So stressful! I love the setting for this game; war is horrifying enough as it is, and adding a monster to it makes it all the more terrifying. And whoever voiced that German prisoner did a great job. He sounded so scared, it was heartbreaking. Always appreciate that you take the time to read all the notes you find so we all can follow the story with you. I enjoyed this first part a lot, and can't wait to see you play more of it!
His German sounds surprisingly good, too. A bit throaty, but at least he doesn't sound like some kind of bad war movie parody, the way a lot of German in foreign-made products sounds. Helps that the developer is based in Europe, I guess. They'd actually know what real Germans sound like.

I just wanted to say a lot of your youtube videos are my sleep aid. I love your boyfriend, but he spends half his time yelling and screaming and your voice is far more soothing plus you play a very interesting group of games that most youtubers don't cover. Yeah you hit some of the big ones like this, but I really like the Nancy Drew series especially. I had no idea there were so many games in that series and that they were as good as they were. Anyways, being as I almost never comment on your videos, just wanted to say while I'm a mostly non-interactive and silent fan, I do loyally watch and enjoy your content. Cheers.
You are not alone in all your points. I also sometimes rewatch her videos 2x or 3x because I fall asleep. Glad to know she has the same effect to others too.😊
Seeing games like these as a German is so interesting. I have been bilingual my entire life, learning english since I can remember, so the switch from English to German is almost unnoticeable for me. To think that many wouldn't understand anything is so interesting. Idk languages fascinate me.
Sadly as an American I was raised monolingual but I'm learning Czech and Estonian Languages are so much harder to learn when you're not being taught multiple at a young age, but none of my family knows any other languages anyway. I'd be the first.
I LOVE how frictional implements tutorials and hints in this game. They guide you instead of mashing your face in it. The final tutorial message that encourages you to try new things and strategies was a good omen to the rest of the game. The discovery of the fuel bottle and the empty bottle with cloth as a subtle way of saying "Hey, you can craft mollies!" through environmental story telling. Makes you also wonder what else can you craft to find a way to survive and escape this dingy WW1 hellhole. As always, excited for more.
I fully had no idea a new Amnesia game was coming out! This looks incredible. I love that they set this one during WWI. That was truly a terrifying time for so many reasons, so I am so excited to see how this game pans out!!
After 40 years of Horror gaming I’ve now only just found your channel… it’s one of the best,so I’m in the bunker now too! You are doing much better than me 😂
I can't wait for the next upload. Few tips here based on your playthrough : - maybe you can cover the big hole with a box/drum to be safer, but it will take some time to do so & how long the remaining fuel is based on time (your pocket watch). - always try to find another door/ way-in first, before destroying the wooden door with a stone. I noticed the airduct could be a way-in (56:20) into the mission storage, but you just blew up the locked door & run away 😂 - the little mice are afraid of fire, not lights. big monster - i think - has poor eyesight in bright places, it detects noise movement & smells of blood. be extra careful, only if you get hurt, because the monster still be able to find your hiding place. Take at least one medkit wherever you go. - from the notes : arsenal is the last destination, but the arsenal code is in communication room (@soldier quarters). - You have limited space to collect items, so drop items you find near the exit of the area, therefore you don't risk to lose any valuable items and can easily pick them up.
This was SO GOOD omg I definitely want to see more I was so stressed and I wasn't even playing 😂 love the strategy of crawling around in the dark to avoid being heard
I am so impressed by how good Gab is at languages! I have a hard time learning English, and it's just my second one. Great game, it made me really nervous!

Love from Poland and once again, congratulations!🤍❤
Never thought I'd watch feature-length game playthroughs before finding your channel but here we are! So awesome to discover these games with you. Those glimpses at the creature and the damn rats had me so tense. I would definitely just sit hiding in the dark too lol, I think it's good they have the added stress with the generator.
