How to make a good game feel like a disappointement, every fucking review of this game is building on negativity, and this game will flop because of it. Those reviewers are dumbasses.
@@DakoseSan2I played one that looked similar. Forget the name. No, racing games didn't peak back then. That framerate... F-Zero X is the best racing game I ever played in my humble opinion.
Feels like an update more than a sequel, repackaging most of the DLC for the first game as content for the second game. I am quite disappointed that they didn't address many of my personal issues with the first game, such as the wheel spoke paint not working correctly at all (despite the trailer showing otherwise), very low track creation budget (which was proven to be unreasonable through mods we used to expand it to almost 7x), no layer grouping for livery creation, the drift cancel exploit still being in the game, and then some. It doesn't help that the private lobby size went down from 12 to 10 for seemingly no reason, with the promised cross-play still not delivered, and they removed my personaly favorite car (Rigor Motor) instead of fixing it's completely bugged custom livery mapping. As such I have refrained from getting the game so far, though if the multiplayer proves to be more fun thanks to the new upgrading system (or if the game goes on a significant sale), I will consider getting the game.
The last game suffered from massive rubber banding, and the issue that you never had a reason to drive anything other than your fastest car. Reviewer didn't mention either of these, so I guess no change? Honestly between issues and the DLC stuffed into the main map, I'm surprised the reviewer looks back on the first game so fondly.
IGN's reviewer said that he found it more fun to _switch_ cars, this time around, but didn't explicitly say anything about rubberbanding. So who knows... This whole game seems more like a sidegrade than a clear upgrade.
You've got more reason to drive different cars now. Because there are different event types, so e.g. some cars will not be as fast but can be better for the drifting events. And some campaign events outright require you to drive a certain class of vehicle
I honestly thought this game was much better the speed is way faster than the first one you have more control because they widen the tracks. and the jump feature is amazing to use
The Whale Shark is the largest species of Shark in the world, able to reach lengths of up to 18 meters. The smallest species of shark is the Dwarf Lanternshark, which maxes out at 20cm long.
It was interesting coming into the first game after mastering CTR. At that point you don't want weapons, And know you'll regret having them. And yet still kind of / slightly felt like they were missing. I don't think I would like the side-ramming either in practice
I'm in two minds about this too. It would be fun to have a separate racing mode with weapons/items, but I'd want the "clean" mode to be more popular online, and it probably just wouldn't be. The big difference between CTR and MK-style items and the side-ramming here is that you have to catch up to someone to side-ram them 😂 And it uses the boost meter, which could otherwise be spent to make you go faster. I'm interested to see how much of a "problem" it turns out to be online
First one was great, played it on Game Pass and ended up snagging it in a Humble pack. I imagine this one'll get similar treatment but appreciate it and the review all the same!
Guys, can you add AI bots in multiplayer matches? And can you add bots in custom-made tracks? These are the most prevalent questions everyone wants to know, it's a deal breaker since first game. Yet NO review talks about this! Please let us now.
Will the AI work on custom tracks ? Will it be easier to find a particular track with a code like in Mario Maker ? The communicaty aspect of the first game had a great potential but they wasted it with pretty restrictive sharing options, that was a shame
I didn’t really like how slippery the drifting was in the original. Wasn’t expecting something more technical in a kid’s IP. Doesn’t look like anything’s changed so I’ll pass.
I really did like the first game, and while it's good to see more of the same things i liked, I wished there was more to bring the excitement even further. This will be a skip. Thanks for the review!
really? a random store that you have to wait 40 minutes to refresh, couldn't they just do what Gran Turismo did and put all the cars for sale from the start?
This. Car unlocking was one of the two problems i had with the first. The other one was difficulty spikes. Game's currently on pre order for 33€ in my country, but still feels a lot for this "sequel"
There are a few locked behind some hard/100%-type challenges. But it's much easier to get most of the cars than it was in the first game, because you can manually refresh the shop list 10 times for the average cost of a car, and currency is not so hard to come by either. Difficulty spikes remain, but are more restricted to "Unleashed" goals (not require for progression), and post-campaign/endgame challenges
As long as there is online multiplayer im fine. The first game was really good. Only problem many tracks was to long in my opinion. Long meaning 6+ minutes.
Note that you could also buy individual cars in the original from a list that refreshed every few hours with the in-game currency, not just blind boxes. The blind boxes were more fun, however, and any duplicates you got could be sold for coins to fuel more purchases or for gears to upgrade your vehicles.
I played the first one through Game Pass and felt like I wasted my money even though I didn't pay a cent. Looks like they have done very little for a sequel :(
Hot tip: Don't play this on the switch. The first one was pretty spotty performance wise and while I haven't played the sequel I can't imagine it being much better in that regard. The first game was solid mindless fun though 👍 I was think it sound like an improvement that the bosses races are shorter because they were the weakest part of the og game in my opinion. In this case sense that they didn't much differ from a normal race except having to place first rather than top three. I frequently settled with a third place on a normal race but don't recall having any trouble beating a boss first try so don't really see the point.
I'm not sure why Hot Wheels keeps making all these mediocre animated Hot Wheels series attempts..... When the best animated Hot wheel series already exists, and it's called motor City
We did it bois! After 15 long years we got half the complexity and style of Speed Racer: The Videogame 2008!
Can't blame them as movie tie-in games usually suck, but looking back it's one of the best arcade racing games out there.
Racing games peaked with Stunt Car Racer in 1989

Also @ OP, thx for the tip. Knew about the game, will definitely check it out now.

Good comment 👏
Man, you are right, having some historic facts about the brand or cars , would have been amazing.

I worry a bit about more hand holding though.

Prove it
Who asked?
@@ChuckDeniyoI did. I am interested in shark facts.
Which one is best for a pet, don't think my tank is big enough for a whale shark unfortunately.
Don’t talk about my mom like that
Will get this on sale. But ACCELERACERS content is very exciting
Music at 3:03 sounds like an abosultue BANGER lmaooo...

I wish we could get a modern Hot Wheels game in the style of Velocity X.

Sounds track isn't a deal breaker. I tend to play while listening to Initial D music anyway.
How many race courses are there?

Any acceleracers?
whenever I see this game, I just want to dig up and play old TrackMania instead.
For me it reminiscent of Stunt GP. Unfortunately I have displaced the CD somewhere. :(
Has the 1st season battle pass started?????
Re-Volt forever!
Hard discount, gotcha
Didn't the first game only just come out?
@@MsQueenOfDance damn. I still haven't finished it 🙈

I can review it in 1 word!
Microtransactions.
You could already buy cars in the first game
I want to play elimination but find no players online wtf
I loved the first one
We will see I guess
I wish they'd just make a new F-Zero game.
Game looks fun, but I'm hesitant to get involved with how grindy the car unlocks sound.

Same!! Played a bit when it got added to gamepass but stopped after a couple hours cause it was so boring!! Definitely not getting this one!!
Exactly is a generic arcade race game with the Hot wheels license.
Wow I like it

Why all the cars look ugly.
because your mom never bought you any
🔥But look like the drifting still sucks lol still crash the wall to easily.. was hoping for more Mario karts type feel with the drifting but oh well
Still a Great game tho 👍🔥🔥🔥
