- Are you sick of never using the Aetherial Shield or Aetherial Staff just because the Aetherial Crown is clearly the better option? Well now you can have your cake and eat it too! No lie. This video shows how to keep the Aetherial Crown while also choosing either the Shield or Staff.

The Aetherium Crest that shows up in the inventory isn't actually the one used for crafting. There's a hidden version in the inventory that's given to you via a script. So duplicating the crest doesn't allow you to make more artifacts, it's just cool to have.

For everyone having trouble getting a working Aetherial Crown, after deadload duping the crown before crafting one of the items:
1. Drop a crown on the floor.
2. Keep at least one crown in your inventory.
3. Craft the Aetherial Shield or Staff.
Hope this helps! Verified on my Nintendo Switch.
Since after dead loading gave you 6 aetherium crowns would stacking them on your head dupe the standing stone bonus? Could be a great way to get 100 aetherium crowns. Grab the lovers stone and level your skills super fast.
I don't think that's how it works, but you're welcome to try.
@@Sickliff it depends on if the game checks if your wearing the crown and if yes applys your previous standing stone on it or if it enables it like an enchanting effect allowing it to be stacked. I’ll check and re-edit this comment when I find out.
Edit: it did not work. Spawned in 200 aetherium crowns. Gave the perk to make it work and it acted as if it was 1 crown. No exp gain that should have been noticeable with 200 crowns activated. My guess is the standing stone is really a perk and the aetherium crown just allows you to use two of those perks at once.

yeah and I'm definitely gonna make use of that when I get the crown but I'm leveling my skills and without an xp boost greater than the theives stone it's taking forever.
Something similar to this that I have found is that you can do this to get the skull of corruption without killing Erandur, except while getting the crown works because its a permanent object (I think) the skull of corruption works because its sitting in the room, and highlighting one instance of the object lets you pick it up in the save before killing Erandur (also I think). Also I love your videos, and dead-loading has made replaying skyrim worth it, getting to try and collect things I couldn't otherwise get has been a lot of fun
Glad I could spice up the game for you! I actually did know about the skull of corruption and Erandur before the Aetherial artifacts, and I was planning to make a video about it at some point. Kudos to you for figuring it out independently!
Just for fun, I decided to try this out, and it worked to great success. I mashed during the entire loading screen, and ended up with 71 Skulls.

Hi Sick thanks for finding it for us, something I learned on the side while trying this glitch. It turns out that it is actually possible to keep all three dwarven crowns from the forgotten seasons questline. After forging one crown, what I did was the armor duplication glitch from the other video you showed us. The one with the shadow, then you can recycle them at a forge and make the other two crowns.
Oh that's neat. I actually haven't played forgotten seasons yet but I'll have to try that out.

I found that the same glitch to knock dawnbreaker works to knock out too. But you run a chance of it glitchin through something or knocking it into the lava

Using this glitch broke my Crown. Wasn’t able to get two effects. Really wanted multiple to decorate around my house.

i've been trying to figure out how to get the volkihar vampire items while still joining the dawnguard (i never join the vampires)... i wonder if deadloading could be applied there????
Oh, I guess this is possible because the Aetherial Crown is a permanent item but the shield and the staff aren't.
Yeah, it has a static reference ID (one that doesn't start with ff)
@@Sickliff so i guess that means i cant do it to get a whole bunch of the shield during the deadload and then just craft one of the crown after?
I swear like half of the AE houses have a display slot that requires the shield... I dont even like the shield but it bugs me to leave it empty....
@@xtreemgamer129 You can dupe the shield using the normal follower dupe method. Drop it outside a city gate, order a follower to pick it up, then exit and return through the gate for a chance of a duplicate on the ground.
@@SickliffYou can dupe both the staff and the shield using dead loading. The problem is that you need to it in a weapon / shield rack, so it is impossible to get qll 3 items in a single playthrough, as u need to be in the same instanced cell in order for dead loading to work in a previous save.

Picking up the crown doesnt work i tried everything having the amulet off both times having it on both times changing positionings before reloding to pre forge it worked 2 times but i wanted motlre than i was getting and i did the same set up but now it doesnt work

Skyrim: have a quest breaking bug you've never experienced before that stops you getting into the forge.

@@Sickliff Got it to work on a new new character, but only with scathcraw like you said. Tried it with nightshade and nothing happened. Not sure why. Also never knew the shield gives a short fear effect as it's the first time ever using it.
@@jasonchamberlain1405 Nightshade has a damage health effect, you need the ravage health effect for it to work.
Hey, do you know how to start the quest “The Wolf Queen Awakened” without levelling up? I don’t know whether that’s the only quest that requires you to level up to progress but from what I found online it’s not that simple to bypass it for this quest or any other that could require a level up.
Unfortunately not. I did bring it up in Apocrypha but no one else could think of a way either. Maybe in the future though
Sick video as usual. Quick question but, I did this and got my crown and shield but after doing it this way the crown won’t activate a 2nd standing stone and idea why? Did it on console if that helps lol
Which console are you on? I've had some reports of it not working on Switch but haven't been able to confirm yet. Make sure the crown is in your inventory when you craft the shield/staff, since that activates the crown's hidden quest that handles its enchantment.