This is the first time I’m watching you play a horror game and I’ve got to say wow you make a difference lol. Usually I only watch Jack and Mark but your calm demeanor and quieter voice make this so much less scary than it could’ve been. I don’t know maybe there’s less jump scares than other games? Either way I didn’t have problems sleeping in my pitch black room after watching this lol ❤
I am a huge fan of games based during WWI so i am so excited about this one. The visuals are spot on as to what the real trenches and bunkers looked like. SO excited for this one, I loved rebirth and im gonna love this one. Edit: Also love how you check your health based on the amount of blood on your hand instead of a health bar. Much more immersive.
The game devs really outdid themselves. 20 mins in and I'm already spooked. I'm not easily scared. I've played all of the other Amnesia games, this one gives me the willies.
Okay I don’t feel insane because that’s exactly how I feel. I can watch a LOT of horror games and type of horror and not get spooked, and I have zero idea why this one made me feel so jumpy.
At first glance, it was mind-boggling and weird to have guns be usable in Amnesia, a game where you are mostly helpless, but to know that they are tools to bust padlocks and ignite barrels, I can live with this. Plus, knowing that they are very scarce in ammo, I can also live with this. I was always a coward when it came to these games. I couldn't bring myself to move an inch unless I knew I was safely hidden.
There's only something like 20-30 bullets in the whole game which balances it out. It takes 2 to scare the monster away. So it's balanced in an interesting way IMO
Rather like Alien: Isolation, I think having weapons actually makes it scarier. The threat feels so much more personal when I can try to fight back and see for myself how badly outmatched I am
@@jacobbesler3214 In a way, yeah. As long as they don't EXPECT you to kill anything, having a weapon puts a whole lot more dread on the player because they are still expected to run into the monster somehow.

Excited to get my hands on the game soon and also to watch your playthrough of it! They actually got the scrounging noises so accurate in the walls!!!! We always seem to have mice and birds in our vents in the summer time, so to hear something so heavy scrounging and scraping in the walls is so scary!!!!!!
Every time she cranked that flashlight made me SO DAMN TENSE. That damn critter was following her the entire time but just didn't want to leave it's hole with the lights on, and it was getting PISSED at all the noise.
Great playthrough. This game looks pretty excellent. It's also cool to see World War 1 era horror explored. The dependancy on the generator really compliments that feeling of desperation as well as the threat of the monster itself. In some ways the underground setting brings me back to Penumbra, in the best way of course.
I wonder if putting large objects in front of the holes might discourage or slow down the beast. Or if putting an explosive barrel in front of a hole might function like a trap for the beast (kaboom the next time they try to come out of that hole). Such things could also serve as an additional indicator of when and where the beast emerges from a given hole.
This looks like a cool game and I'd enjoy a full playthrough if you're up for it. I feel like all the Amnesia games have done a great job in making their environments unnerving and creeping tension
Just played the steam demo and I can definitely say that this is true horror at its finest. Definitely feels like Dark Descent and Penumbra if it had a baby. Can't wait for the full game.
This game series is like Alien Isolation-degree scary. You barely get anything in the way of weapons, and success relies solely on stealth from the monsters. Nostalgia.
Holy CRAP! This game is literally the stuff of my nightmares! You played for just over an hour and a half, but it felt like four! And can you imagine if they made this playable in VR?! 😰 Can't wait to see the rest of this series!
Omg the sound design of this game! Amnesia is one of the few games these days that has me covering the screen because the tension is so high😂 and congratulations to 1mil Gab❤
Ah man, I'm genuinely so excited for this game. 😁 It looks SUPER spooky and tense. Ty for playing it! I love watching your horror playthroughs since you're calmness/quietness gets me more invested in the gameplay and scares me even more (something I love haha!) 😂
The german soldier said "im safe... safe inside my cage", "a devil.... a devil for the french devil..." and "one day... home... spring..." in addition to what Gab already translated. He's basically just mumbling random stuff.
