- The next Kayak bass fishing tournament takes place on Caddo lake texas! It is early April, water temps in the upper 60s, and though the majority of big fish are done spawning, the new moon might have a new wave of fish pulling up! See how I put the puzzle pieces together to catch some quality fish!

It was such great fun to watch You~! Your knowledge and determination shines as bright as your personality (lovely too). I am also jealous (lol) because I lived there 8-9 years and fished both sides of Caddo. It has so much history I learned from Don Henley's RUclips video.

Awesome! You caught them good! I was there Sunday for my first time ever. Fished the NETXKBL event. I did terrible and ended up loosing my paddle while trolling to another area in rough water. Maybe I’ll figure it out next time I go there.
Wondering why I saw so many kayaks, was out there during this I had 5 fish for 19lb on texas side with a few smaller males also. You did really good 👍

Met Gene and Chad at that tournament trail. That was my first time fishing with KBF. I caught a few fish but definitely learned a lot fishing with yall. I’ll be fishing the State Challenges and Catch 22. Hope to fish against you again in the future.

Hey kristine! Awesome video. Just out of curiosity, what is the setup on your spin rod? Like what size line, leader and knot?
Im asking because I’ve just had some nightmares on spinning gear with large fish either breaking knot, or my drags not right, whatever. Ive tried to tie an fg knot and im so bad at it, I dont trust it so I try other knots. Sometimes they break. So i been doing an alberto knot with ok success.
I think mainly i just suck and whenever I get a 3+ or something on the drags not right and I lose it or break it. Ive upsized my line to like 16-20lb braid to 12lb fluoro. But maybe I shouldnt use a leader and use straight fluoro? As a kid i never broke fish off and I used 10lb trilene mono. Maybe thats what I’ll do!!!

Those fish will be in shallower water if the water temps are rising and the water itself is rising. If the water is falling then they will move deeper.
