One year ago today, I forgave the man who hurt me and found healing from the Father. Forgiveness made a way.

A few years ago my mom sold her house & I went back to help her pack up. I had lived in that house from third grade through college. As I lay in a sleeping bag on the floor of my old empty room, I thought about my experiences in that house. Joys, pain, cold wars, whispers in the bedroom, eventual divorce. As I lay there sobbing, it was like I washing away the sting of those memories. Thank God He blessed me with a loving husband of 35 years and 6 great kids. I can forgive and II am redeemed!
My dad drove up to see my sister, my nieces and I this weekend. This year I have decided to forgive him. I resented him for a couple of years and he would ask about me. I know deep down he has emotions but they were taken from him as a child by abuse. I have finally learned that I can't change him and that if anything he needs our forgiveness for his own demons. For the first time in a long time I felt peace and compassion all over me and was able to give him a genuine hug and kiss. I didn't feel no anger at all or resentment and I was so happy. We went out and spend time together eating and joking around. I was happy to be enjoying time with my family. He told me he loved me and even though his love is limited to his selfish narcissistic ways I can say that's enough. What's enough is that I love him and that I will pray to God for him to one day forgive himself. He has had self pity most of his life with his selfish ways but I pray for him and thank God for making a way for me to feel free. I will start building a relationship with him and one day share with him the love that God has for him just as he does for all of us. Forgiveness is hard but I have learned that it's all God's will. The Lord has been good to me in other ways and gave me a mother that was there to make sure we didn't go hungry, had clothes on our back and love. The Lord is good.

We all go through these very sad times in our lives but forgiveness really brings peace to your heart. Only God can give you that understanding and he knows we need forgiveness to pull through.

My dad was so difficult to love growing up. But through my relationship with dad, God has taught me what it means to have forgiveness and unconditional love. Although we had many, many, difficult days as a family, I bless God for the lessons I learned over the years because I'm better able to apply love and forgiveness in every aspect of my life now like at work and in other relationships. "There's healing in this house tonight" Praise God, my dad's heart has changed for the better because of the love we showed him and prayer. We have the occasional struggle but I can honestly say now that am proud to be his daughter.

This reminds of when I was 2 years old. As I was growing up when I turned 13 my mom told me...that my dad denied me saying I wasn't his. It hurt...It hurt bad but I'm 15 now and I'm over it all was forgiven. Did it take a while? Yes, it did but.. Anything is possible.

I come from a broken family, my mom died when i was three, my sister got token away, my dad meet a women that is my step mom now, at first I had a good childhood then everything started 2 fall apart in tenth grade my mom and dad started 2 drink again and then I moved out a year ago, ever since my mom and dad don't talked 2 me anymore, thanks 2 God he forgave me and know I talked 2 my sister again :-)

I couldn't have found a better song to fit with my current situation. I come from a broken home, and I have often blamed it on my father. All the wrongs he's done to me, I have found it most difficult to forgive him. As a growing Christian, I preach forgiveness to everybody I know, but until now i never could forgive my father. Through this song and God's grace I have finally been able to forgive my father for leaving and hurting my family so much. I forgive you dad. Matthew 18:21-22.
This song really reminds me of my moms life.. Her mom had three husbands, two of which were extremely abusive.. She is the second oldest of 9 kids and her dad was the only nice father. He was only around for a couple years. She had to move so many times, she never finished a year at the same school. She WAS alone. She became the mother of the family. Her life was living hell. I don't know how she did it. But she found God in her life and has become the best and most amazing person Ive ever met.
i love this song my parents are divorced and they both moved on so fast and my dad has a girlfriend and I just don't know what to do any more I can relate to this song so much it brings me to tears every time I hear it

He has been in God's house since the day he was born. God had a plan for him, and was and always is in complete control. God knew us and had a plan for us before we were ever formed in our mother's womb.

My mom said this song reminded her of me. Note, my mother daughter relationship was more on the lines of a covert narcissist and a scapegoat black sheep family dynamic, with my golden child brother and codependent alcoholic dad. I felt like a kitten who had been grabbed by the throat and chucked against a brick wall. Then picked up petted and kissed then thrown again into the hard brick wall. To only be approached again by mother dearest who yet again pertended to love me only to hurt me when she found me at my most valuable. I forgave her and still forgive her. But the scars and hurt still remain. She's always out to get me for some reason. She's always been against me but I could never understand why. I finally decided that I didn't need to know why. Because I did get to choose my parents or children. God chose them specifically for me. I like who I am and I have no regrets. But this song does kinda hit home with me.
This song came to my mind a couple of weeks ago. For 13 years i have had unforgiveness towards my husband. But im now learning and its a process to forgive since its been years and holding in so much pain its been hard. Im still married from this day. Life is very hard my marriage is falling apart. I love this song because growing up was hard. I'm not saying my dad didn't provide for us, because he did and I'm thankful for that. But I hurt mentally and emotionally because my dad is one of those guys that believes in tough love. I always afraid to talk to him, fear of him yelling at me, believing that anything I may say may make him maf, and even now as an adult I fear that he may one day disown me. He wasn't an easy man to deal with. There's just a lot of pain even now today that has been hard to deal with.
This song really struck me cause even though I know that I was with God already but still my flesh is weak that I cant control it I just keep sinning but despite of this this song reminds me not to give up coz I know that God will always forgive me no matter what that He is ready to accept me again even if there so many times I stumble down. God is good. I met Chris last year and i told him about my music. Its been a crazy ride since. I pray that Gods will be done in my life. We fall but we have to get back up. Thank you Chris and God bless. I look up to you and everyone in the Christian music industry.

