great video, everyone arounf the country knew this was going to be one of the best events this year. great showing. Love that wake bait, i mod a tail on the end with a trick worm to draw the big girls out
Floated the river two weeks ago for catfish and fished for bass to make the time go by caught a nice 18” and saw a huge bass at the base of a tree in the water below Hoovers island
Great fishing Kristine! My wife and I are planning to fish from our Hobie kayaks on the Susquehanna this weekend. We hope to replicate some of your success. Good luck in your next tournament.
Can't wait to catch up on some of your videos and watch new ones from Hobie Worlds while I heal up from ACL surgery. Good luck in Sweeden with Ron and Brandon. Hope to see yall at at least one VOS event next season when my knee is healed up.
Kristine….you are awesome!! I was trying to do something similar…..though i didnt do it nearly as precise or clinical……i didnt mark out the spots, and accidentally spooked my fish cuz i couldnt remember if that was a spot; and an unforseen issue happened……..other kayakers blew right past some of my good areas as i was approaching and spooked my big fish. I caught a ton of little fish, and a couple good ones. I was using the rapala brat squarebill in the moss craw color…..I bought like 7 of them; they loved that thing, but i lost a couple fish before i got smart and swapped the hooks to duo realis nano hooks. Then never had an issue, those hooks actually went THROUGH bone on a fish and i had to use pliers on every one after that. I just didnt fish very clean or smart, and u gotta do both against this field. In the end, my big fish came at very end of day on a full hail mary bait i hadnt thrown at all during practice. sneaking back up to areas i spooked them hours before and throwing a berkley j-walker. Walk it a few times, pause…..explosion. At least i remembered my pfd this time though…..lol. Congrats on cashing a check and getting those points!!!!
I grew up in susquehanna pa muskie took over the river up there the smallies were food for the apex river predator. Not the case in the lower end of the susquehanna. Last june a day trip from windsor ny too redrock was a epic muskie trip. Things have changed since the dam at susquehanna broke .
Pretty good day all in all. That last 16 1/2 incher was just mean..lol Being on the water like you do when your there to watch the world wake up is one of the best parts of the day for me.
Gosh darnit Kristine! I've been binge watching your videos and came across one where you talked about a case in which you put your go pro camera so you can remove the battery and plug it into a power supply and it doesn't overheat. For the life of me I cannot find that video again or the slip of paper I wrote it down on. Thanks for your help.
Ok…PLEASE, PLEASE can you contact the company and ask them to let you do a demo video with what happens when a hook gets stuck in the raft? Been slaying the 18-21" smallies on a black and green popper for the last two weeks. Only problem is I am way up river in Vestal NY on the Susquehanna River.
The smallmouth walleye capital of the north east! One of my favorites, I live on the Delaware which is a steeper smaller version of the susqy. We have been seeing the big ones in shallow moving flats between 2 sets of rapids, same with the eyes. Nothing has been using eddy lines at all, exceptions of first and last light. The smaller numbers are coming out of the fast wash. The rule for PA during the HOT is fast moving craw actions. If they dont bite they aint there.
Would love to more about the yak you were cruising, looked comfy....and I am hoping portable on the fly (somewhat). But impressed with your slayer skills!
Another productive session. Great video. Would love to be a fly on the wall when Darren spots that double handle setup mate! Has he and and are you still talking
This was exactly what I needed before I fish the Championship Copple Cup in the Napra pro wading league. Thank you for the content my sister and fellow Angler God Bless you and yours🙏🙏🙏💙🙏🙏🙏👋🙌🤺🎣🐟.
Lately for day such as that one. Being larger muscled I get gased out too quickly in warm sunshine like that. And just eventually collapse. I did some initial research on good natural sources of electrolytes. For example, breakfast, supper and stuff that's very compact to carry (dried apricot, or a small quantity of sun flower seed).
For breakfast, I came up with avacado mashed with a fork together with banana. And some yogurt with blueberry mixed in. Put on toast or a fresh crusty roll. For evening, boiled spinach and things are super easy, and replace electrolytes lost. Almonds and even peanuts are good apparently. For on the move (all good in situations where I'm forced to drink a lot of water and I sweat a lot of those electrolyte trace elements out through pores of skin). A few small fresh tomatoes are easy to wash, and have on the go. Even high cocoa content 'sour' tasting dark choclate works too. To help the electrolyte imbalance.
It's something you'll have to do your homework in. These are only creative suggestions, that might work on the tournament fishing constrained time thing. You're carrying a lot less weight than I would (years ago when I cycled to work, I was slimmer). When you 'run and gun' in that way. My hunch is though, the shock treatment on the electrolytes balance from day one. Might be just enough to cancel you out day two. So it's essential one gets creative on this dimension. Lastly, people have all mentioned the soft drinks intended for the purpose. And there are also some excellent ones now. Where people carry the small packets to dissolve in water. In hotter countries like France they use there. In the British Isles though, we're unaccustomed to any heat at all (it is mainly, a lack of heat problem). That might even increase this winter. Cities in German cities turn off electrical lights at night right now. So they have enough power generation to keep the factories up and running.
Even a few years ago, this would have not been a concern. Altough back then, I had various fruit yogurt drinks and stuff. I used to get me through the middle of a day. Lately though, I've been wondering if there is a way. To go with mostly plain water. And small amounts of dried fruit and nuts that I can carry. Some have told me though, the problem with an electrolyte imbalance if it happens bad enough. Is the recovery time it takes, to get back from that point. Is not insignificant. I suspect that a lot of anglers are very well conditioned, and have natural in-built stamina. And to some extent I have that too. What I did notice, doing my large shrubbery garden and lawns this year. At the old home place. Each weekend, is that I could gauge the impact well. Of a few degrees increase in temperatures on performance of muscles and stamina (where a week previous in cooler temps I had no problem). You add those last few extra degrees. It went over a tipping point real fast. And how to prepare for that.
You reach some point in that, where water to drink alone. In enough quantities. Is not enough. We've never had that kind of heat here. But lately, it could get that way at times. And it's raised a whole lot of questions (both to do with getting older, and doing high performance stuff). As well as the neglect I would have had in knowledge. Of this subject anyway. When I played football years ago. It was recognized back then too (if we had to save our best players, for games close together in summer). We'd substitute them off the field. Ten minutes before the end. Or a whole half if needed. They didn't like it, but we knew they'd run themselves into oblivion. And not recover in time for the next games otherwise.
Fresh tomato, with sunflower seed. Really not that bad (acidity of tomato and the opposite of the dry seed). Not a bad mix. With Avacado and banana mix, I'm tempted to say a chunk or two of fresh, cold ice cream in there. Could work in summers too for the athlete. And lest I forget it, melon was a fruit and source of electrolytes. I had underestimated for years I think (melon is attached to the idea of desert and luxury a bit). In many parts of the world. But it's a genuine source of healthiness that can be useful too. For endurance and performance.
I love the vids and I really want to get into kayak bass tournaments I have a NU canoe frontier now but was wondering what kayak you have? Keep up the great work I have been watching for about a year and a half

