Awesome work with the SDC, we also found your channel by watching you making foundation as we were looking at a set of rolls. Great vids a sub from us. Cheers Alicia & Steve.
Mate awesome work just got my sdc yesterday went over an area this afternoon that I'd hit hard with the gpx and found so many pallets that I missed previously can't wait to get back out tomorrow thank for the video👍
I like your approach Les. I have had my SDC for about a week and have been out twice but am still waiting patiently for my first nugget. I am very much enjoying using the SDC 2300 though. Out again next Saturday in the Bathurst region.
What do you think 2 years on? I personally just have a Vanquish 440. I hired a sdc a couple of days ago and hate it. I'm not convinced it's much if at all better than the 440. Definitely worse in some ways.
@@UK-Bluehave you found gold on the 440 mate? Every detector has its use sdc takes alot more operator knowledge then detectors such as the gold monster 1000 and vanquish series. different detectors have different applications.
@@kayn3634 I found nothing! Babble time.... I was over in West Australia from the UK... I'm back home now. I got used to the sdc, I liked the fact it ignored a lot of background iron.... but that's about it. It was so bloody heavy even hanging it with a bungee off my rucksack. I had bought a tiny .288 gram nugget to test with for the 440. It would detect it a few inches deep, and about the same depth as the sdc. So.... The only disadvantage with the 440 is it got more false signals from background iron, but not too much hassle. But the 440 will ignore a lot of iron... and if you do get a fairly positive signal while iron is off, then I turn iron back on to see if I then get a definite Iron So in conclusion... No fkn way would I spend thousands on a sdc, when a £300 440 will find comparable size and depth gold with only slightly more false signals. And the weight issue is vastly important too when outback all day for weeks. Fk the sdc I say!
I've picked up pieces half the size of the 1st piece you got with my gpx5000 with a 12" evo on it, perhaps the reason you missed it comes down to the settings
Not really. There are so many variables. Type of ground, moisture content of the ground. Depth, how the gold is lying, emi on the day etc.I have also picked up tiny pieces with the 5000 with the 12” evo but have also missed quite a few.
Hi Les. I have been using my SDC on Sensitivity 5 and Threshold 1 and finding lots of small shallow pieces of gold. Do you think that being on Threshold 1 would cause me to miss out on deeper targets?
Hi Philbo. I don’t think there is any perfect setting. I believe you need to set your detector to suit the ground and conditions that are in front of you. Having a low threshold setting can mask really faint signals but if there is a reason for having the threshold that low, then that’s what you have to do. If you are running enhancers, using headphones or external speakers, adjustments will obviously be made to get the best out of the equipment. I would suggest experimenting whenever you get a signal coming through. Try different sensitivity and threshold settings on each target before you dig it. You will then get an indication of what works best for your hearing in the ground that you are playing in.
I couldn’t pick that second target as a signal, great work.

I love those tiny nuggets Les. I can hardly see them and always have my reading specs at the ready. Great video! Thankyou.
I always close my eyes when watching videos like this.
Thanks for sharing.
I just subscribed too.

Enjoyed that video Les, it proves some points to friend's of mine :-) thank you for sharing mate.

👍
Just found your channel looking at making wax foundation for my hives, i then i found your detecting videos =D you have the same 2 hobbies as me!
Sweet. It is an unusual combination of hobbies.
@@lesgold2132 Well how cool is that there are more beekeeping-gold hunters out there like us to well done guys.

Big change in threshold, you wont miss that.
That's what I thought all really clear signals

Thanks Les. I appreciate your advice
How can I get this machine
Just Google it and see what comes up
Do you have your sens on 5?
When ever possible, ido
The SDC sucks.
Just buy a 440 or something.
Many people would agree with you. Unfortunately, it still finds a lot of gold.
