The "bare-bones clothes, no shoes, exclusion to an island" vibes really just scream cult. Now we just have to wonder what sort of Eldritch horror they're worshipping.
It wasn't so much the no shoes and bareness of the clothes for me, as much as the fact they're all dressed up the same. Cults do that as part of how they break your individuality.

I'm planning on doing a yoga retreat next summer. They do them over the weekend at an artist retreat; it's a multi use local space. "She reminds me of my sister!" Actually my first thought is that this character reminds me of Gab lol. As though the devs put Gab's likeness into a horror game, as befitting.
It's an amazing time when you can get away to a quiet place for a week with no cellphones, laptops, tablets, etc. It's a weird adjustment at first because we're so use to having this stuff with us 24/7 but it's definitely worth it if you can get away from it all for a bit as you discover how much stress these things being into your life sometimes.

intermittent explosive disorder is a real thing and explains kim's outburst, the disorder is characterized by "explosive" outbursts that can involve screaming or even trying to hurt oneself or others.
It gives a similar story to Raven DC's character. 14:50 THE DOME 16:42 is so true it gives me such a weird vibe and is a game (very weird like is based on a real story) very weird that didn't anyone get sick walking barefoot 18:00 I agree 20:45 is that "Behemoth" another entity very similar to Abraxas 32:10 yes the tea opens the 3rd eye. Yes, ied is legit. Mean as legitimate as any mental health disorder is regarding you know people with degrees deciding we need to pathologize people. It's usually something diagnosed primarily in women so probably some sort of bias there. It is sometimes co-diagnosed with odd which is oppositional defiant disorder
My view on cults has changed significantly since leaving the Mormon church lol now I look at anyone with tiny tendencies and I’m like “ISSA CUUUUULT” 😂 I don’t mess with those types of people 😬 positivity is great but there is also such a thing as toxic positivity which could be, in some cases worse than negativity.
Toxic positivity runs rampant in so-called new age circles and it causes so much trauma and harm to people who just want to connect to something beyond themselves. Like "positive vibes only" isn't realistic.
I like the setting, but what is more unique is the character progression. Gives me The Council vibes, and that system was very cool, but needed polish. I hope this one works better. I just love RPG progression that is attached to the "role-playing" and not just numbers you select.
Lol Gab already forgot how to do meditation to recover mind health lol XD also Gab should had taken all the herbs at the beginning, it's always a rule to loot everything you see in games XD
People complain about tutorials that hold your hand too much, but this is what happens when they DON'T. Introduce mechanics in a natural story-based way and some people won't even realize they're core mechanics until they get slapped in the face with them.

I've just started watching but everything in my body is SCREAMING at Jess to leave immediately. RUN, girl, it's a cult, run! Recruiting traumatized, depressed, lonely and otherwise vulnerable people. A single leader "inspirational, great teacher" that's so charismatic they're irresistible. Isolated place. Makes the people feel "whole", a part of a community, "here you're safe from the bad things in the world". Rules about what's "forbidden" and "mandatory", like no shoes and specific, identical clothing. Don't fall for cults, guys.
Such a unique game! Though I personally would've been fine if it didn't have the supernatural element since cults by themselves are scary enough for me. But still really enjoy it!
Okay, I just started but have to get some things out there. First, the opening cult clothes look super soft and super comfy and I want them. If they're as nice as they look then I may even be open to the cult idea. Second, you really *do* get used to being barefoot. I've been a full-time barefooter for several years now, and if I'm ever cultnapped I'll still be able to run away. With my comfy clothes, hopefully.

