The way I learned this drill (I learned it in the early days of RUclips from somebody who wasn't Craig Douglas, btw), was that the first two shots from retention go into the pelvis, then two to the chest one-handed while backing up and extending, then one to the head with both hands at full extension. At least that's the way I've always practiced it. It's been a while so I can't remember if that's exactly how the guy taught it or if I adapted it to that. I like that Craig Douglas added that proprioceptive index (nipple, pect, etc.). This was a phenomenal presentation, btw. I'm glad you covered the risk of flagging yourself if you don't plant your hand on your chest.
@@CutlassOutdoors appreciate it; these are unfortunately our all time lowest performing videos, but I feel like it’s some of the most valuable information that we can put out regardless. The thumb pectoral indexing was extremely helpful for my little brain to remember how to perform it even after months of not practicing, and holding the shirt is just how I taught myself to remember to not flag my hand
Thank you! The training videos don't perform well but we think it's rather important for people to have access to some easy training that isn't "put you to sleep" level of delivery...
We tell everyone to message admin and garand thumb to have us on their channels. One day they’ll get enough messages it’ll work and we may be able to move to freedom
If I remember correctly, the primary reason for aiming down isn't the possibility of shots hitting something behind your assailant, but the possibility that you'll have to use your free hand to push them off while you draw, and it might be in harm's way.
I didn’t like how your buddy is standing next to you while you are firing your weapon using the timer. That is dangerous there should never be someone in front of you while you’re shooting at a target

It’s not dangerous not even slightly… just don’t point your gun at your friends…
Oof
Almost as scary of a draw to practice as firing before the gun is up.