I won’t ever fake anything, including frustration with how I fish and mistakes that I make. I am not one bit ungrateful.
In life, in the moment, as much effort you put into fishing and the know how you do have, what fish bite and don't bite you have very little control over. When there is know one near you, you are going to catch all that is possible. The sport is not about "a trophy" but about how grateful one is to be able to be there in that moment that God allowed them to be. You being there is a sign of grace from God above, not the devil below. So, psychologically you compete with yourself, not with other people. You strive to be better then anyone else when youre already good at the sport. Thats pride!... But God wants one to be grateful and appreciative. As The Word says, "...pride before the fall." If you're going to be prideful, then there will be a great fall. Don't get mad at me... if you have faith in God, it's His Word that said that. Have pride in God, The One that allows you to do good in what you love. ...and the fish that he let's you catch. I am also a lover of the sport. I don't take it for granted. Much love and tight lines, K.
Kristine I've been following you for a few years and appreciate the effort you put into achieving what you have while keeping a humble and truthful attitude. People who fish can be harder on themselves because every bite is a chance to do everything correctly to land the fish. You may be competing with yourself however you may possibly just trying to be the best version of yourself that you may feel you can be. Stay calm in your head and trust your instincts. Keep your Mental Health awareness. ..Just be yourself. Love all you do to support the sport and the effort you make to share real truthful situations.

Hey Steve! I’m a big fan of the inflatable, and you said the main reason why- it is SO quiet and stealthy!
Great video. Need to get yourself a micro power pole so you don't get pulled into your spot after you hook a fish.
Agreed
Nice!
Cool video! I’m terrified of water but I want to get into kayak fishing. How are you identifying these spots as holding large fish?
Do you think the inflatable kayak kept you from getting those fish to the boat ? I would think you have less leverage than in a regular kayak.🤔
Did u make a day 2 video?
where can i find the rules on those kayak fishing tourneys? I'd like to get in there, mix it up

Was that a hybrid hunter you were throwing ?
Don't want to put you on blast - just reminded me
