records of people dying, and being brought back. These people often have experiences called Near-Death Experiences b/c the subject did not die permanently. From these NDE's, we have countless stories of a possible afterlife. All three films have novelization editions. They follow the film but with some interesting adjustments. There were two more books called Omen IV Armageddon 2000 and Omen V The Abomination. I have read the former and found it to be very poorly written. This novel centers around Damien's son, who was born to Kate through their fling.

As for knowing there is an afterlife, there are records of people dying, and being brought back. These people often have experiences called Near-Death Experiences b/c the subject did not die permanently. From these NDE's, we have countless stories of a possible afterlife.
I've yet to experience one though. And, of course, there's the religious books who make such claims.

When you saw Jesus appear, thats what all the Christians saw when they were raptured, the rest of the world saw nothing except a mass dissapearence. So when Damien did finaly resurrect...ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE. He had people forced to take his mark to join him or be beheaded if they should choose to follow Christ. (read the Revelations for more info) This is why i NEVER acknowledged "Omen 4", That should NEVER been made.
I feel like this ending kinda takes away from the foreboding atmosphere that the trilogy had built up

this film should be remade i mean in the bible i think the world is already destroyed by the battle of armageddon it would be cool to see daimian giving the order to launch an airstrike on jeruselem or push the button im not condoning bombing isreal or anything i just ment thats in the book of revelation that the anti chrhist is supposed to attack jeruselum so it would seem more apocolyptican ending to do that but i thought sam neil was amazing

The priest should have known that all seven daggers are needed to kill the Antti Christ, otherwise, he would be reborn like in Omen IV Armageddon 2000(the novel)! That book is much better than the crappy Omen IV movie!!

When it comes to God, there are two types of revelation: general and special. General being how he reveals himself in his creations (my example). Special being miracles and direct appearances.
I find it a perfect ending precisely for its non-biblical simplicity. Instead of being formidably slain by Christ himself during Armaggedon, the powerful Antichrist meets a most ordinary death: stabbed by a woman in a dark corner, as in a muggery.
except the only explanation fir him being vanquished is that Christ Himself did the deed, since one dagger alone can only kill him physically