I did this first try and was spaming pickup when dead loading. it gave me 4 of the crowns
because it works, maybe I can do other experiments like duplicating other interesting items

I know what I’m bout to say is gonna be wack but I’m playing my first play through of Skyrim and it took me a couple times to do the glitch. Basically I qicksaved after and had the amulet on. Then did the while process right and when I did the glitch I had 4 crowns. No idea 🤷♂️

Doesn’t work for me, everytime I load the save from before I use the forge and go to spam interact to get the previously dropped crown nothing happens, I just load back in with no crown

That Aetherium Crest isn't used for crafting. There's a second version that doesn't show up in your inventory.
I've always wondered if there was a way to get more than one of these. Hope someone finds a way to get all 3

Do you know by any chance all of the static id items? Would be pretty neat to know what items can be dead loaded into other saves
I don't have a list of all items with a static ID, but generally only items that start out as part of the world can be dead loaded. Items that are dropped by the player or spawn in random loot cannot. However, certain artifacts or unique items can be dead loaded even after being picked up, such as Auriel's Bow or the Aetherial Crown. You'll have to experiment to see if an item works with dead loading.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is preventing you from using the glitch to obtain all 3 artifacts? Is it reliant on the size of the artifacts so that only the crown works?
that crown is equivalent to a daedric artifact
If you're going to use glitches might as well just make a console command and make the item magically spawn in the inventory right?
Would this work with something like the Rueful Axe?
Haven't tried personally but there's a 50/50 chance. Depends on whether the item uses a static or dynamic item ID. Aka whether the ID changes between saves.

hello and thanks for the awesome vid to help with the items, just having a problem trying to obtain the atherium crest as im not sure exactly what to do different. any help would be very helpful.
After using dead loading to keep the crown, make another save, then look at the forge and do the same thing you did with the crown: eat the scathecraw and load the save you just made, then activate the forge in the loading screen. This should prevent the crest from being used, and you can craft the other artifact.

@@sean_the_insane9571 You still make the other artifact. The Aetherium Crest used in crafting is not the miscellaneous item that you see in the inventory. There's a hidden, second version.
@@Sickliff aww ok. So after I make the tiara and the shield I just try again on the forge to get the crest? Bc I’ve tried it after gettin 2 pieces but cnt get the game to save and have more of the scare item to deplete my health
@@sean_the_insane9571 After you make the Crown, before you make the Shield. Make the shield after dead loading onto the forge to keep the crest. Doing this should keep all the scathecraw in your inventory at the end
After all this time its finally possible to get 2 items from my favorite dawngaurd quest, can't wait to use this in an ultimate dwemer build. I wish it could be done with all 3 but beggars cant be choosers.
Yo so I succeeded at doing this the first time, but now I can't do it again. I've been trying to get the duped crown, and it fails to pick up completely. I've retried doing it a multitude of times and the fact I can't do it again, even though I succeeded first try my first time, and now I can't after a lot of tries, I think I just broke my game or something. Is there any tips or help you could offer?
For anyone wondering, Thudnok came into my Discord server and I looked at their save manually. On my game, it seemed to work fine. I'm unsure what the difference between our installations is, and I don't know why the same save would work on some systems but not others. Further research is required.

ok I've just got an idea but it entirely depends on how the game handles iding items and the like, what if you took a dwarven spell rood/dwarven sheild with the same id as the atherium item once it was forged?
set up the glitch with the standard item you brought, create the atherium item, then put it in the same spot as the standard dwarven item and preform the glitch proper. I have no idea how you would even check for stuff like this or if It would even work but would anyone be willing to try this unless the atherium sheild and standard dwarven sheild fall under 2 different item classification tags.
It doesn't work because the Aetherial Crown has a static ID number, and the Shield and Staff do not.
@Sickliff but my theory requires that the rod and sheild don't have static id, unless you mean they have there own unique id system.

Just needs to get you under you actual max health. You are not supposed to die.

I tried doing this and was having trouble, so I eat all scathecraw until I die then go to load the save right as I get kicked from my inventory from dying, I have the amulet on so what am I doing wrong? Is it cause I’m not down to 10 hp from wearing the amulet instead doing all 510 health
Yeah, you aren't supposed to die. Your only remaining health should be from Fortify Health effects.