I never knew why this was my older sister's favorite song. But now I can see why😭😭 we've definitely had our ups and downs. But I still love her no matter what happens!!
I have learned something to be very true. That most of the friends I have had have turned out to be enemies, and the ones I once trusted the most are the ones who have hurt me the most, yet God tells me to forgive them even when they hurt me the most. Lord, How many times am I suppose to forgive my brother when he wrongs me, till seven times? I say not until 7 times, but until seventy times seven. I would like for everyone to believe in that verse so we all could be forgiven, healed, and set free through the forgiving heart of Christ lived in us.

It's caused a lot of heartache in our family. I can relate to this so much...Every day my parents would argue and yell when I was younger. There isn't a day that I can remember in which they didn't yell at each other. I used to dread the moment my dad would come home from work. It eventually led to their divorce, but I have forgiven both of my parents, especially my dad and it took that forgiveness to move on. God showed me that I couldn't grow spiritually without forgiving him.
My kids grew up the same way. Their dad and I always fighting. I thought I was doing the right thing by staying because I wanted them to have both parents. But I did more harm than good. Leaving didn't help the situation either. I lost my kids for 2 1/2 yrs. My daughter still can't forgive me or her dad, even though he has since passed away. Unhappy marriages do so much harm. There's no right answer. My kids and I are slowly coming back together. My relationship with my new husband is day-by-day. But we have Jesus and His divine mercy and grace. And as the saying goes "There, by the grace of God, go I."
It's good to pray when you are younger, cause god speaks to you in a very young age.. Whenever they argue, you should Pray each time when they fight with each other... I always pray when I'm in trouble for something I haven't done... or being blame for... or pray for others..

This song always makes my day. A lot of people come from broken homes. Myself included. My father chose drugs and alcohol over me. I am still working on forgiving him. I know by God's good grace eventually I will. Thanks to Chris August for giving us a song to help with the healing of being part of a broken home.

've struggled with my past longer then I'd like to state. After leaving home at 15, I was torn. I knew God as a child, and I can say that it's Him, who saved me. I still struggle with forgiveness, but am working hard. This song I recently heard on our local radio and it burst me into tears the moment I heard it. God has used you to write this song, not only for me, but for many wounded souls. Now with 4 children of my own, God has made me the mother I've always wanted to be, that mine wasn't:-)

Sometimes I ask 7x70 times for something but God doesn't give it to me. But my faith is not shaken because I know that when He blesses me, He blesses me 7x70 times more that what I can ever imagine.

I guess what broke my heart the most is,, I don't think my dad went to heaven. My life was a living hell till we left him. I was too scared to ever go back. I guess he's the reason why I believe in God. I was born in a tragic situation, and there was no place to go, and no one to turn to. All I had was God, which was the only thing that I needed to begin with. God made a way out of there, He wont give you more than you can handle, and towards the end, it was way more than we could handle.
I did not grow up in a broken home however my father worked the late shift and was rarely home after school or before bed. I've carried resentment about him not being there for 40+ years. Through this song I was able to forgive and let go of that resentment. I love & miss my dad very much, RIP daddy.

I was so angry, and sad at the same time. It's still an empty feeling when I look back. He was the reason why we lived in poverty. During the funeral, I cried in my husband's arms. I had a good feeling this man who was my dad, did not make it to heaven. He was burning in hell It was not safe to live around him the last year we were there. I left my crazy home back in 83. I never went back till 08. That was when my dad died. He was the reason why my mom and I left. The old house, was still the same. After all those years, the posters on my bedroom wall were still there. My doll house was still on the desk, where I had left it. It was by a window. I never knew that thick card board really gets old after all those years of sitting by a window. I grabbed my gum ball machine. I thought about that gum ball machine a lot after I left.

Watch the free movie there titled~ THE LAST REFORMATION, THE BEGINNING...." its 1 & a half hours long & in the movie he explained how God started all this & then shows on the film all kinds of divine healings as well as cast out of people & being set free from all kinds of bondage's. After watching the movie check out the other videos on his channel as well as his website. This movement of God is spreading all over the world. I just now found this song. I live in a broken family. This song speaks to me so much. Last year my dad dared me to cut myself in a fight we had. I hadn't forgiven him until a few weeks ago. This song brought tears to my eyes.
Last month we got a phone call... our sweet friend who was only twenty years young of over ten years had just been shot in of all places our church... the building isn't important but in the fellowship there we had found the ultimate refuge and my kids have run our buildings as if they were their own personal playgrounds since they could walk... and she was my daughters favorite person in the world... she was her role model... we loved her as you love your dearest, sweetest friend...

