I’ve been watching these little trucks on other channels and now yours. It’s really a sweet little truck! You really can’t go wrong doing these upgrades on the cheap! It turned out to be albeit a nice little ripper and probably an even better basher! Great video Richie! 🔥🔥🔥✌🏻😊
Just be wary those Banggood 60A ESC's have a tendency to catch fire on 3s randomly, a few weeks ago mine just started cogging out of nowhere before catching fire. I've seen other reviews saying the same thing happened. Use them at your own risk but if you do, have them set up in a way that you can quickly rip it off your car before it burns down with it.
Sorry Rich but The DumboRC has a range of upto 500m not 300m. That's 500m left plus 500m right. One kilometre in total. On a good day it will reach over 650m. Tried and tested. Epic truck after the convention 👊
@@SPEXWISE It's a tiny dot but we have a light on the front and back of the car's to help on the speed run's, but with the 1/8,,,,, 1/5 scale it's possible to see them still "especially the dust trail being lifted behind the car". It also depends on the area you use. The DumboRC is perfect for speed run's as it's incredibly fast and the Gyro is brilliant. Without expensive and special radio gear for ground vehicles,, you'll not find another radio that can push the limits of our vision. I think Tomley RC has a video of him testing the distance in a huge valley where it got to the point where he couldn't see the car even when he was fully zoomed in. Kevin Talbot swears by them too as it's his favourite radio that he uses on 95% of his car's "including the Traxxas XO1" which is a 100mph car. It's rare to go to the maximum distance but it's 100% possible 👊
I know that but I've tested it at that range and the car's like a dot on the horizon., I did not want to say 500m and get shot down in flames, it's hard to win. 1000ft is the best my eyes will do, mind you with my 3s wltoys 124019...on 4s1 More to follow!!!!
Those surpass combos are great for the money. Keep in mind you only used a 3300kv one, if you want speed you should try the 4000kv+ version, or a slightly bigger pinion.
I did a 5900kv in a Q901 even cheaper and faster. Js love this rc too! I'm like to see everyone know how easy it is thanks to everyone making the best rc's for less.
130 pound converted aint to bad but so much better cars around for the price like the flyhal 610 thats is 65uk pound from bg with free shipping and comes soild metal center diff system aswell and comes with oiled shocked and 3wire servo only downfall its slow via the brushed system but videos on RUclips shows its does 60mph.... My favourite cheap budget rc is a remo 1631 it does over 45mph its a monster across grass on 2s its a 1/16 beats and beats 1/10 models of much higer price tag and never once have it broke on me yet apart from the esc.. a car on a 60amp esc with a 2440 size can doing 46.6mph madness.... I would of chosen wltoys for best budget brushelss conversion but as you know rich every time you take one out it breaks haha... But that bonzii did look so easy to convert lol
Sorry mate but it's NOT a $35 conversion as the servo is $17 and the dumbo $33 so it's actually a $85 conversion or at the very least $68 as I guess you don't have to change the servo BUT you do need a radio and the dumbo is definitely the way to go,so really it's about $70 to convert to brushless which is double
you DO need to change the servo as the stock is with 5 wires and the new esc needs a 3 wire servo , yes its a ~90$ upgrade . ( it did that with my 124018 but at least i know it's a good platform and the initial cost of the car is half of this one).
@@darkki94 yes you're quite right about the servo, that's me being brain dead 😆 But I do think it's a bit misleading to say " brushless conversion for $36 when the actual price is $85 all in. They should have said that you can get a decent brushless motor/speed controller combo for $36 ,not quite the same thing
@@DriftomaniacsRC why you having a go at me for pointing out that you have mislead us on the price. There is nothing wrong with your video and it was informative and good . I'm subscribed to your channel and enjoy your videos BUT it clearly DOESN'T cost $36 to convert it as you do need a servo and transmitter so just tell the truth on the price in the first place instead of throwing your toys out your pram and giving nasty replies to your viewers for making a perfectly valid point
Shit, if your already dropping $70-$90 for upgrades, might as well just grab a wltoys144001, probably faster out the box and comes with everything you need... just me though.....
35$ for the motor + esc , 35$ for the dumbo and 20$ for a servo ... i'm not good at math but that's ~90$ and those shock are about 30$ at least + the car itself .. that close to 300$ mate ... that's the price of a 120A JLB Cheetah and close to the price of a Arrma 3S .
Fair point but how many of us don't have a spare servo or RX sat around, and as for those $15 buck shocks? As for the JLB Cheetah? I've an 'EXB' one sat in the barn just awaiting you people to decide what power plant goes in it!

I’m really liking the Bonzai stuff coming out. 👍🏻🍻
Thanks for making this! I'm trying a slightly different but similar build out on mine soon!

I miss your content Richie. I hope you start making vvideos again soon

How on earth do you see your rc car at 650 metres away? It's an amazing range but surely it's out of sight at that distance?

3300 is excellent for speed. It's not about kv, that's a rookie thought.
Proper gearing.....
@@traviscozza7177lol rookie thought.
That's why i also mentioned bigger pinion!
Rookie reading and comprehension.
Where do you get replacement parts for it diff gears efc parts that wear out.

It's not £36 though is it by the time you buy the radio gear and the servo it's nearly £100🤣
But to ne honest the 36$ conversion actually is like lil over $80 if ya factor in new receiver plus servo
