  • Project "Covolt Blue":
We started with a two owner all-original 1969 Volkswagen Convertible and converted it to an all electric drivetrain. Yes, you can convert a convertible to full EV! It's almost like VW designed these cars for the EV world. And it is a ton of fun to drive.
    Motor: 144 Volt Hyper9
    Charging: 3.3 KWH Elcon
    Adapter: Flash Drive Motors
    Transmission: Original Volkswagen trainable
    Batteries: 7 Tesla Modules

Looks terrific! I'd love one of these or a Karman Ghia

this would fit something like a guilietta spyder so well! My dream car would be either that as an ev or a 60s mustang fastback

These cars are cute. However besides of being extremely unreliable they are unsafe by modern standards. I hope the battery pack is improving its crush safety as well.
How long was this car on the market is amazing considering it is a design contemporary to Ford Model A.