I was once a kid with no cares in Jesus Christ but i have asked God for forgiveness many times and was washed the amazing Blood of Christ and was taken by the holy spirit! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!!!! To all who are reading, I just wanna say that I love you. The people on RUclips lost and unlost, to the people who visit, I love you 7x70+1.
I sorta know what that feels like... see my sister decided that because we were a good family with parents that teach us how to love others and forgive and be giving wonderful people and not let us as kids just run the house and do whatever we want she decided that she didn't want to live with us anymore so she went to live with her grandma. The reason I say her grandma and not our grandma is because first she wasn't MY grandma because my sister was from my dads previous marriage. Anyway after a few years of this and by a few I mean a lot of years of her crap she decided that she was sorry for what she had done and she made right with us and my parents were still a little worried cause she had just changed her mind all of the sudden but I was foolish and trusted her to tell the truth. Well shortly after this happened I got a does if reality because I realized she had lied again and I had fallen into the trap and got my hopes up again thinking I finally had my sister back but I was wrong because she lied... again... she lied when she said that she loved me when she said she was sorry when she said she'd never do that again when she said she really meant it all... and the sad thing is I as a little kid wanting to have my sister back fell for it. I got tricked and now that has made me to where now I have to know someone for a while before I trust them enough to tell them thing that are personal and truly take with them. I have I guess a little bit of a trust issue now thanks to her and everything she put my parents and I through because I'm afraid that if I tell someone something personal that I will be lied to and lose that person just to have them come back and apologize just to lie to me again. Sorry this is so long I listen to this song and I kinda hurts because I know I can never trust her again I can never have anything special with her again. I know that the Bible says to forgive and I really truly tried to forgive her but she has hurt my parents and I so much that eventually you come to a time when forgiving isn't any option anymore because you know if you do forgive you'll just get hurt again. Well I guess that's her chose she will have to answer to God for all the lies and wrong doing she has done in her life just like the rest of us one of these days and when that day comes she truly will be sorry for she wont get to spend eternity in paradise but instead in pain and sorrow. Grace McKenzie I think you should forgive her, but keep her at a distance. Forgiving is not trusting or being close to each other again, forgiveness is healing for you. Just keep her at a distance, just because you forgive her doesn't mean you have to trust her, or be near her. God bless you! I hope it gets better, or is better

Chris I just wanna thank you so much my brother for the inspiring lyrics God moves you to write. I know for a fact that there will be a crown in heaven with your name on it. 7x70 is a song I really can relate to. I came from an abusive home. My birth mom had 5 kids from three different guys. When I got abused, she never did anything. to keep my sister from fussing and therefore getting the same treatment as me she would drug her. Hearing this song just hits me in the heart. I now realize why I can't move on with my life. I haven;t forgiven my mom. I may have forgiven her in my heart but that's not enough. I thank God every day for my forever family the Pluims who took me and my two youngest siblings in. I hope this testimony will bear witness to God's love forgiveness mercy and grace.
We're all here for a reason. He does have a plan for you. U are worthy of love, that's why you're still here. Believe in urself, God believes in you and accepts you. A lot of people have cataracts. I have two, one in each eye. neither is operable. U can hav them removed when they're big enough. Sign language is beautiful, I wish I could speak it. It's very special. Join a nice church, they use sign language. You will meet someone that will help see you through your difficulties! God bless you!

I know i posted part of my testimony on this earlier.But i just want to say. My best friend just died. His father called me,i hang out with him as much as i can cause he's cool and he needs someone,is parents are divorced. He told me that he was involved in a car accident about an hour ago,and he broke his neck.He was paralyzed and unresponsive when the paramedics arrived. The father told me he was on his was home from church. pray he was forgiven. lease pray he made it to heaven. R.I.P Kevin.

My father died early this month. I just listened to this song. The house that my heart took it as was not the house that I grew up in as much as my own body. There was a lot of mixed feelings between me and my father. Some hurt and a lot of unforgiveness from me. But this song broke me down as I was doing paperwork for work. God is a healing God. Amen.

I came from a broken home but I never had it as bad as my other friends that came from broken homes.. I grew up with my mum that raised me as a Christian. No matter what happened I always felt far away from God. This song always drives me to tears. Right now I'm visiting with my dad and his gay partner. Now I have nothing against the LGBT community believe me. But I would have rathered that my dad had chosen my mum instead of some random guy that he met at a bar. I know I need to forgive him for what he chose but it's really hard for me to do and I'm working on it... I always think of my dad when i hear this song.... though im only 16 years old i have had so much hurt and heartache from my father abandoning me at 10 years old....he was my world my everything but as i got older and grew stronger from all the pain i learned to forgive him for all he's done to me and my family like abandoning,breaking promises, and letting me down so much....
