I think the idea of using the shower curtain over my sewing machine, and long arm to keep, dust off is a good idea.

Yes, that is a good idea! I use old sheets to cover up my cutting and pressing areas which is where the cats seem to prefer to be and I have covers for all my sewing machines. Thanks for the tip!

After ripping seams I use a dollar store lint roller to remove threads. Saw that hint on TikTok and as a new quilter I can confirm it works😂

A great dollar store find is the Teflon pot scrubber (2 in a pkg) which I use for removing pet hair on quilts, quilt blocks, couches, bedding, car seats, etc! Also good to use on cutting mats to remove threads or batting bits after cutting batting!

I buy the foam toe separators used for painting nails as bobbin storage (even though I get funny looks sometimes). Four bobbins will fit in each foam. If the bobbins are threaded they will not unravel and I can sort them however I want. For a very large project I can wind off 4 bobbins plus one in the machine and have them right where I need them. The foams fit neatly into a plastic box with a lid so they can be out away and I can see all the colours at once.

Just introduced to your channel! I use cheap zip top bags to hold projects. Like my hexies are by color/flowers, another project has the cut pieces in individual bags and so on. Since they’re cheap, they don’t seal as tight, so the fabric still has airflow. But never seen a house panther at the Dollar Store - good find!

Nice ideas! I know what is *not* helpful in a quilting area-a cat, LOL. Ask me how I know! Cats seem drawn to quilts. I would often find my cat sleeping on top of a quilt in progress. I've used a flannel backed table cloth from a discount store as a design wall, works beautifully! A beard trimmer as seam ripper, wow, never would have thought about that, very cool, thanks so much! ~Cynthia

Be careful with sealing cotton fabric in an air tight container. I use the zippered envelopes but don’t seal them tight. Without air the cotton will develops a moldy smell that will not come out with washing or any other way.