I like the tutorial hints in this. They feel more welcoming than most tutorials I've played. I especially like the pop up that says to try different ways of solving problems. I wish the German subtitles were translated so I could understand what the prisoner was saying though. 😅
@@CDexie Little trivia since I'm bored rn: Whenever a studio has a plot which involves more than one language, how they handle that language in representation towards the audience has never to do with the protagonist understanding it or not. It is a tool for how to convey alienation. An NPC may say something in translated English with our protagonist replying "what?" even while both talk English to us as onlookers, but when a piece of narration is left completely untranslated we as the audience aren't meant to understand & empathize with a particular subject in the plot. For comparison the protagonist in this game speaks French, but it is still translated for the player into English. What the protagonist & the player understand only intersects in places where both are meant to be alienated or not towards a third-person in the plot.
Congratulations for the 1M Gab!!!! I've been here since the 100K, and I'm very happy for you! Let's watch the new Amnesia game!!!, I practiced my English with Gab, I wasn't very good back then when I got to know this RUclips channel, but I watched it everyday, and after some years, I'm native now, thank you, Gab!
Well I will already tell you that the ammo needs work. I got to wonder what the French officers were thinking when they blew that tunnel? That rat thing could get through and even if it could not. It could dig it's own path. All blowing the entrance would do is bury there own troops alive. I could see people doing this. Being driven out of fear. But still, it is a lose, lose situation.
love seeing you excited for another amnesia game! I'm going to try to get my husband who doesn't really likespooky games to play this together when it comes out, he'll appreciate the WW2 theme, and i'll appreciate him squealing in fear hehehe
You probably won't check back on this video since it's already a few days old, but I found your channel during lockdown and I was hooked! Your energy, sense of humor, and honesty are what I like the most. I've especially enjoyed your lets-plays of Days Gone and The Sinking City. Just thought I'd say hey and how awesome you are! P.s. Love the ink, too!
Very nice touch of them to release it on the Swedish National Holiday, 6/6, means more people can play it on launch as most people are home from work that day :D
I feel like the dog tag codes could also be D.O.B in some cased, the first two codes ending in 99 and this being set in World War 1 could be 1899. A nice touch
Im fairly certain that you could get the fuel to last longer if you flip those switches and shut off the lights to sections that youre not currently exploring.

Every time she cranked that flashlight made me SO DAMN TENSE. That damn critter was following her the entire time but just didn't want to leave it's hole with the lights on, and it was getting PISSED at all the noise.
The game: "Don't crank the flashlight too much, it's loud!"
Gabs: "I'm about to end this mans whole career-"
Great playthrough. This game looks pretty excellent. It's also cool to see World War 1 era horror explored.
The dependancy on the generator really compliments that feeling of desperation as well as the threat of the monster itself. In some ways the underground setting brings me back to Penumbra, in the best way of course.
So excited for this! Also I just saw you hit 1 MILLION 🎉❤😊
"T for rotate.....Trotate" 😂
Gab this is exactly what I needed as I just caught a cold so this brought some joy to me today
THE OCD IS KILLING ME 😂
But absolutely love these videos though Gabs! Such a good break away from the world of drama for me ❤
I wonder if putting large objects in front of the holes might discourage or slow down the beast. Or if putting an explosive barrel in front of a hole might function like a trap for the beast (kaboom the next time they try to come out of that hole). Such things could also serve as an additional indicator of when and where the beast emerges from a given hole.
After a Machine for Pigs, I always yearned for an Amnesia game set in WW1 or WW2, it's glad to see the devs share the sentiment
The editing on this video is **chef kiss**
"'T' for 'rotate'. Tro-tate" 🤣😂 You are absolutely adorable sometimes.
The weapon reloading and light winding animations are awesome. This is going to be a really fun playthrough to get into.
Amnesia reminds me of STEPHANO everytime!!!
This game series is like Alien Isolation-degree scary. You barely get anything in the way of weapons, and success relies solely on stealth from the monsters. Nostalgia.
Ive been saying for years that a kinetic flashlight is the perfect solution to the infinite flashlight vs battery/fuel debate.
Holy CRAP! This game is literally the stuff of my nightmares! You played for just over an hour and a half, but it felt like four! And can you imagine if they made this playable in VR?! 😰
Can't wait to see the rest of this series!