I saw the trailer for this game a while back! Can't wait to watch you play this game 😍
Just avoid places with cults! Pro tip to survive!
@@elvingearmasterirma7241lol
Only four minutes in and I ready need to make an SCP reference. And the eldritch death portal at the beginning…..
“You do not recognize The Bodies in the Water”
Ten cookie points for any who gets the reference.
Loving this so far! You’re the coolest Gab
That was very kind of you to display the warning in the beginning.
i'm a new viewer but i absolutely love all your videos and i've been bingeing them hardcore. thank you for the best content i've seen in a while. it keeps my boring life interesting lol i really love ur content and how you are as a person. thank you so much for this
intermittent explosive disorder is a real thing and explains kim's outburst, the disorder is characterized by "explosive" outbursts that can involve screaming or even trying to hurt oneself or others.
I saw the trailer recently and was really interested in watching someone play it. And I’m so glad it’s you I get to watch! So excited!!
I can't wait for more of this game.
It gives a similar story to Raven DC's character.
14:50 THE DOME
16:42 is so true it gives me such a weird vibe and is a game (very weird like is based on a real story)
very weird that didn't anyone get sick walking barefoot
18:00 I agree
20:45 is that "Behemoth" another entity very similar to Abraxas
32:10 yes the tea opens the 3rd eye. But the truth is math and puzzles opens your 3rd eye
36:55 Alan Wake is that you????
A lot of people in YTB didn't upload it because immediately get an age restriction I like that Gab gives the vibe that she doesn't care.
I have a spiritual guru who taught me how to meditate. The vision I got the first time wasn't as vivid as this one, but it was pretty cool and trippy.
@@dark_neverland for real!
I call it: Survival of the most observant.
Also you learn more each playthrough.
"I've heard so much about you, it's SO nice to finally meet you". Introvert panic. Hate that. Haha! 😂
Honestly, if the horror genre ever taught me anything; the moment I saw my friend looking like she’s living it up in the Midsommar movie, with the wannabe Jesus guy: I’d bail real fast😆
This was so good! I really do hope you continue to enjoy this series!!
I swear, this game gives me major Cult of the Lamb vibes.
At 39:16 it looks like a dead deer on the ground. At first I thought a deer or a horse but it's too small for a horse so deer it is. Seems like an interesting game and can't wait to watch you play more.
13:50
"It's fine, just follow my voice"
Then she doesn't say a word until out of the dark
Gab, "It gets culty if they start demanding things of you." Cult leader, "Welcome. Join us, sit, DRINK." Sounded like a demand there
ahh i remember seeing the trailer for this a while back and thinking it looked interesting, also i thought it might be something you'd like 😭 then i completely forgot about it so it's fun to see you play it now 🙌💕
I've just started watching but everything in my body is SCREAMING at Jess to leave immediately.
3:18 gave me flashbacks to the mom in ice age 1 at the edge of the cliff i cannot even lie
"shall we punch it in the face?" so many good one liners lately XD
I’ve never brandished sage as an attack weapon, but I might try that approach now lol. ‘Smudge melee!’
As soon as that woman opened her mouth about denying science at 19:00 I knew this shit would be about a cult.
DAMN, Manson gave me a real scare there, damn 40:21
Gab, I think you might have missed some lore back at the building that had the fuse in it. there was something hanging on the wall above the desk.
Get those sponsors Gab!!!
The clothing alone screams Cult XD
Such a unique game! Though I personally would've been fine if it didn't have the supernatural element since cults by themselves are scary enough for me. But still really enjoy it!
13:00 BAHAHAHA I’ve never seen sage used as a literal attack weapon before 😂😂😂
Okay, I just started but have to get some things out there.
What about Hookworm and Ringworm? Comfy leather shoes are better
This was so great to watch!! Can’t wait to watch more!
Thank you for always posting so faithfully! Your content always is my go to after work with my dinner!
I find attacking the flies hilarious. Wasn't expecting some fighting/karate moves lol.
Imagine at the next family meeting Gab’s sister starts:
I’ve got some news to share, I was asked to be the model for the main character in an indie game called The Chant. And I said yes!
Gab: I knew it was you!
That would be awesome
AHHH, So glad you’re playing thisssss x
Is your RUclips name a play on Tia beanie from Disenchanted?
@@Kairii-Kylie noooo, I’ve not seen that yet, I’ll check it out now though! x it’s just because my first name is Fia and my last name starts with B and I call a lot of things bean thanks to my sister, so it just came to beee x
when Jess was on the boat around 5:45 had me thinking about how Ooblets has a similar opening scene
"Spirit Ember" festival? I really feel like that's a jab at the Fyre Festival failure, in which case, well played game devs.
