I am wondering what a week long cold front will do to the bass in Chicago area? I know water temp but when would you say most northern Illinois bass spawn???
I agree. Had a week of mid 70s day and mid 50 degree nights two weeks ago. Bite was insane. Fast forward to this past week of consistent mid 50s day and upper 30s night. Bite disappeared.
🍺My MLF heavy hitter picks which I listed on your channel (3 in each group) Group “A” 1st,2nd, and 5th and the two biggest bass. Group “B” 2nd,5th,and 6th and the two biggest bass…🤔Good start..🤑🍺.
Unfortunately for me, I really don’t get the chance to fish post spawners. Bass opens late June, by that time they’re already long done. Thankfully, they’re still pre-spawn right now up here, so I can still peg a giant pre-spawner on Lake Ontario. Gotta focus on my cold water technique’s. 🤙
🍺Matt please google/search “ Is that big smallmouth male or female? The answer may surprise you”… It will take you too an article from Dr Gord Pyzer May 22,2020. It is a short read about one of your favorite topics (big smallmouth). With your background I want to hear your response to his research. 🤔Very interesting article and very cool if true.🤷♂️
@@MattStefanFishing 🍺Perhaps someday you can share. I want to feel like I’m talking truthfully about northern smallmouth and this article confuses me somewhat.🤷♂️Did you enjoy the article?
I caught an absolute toad today on a weightless wacky rig, a 4 inch alien green worm in water with some green stain/haze. What a great fight! She was under some flooded brush and I just skipped my bait back to her. She inhaled it on the fall.
Just watched a couple of your older vids showing off the Hula Grub. Just curious if you didn't just find the perfect match for your new Hover Rig? Combination of tube and creature in one killer bait.
I really enjoyed this video, packed with good solid information to help all of us but I think the Hover rig would also fall into this category of very productive baits in the areas you have mentioned!!!
Do one for cold front largemouth fishing in spring
good suggestion!

Im thinking the new best post spawn bait will have a hoover rig in it! Thanks Matt

Where is that global warming I keep hearing about? It was 33 degrees this morn, brrrrr!

There doesn’t seem to be many times when a wacky rig doesn’t get bit . Hard for those bass to pass up an easy meal