The crown is the only one of the artifacts that can be dead loaded into a previous save.
there's text in the video that says only the aetherial crown can be deadloaded into a previous save. It isn't explained why, but considering Sickliffs absolute bonkers ability to glitch stuff, I have no doubt that he's telling the truth and tested with the other items.

@Sickliff what about if you use a follower then? Even if it doesnt show up in their inventory, wouldnt they still be able to equip it if the dead loading worked properly? Isnt this kinda how items like the giants club, ash spawn war axe, etc. Work? Or am i wrong? (Im probably wrong, idk muchwhen it comes to how skyrim works)
I finally got around to doing this quest and I got both the staff and the crown, but the crown just doesn't want to work now, the game won't let me have 2 stones if I have it equipped. Does deadloading the crown and getting a stack of it break it? Whats odd is that if I switch stones without the crown equipped, I get the normal messages in the top left corner about the stones being added/removed but if I have the crown on I get a text box saying the previous stone was removed instead, but only for certain stones it seems
The crown must be in your inventory when you craft the staff, otherwise the post quest Aetherial Crown script won't activate. Other than that, check your spells to verify whether you actually have 2 standing stones. The messages can sometimes not correctly show all the stone activity.
@@Sickliff I must've not had it in my inventory or something even though I think I dropped it and picked it back up to clear the stack of them, but the saves where I got the crown are already gone so I guess I'm SOL

This seems awesome, but I'm currently trying to do it in my Nintendo Switch, and it isn't working. Do I have to use the Scathecraw specifically? Also I'm using Insulated Dargonplate Helmet (Legendary) with an enchantment that gives me 50 extra HP. Or is this glitch PC exclusive?
Scathecraw is the only ingredient with Ravage Health as it's first effect, so you have to use it unless you want to make Ravage Health potions. Dead loading should work on Nintendo Switch, however I have had some reports that the Crown won't work when this method is done on Switch. If you decide to keep trying, do let me know how it goes, and I'll be here if you have any more questions.
@@Sickliff What's the best way to get Scathecraw easily? And like a lot of it. I have over 200 HP, and that's without the Helmet, and if Scathecraw does the 2 damage as you said in the video, then I need around 110.
@@bronzeinkwell2590 you can collect over 60 scathecraw in the area around Raven Rock alone, then you could start duplicating them with a follower or just search solstheim for more

@@Sickliff Yep, just tried to get Warrior and Lover, didn't work, tried Lover and Lady, didn't work. I guess while you can get the crown in the dead save glitch, you can't get the effects. This makes me sad, as I really wanted to have that staff with me, but oh well. Thanks for all the help though! Now I just have to figure out what to do with the 130 Scathecraw I harvested.
yo I just had a crazy theory on how to get all 3 atherium items, once you have the crown immediately leave the dungeon go to a weapon rack and save infront of it then go back and get the staff then go back and put the staff on the same weapon rack and then do the glitch loading from the save infront of the rack. I'll be getting the last shard soon and will test this myself but if anyone does it before me let me know.

@@undeadreborn4867 sorry what I meant was the glitch worked I was able to get staff and crown unfortunately there was another glitch which made the crown unable to hold two standing stones so I decided to get the crown to do a different glitch which is to make the crown hold all the standing stones and I mean it's working I have multiple standing stones but not all idk what I'm doing wrong or what I'm doing sorry if you still don't understand and for me misinterpreting the meaning behind my sentence

Just posting for future readers. Im on switch also and i cannot get more than one standing stone. The glitch does work i was able to get the crown and shield but the crown effect doesnt work. And yes it was in inventory when created. If there is a switch player who has correctly done this and your crown works correctly too pleaseee let us know. Mail me too ❤❤

@@Sickliff Yea, I just tested it and a nother thing I just discovered is that only one Crest at a time can be present in the world and if a second one is thrown on the ground the first one vanishes.
Now if only the aetherial crown would actually do anything - even without doing the glitch

Should work on any version as long as you have Dawnguard.

Yeah River Betty doesn't work because it has a Damage Health effect, not Ravage Health

Make sure the crown is in your inventory when you craft the shield/staff, since that activates the crown's hidden quest that handles its enchantment. I have had reports that this doesn't work on Switch, but haven't confirmed that yet.

Yes, I just checked it out. I was using equilibrium because I Got 1000 HP, so I needed 500 Scathecraw. But did it this way and worked out. Thanks. It's a same you can't get the Three of them. But I think that's too much to ask

Only the Aetherial Crown can be transferred using dead loading

@@curvingfyre6810 When you craft the Aetherial Crown, the one you make is replaced with one that's stored inside a test cell. This is required for the enchantment to work because Bethesda spaghetti. The copy in the test cell is present in every save, so it can be dead loaded.
