It's amazing !!!! We used to have to spend near $1000 just to get close to 80mph... The hobby is advancing and that's 👍 good!!!
Michael Koebbe holds the WR at 156mph with a 124019 and it's insane to watch 🤯. Great job showing everyone clearly what to do 👍
Yeah… it’s mental! Although I prefer to keep things looking as close to stock as possible. The Tamiya speed record is also up there above 150mph… but the car looks nothing like a Tamiya anymore. But full respect for achieving that sort of speed!

With 3s the car was insanely stupid almost uncontrollable but a quick $40 fix get yourself the Traxxas 1/10 scale belted tires and you will actually be able to drive it and control it
It’s not entirely honest to say there are no upgrades, even if they’re all WL parts.
Yes and no as he does explain that what he means by stock is wltoys parts and no special upgraded parts from other companies.
All he's done is use the stock v2 motor and just put a different pinion gear in and changed the wing and added droop screws and wheels and tyres from a 144001, Pretty much stock really
@@davidmellish3295 Not everyone has spare stuff laying round that matches up though. The title has just confused 50% of commenters just getting into the hobby mate.

We have different definitions of what you call stock. Its more of a "Modified" with Stock parts from different models. Definitely not a stock car.

Strange definition of "no upgrades".
Truly, I have a LOT of respect for WLtoys. my return to RC was with a 104001. VERY fast, handles well, and honestly its pretty competitive. You can even upgrade it to race spec because it fits a few different brand's parts or is close to a few others. for 150 bucks its hard to beat... gets you started racing for so little. :) ive since upgraded to a b74d but I still love my 104001 and drive it sometimes.
Yes, they are really good for the money. And most of the time, if you crash…you just pop the links back on and away you go haha
I mean, the 104001 is a cheap clone of an XRAY XB4 2016. Of course it's going to do well on the track, it's based on the car that won the 2016 IFMAR World Championships. Granted, the materials on the 104001 are kinda crappy, particularly the super-soft chassis plate. But that's an easy fix (not by buying the carbon fiber chassis from WLToys, though. You'll want the XRAY chassis braces and maybe the milled 7075 chassis as well).
What shock oil do you use for the front and rear please mate ?

How to set the breake on these buggys? its stock 100% and the wheels lock very easily on breaking. The programming box is not available for months now. Do you have other options oder boxes?
Mines fast but I guess I'm gonna sell it . Can't keep cvd's in it . Even on 2s something breaks everytime I run it . Spend more time waiting on parts to come in than I drive it
I like my 124018. I bought extra parts after breaking stuff. Took a while to get, but it's ok. I stocked up pretty good. Mostly front end!😅

Hi Tomley, got my V2 today but it has a copper color mount. Motor is 4300kv and radio wheel is blue. Im confused coz I thought V2 should have blue motor mount
They have probably changed back to the standard colour mount now. The 4300kv and blue wheel are V2, so should be ok 👍

Hey Tomley, greate vid. Right now I'm upgrading my wltoys/lcracing "truggy" and want to cut some $ with just using new spare wltoys receiver from their brushless models. Can you check for me, does old wltoys 144001 radio (with red status light) pairs with receiver from that new brushless wltoys?

I am a rookie in RC, just bought a couple of MJX 14210 to race my family in the backyard and WLT 124017 is on the way BUT I was somewhat impatient and ordered two Lipos S3 3300 mAh in ahead but now they don't fit to MJXes. Can anyone measure if it will fit for WLT 124017 ? Battery is 13,5 cm long, 4,3 cm wide and 2 cm high.
Traxxas: "You can do 70+ with our cars. You just need an aftermarket pinion and some chassis weights. That totally counts as out of the box, right? Right?"
WLToys: "Well, we won't officially say our cars can go 70+ but you might be able to get that speed with just a 3S pack. Oh, you did? Good to hear!"

I upgraded my wltoys 124019 to brushless I tried 3s it was erm abit too quick for its size lets say I had some fixing to do haha ❤
Don’t hit yourself with one. I did. At 78mph I hit myself with an axial exo terra. I couldn’t walk for a couple days and couldn’t move my foot for months. It hurt. Very bad.

I bought a v2 version but car wont move just the steering works. On the box it says 45a for esc ppl said v1 had 60a esc and v2 has 45a esc and doesn’t support 3s so how is your car running and everyone on yt aswell but me please help

Just did 92kmh on stock everything with 2s Lipo today. But it looks like just a GPS glitch lol. My actual current pb is at 78kmh on stock everything. This thing is beyond its advertised speed, love it!
The top speed now is at least 145mph by RC Speedrunner, maybe over 150mph by now, I can't remember. It's hard to believe those tires aren't blowing. Thanks!!!

I love this car, it's so smooth and fast. Not many adjustments needed to go fast either. I just got my 1/14 monster truck not to long ago and I upgraded it with the 144010 Brushless setup and it's a beast. It's also very smooth and fast had to learn how to break because it would front flip on full brake. Definitely a big fan of Wltoys products.

I love the124016 - I've made some dodgy mods to toughen it up with homemade bumber and lots of hot glue to protect arms etc. It''s fast, handles well and takes a beating. Great vid - these are the things that make the hobby so much fun👍

Yes, but sometimes you loose some front end , most of mine lift at about 80, so I prefer a bit of ‘rake’, and then it will lower slightly once the downforce kicks in

the locktight on these is no joke! crashed mine soon after buying it and broke the rear diff, getting that out was... fun to say the least haha, ended up replacing the motor + the plastic tray plus the motor mount after breaking off every screw attached to that thing!

With the 124017 with some drive trains setup and dumbo rc radio. Goes really well on carpet track. Great handling and smooth.

You would think WLtoys would use that nylon rear wing on all their cars instead of those poly carbonate ones. These cars, They are quite awesome ! 70+ mph!

I find too much over 70 and the front end wants to lift up and flip the car.
So If I take the 124017 and insert a bigger pinion (27T or more ) I'll get more speed.

fastest rc car per dollar ever. much faster than the arrma road cars in that way per dollar spent. amazing speeds for stock electronics.