Even with a gun this game is a lot scarier than i thought. Intresting, maybe this could be a worthy sequel to the original game.
Omg the sound design of this game! Amnesia is one of the few games these days that has me covering the screen because the tension is so high😂 and congratulations to 1mil Gab❤
What a fun playthrough Gabz! Great job! 👍🏾
The new amnesia game looks great and scary! can’t wait for the full release to come out! thanks for the video and happy friday gab!❤
I love watching mail time and jumping right into this 😂
Ah man, I'm genuinely so excited for this game. 😁 It looks SUPER spooky and tense. Ty for playing it! I love watching your horror playthroughs since you're calmness/quietness gets me more invested in the gameplay and scares me even more (something I love haha!) 😂
I know most people around the world speak several languages but as an American, it never ceases to amaze me just how many languages Gab knows
The german soldier said "im safe... safe inside my cage", "a devil.... a devil for the french devil..." and "one day... home... spring..." in addition to what Gab already translated. He's basically just mumbling random stuff.
Would be so excited to see more. It's not a game I could play myself but will be there for the vid or stream VLOG for sure!
Love watching you play, please never stop posting videos
Omggggg I'm SO excited to watch the full game, however you end up playing it!!! This is already so stressful, I am SO ready for the rest!!
I like the tutorial hints in this. They feel more welcoming than most tutorials I've played. I especially like the pop up that says to try different ways of solving problems.
I wish the German subtitles were translated so I could understand what the prisoner was saying though. 😅
I don't know if the order of the comments are the same for everyone, but for me just above yours is a comment translating all the things he said ❤
inshallah, there's always a moment to start learning German
But the point is you can't understand it. You're a french soldier with amnesia in WW1
@@CDexie Little trivia since I'm bored rn:
Whenever a studio has a plot which involves more than one language, how they handle that language in representation towards the audience has never to do with the protagonist understanding it or not.
@@CDexie I get that. But it doesn't contribute much to the atmosphere for me if I don't understand what he's saying.
This was such a good watch! So excited to see you play more of this in the future
Now you can see why the Great War was so terrible, they kept shipping bullets one by one to the front lines.
congrats on the 1 mill subs !!!!!! looking forward to the play through :))))
Omg yes please stream it on Twitch! I want so bad to be scared beyond rational level with thousands of other people while watching this game.
I didn’t realize this was coming out in June, I’m so hyped!! 😆 looks so damn good, I can’t wait.
This actually looks pretty sick! This is, like, Alien Isolation with a monster jumping outta holes and RE inventory system. Pretty nuts so far.
In Bloodborne.... a player's best friend is a tree.
In Amnesia..... "is that a brick?"
I had no idea they were making another game, nice
I'd have sat down with one of those grenades once I heard that growling 😂 if climbing out of that rubble won't get me out, I'll go out another way 😂😂
I love how you talk to the monster like it’s just another bully 😂
It bothers me that the Germans speak actual German, but the French speak English with a French accent.
Gab’s gamer instincts: *well I’ll just calmly set traps for the monster and run* and as soon as the game calms down let’s out a “EUUUUHHH HOLY MOMMA”
Have high hopes for this one!
Just found your channel love the editing and energy great work!
Very nice touch of them to release it on the Swedish National Holiday, 6/6, means more people can play it on launch as most people are home from work that day :D
This reminded me of the Penumbra series, I wish Frictional Games brought that back
I feel like the dog tag codes could also be D.O.B in some cased, the first two codes ending in 99 and this being set in World War 1 could be 1899. A nice touch
"I've got a saw!! - I saw that!!!" LMFAO Omg Gab, I literally was crying laughing, while writing this!!
If it has custom stories i can see ppl having a field day with this game, they will be way scarier
Im fairly certain that you could get the fuel to last longer if you flip those switches and shut off the lights to sections that youre not currently exploring.
13:23 Me: Hello, Darkness, my old frie-
*Growls in the distance*
Me: 😳
