2:10 - Yes! Marcille changes her hairstyle frequently in the manga. I think she already mentioned in passing that doing her hair helps her meditate and prep spells.
I love how each episode has dishes in the title... until you get to Orcs. And then you seriously question yourself it they're really going to eat Orcs.
Demi humans is one strange line to cross. I'm glad they didn't try to eat one other than... Well it's a spoiler but I'm glad they didn't eat that many demi humans
@@dopiley Different world, different orcs. In Mukoda anime, orcs are wild boar on two legs and often hunted for their meat. This one however, Orcs are nomadic races who had settled in dungeon. Actually, this didn't ring true in my mind, so I looked it up - sourdough starter is yeast and/or bacteria. It's used to make the bread rise, but takes a while to cultivate I think. Water and flour are just what the dough is made up of
I'm happy that they adapted this episode well, and one of my favorite chapters, it shows how the senshi alone keeps the dungeon running, if it weren't for him everything would be a mess and without taking care of the golems the ecosystem would be destroyed and monsters would invade the surface In the end he's just a nice guy who wants to live his way
lol, speaking of eating orcs, once time I was playing DND with some pals, and my player, chaotic neutral monk who grew up in the slums, was hungry at the time, so, when we were ambushed by a load of orcs when we got near a death god's church, he calmly suggested eating them while licking his lips. though, he wasn't the most moral guy, lol.
You wouldn't think a show about cooking in a giant murder pit could have so much depth, but this show will surprise you. They're going to interact (barely) with another competent party next episode, can't wait!
13:15 side thing: in the pathfinder tabletop rpg (also video games kingmaker and wrath of the righteous, also closest competitor to dungeons and dragons) lore is similar here. To shorten it: in pathfinder main world lore long ago mortal races controlled by creatures called algotthus (aboleths, deep sea psychic fish creatures) but as mortal races learn magic and fought back the algotthus call upon a weapon from space. It was a meteor that came crashing onto the planet and caused age of darkness. The dwarves that lived in the darklands (underdark, deep earth etc) were told of a prophecy that when the earth trembles they must March up and claim the sky. As they continue digging up they force other inhabitants to the surface with one being Orcs. Orcs also native to the darklands lost their homes due to the dwarves attack them to make space. Eventually the orca were forced fo the surface and during the age of darkness any surviving mortals saw them and ran in fear or attack thinking monsters were spawned from the meteor fall. Orcs no choice to fight back fo protect themselves and in a world they are not familiar with at all. This caused years of strife and scars to them. Eventually in current lore many orcs are now accepted thanks to some dwarf kings agreeing their ancestors were at fault for forcing the orcs out, and during the war against the whispering tyrant, a lich name Tar-Baphon many orc clans helped fight back against him and his undead army. In the recent remaster core book full blood orcs are now a playable choice for players to be at lvl.1 if they wish.
Considering the creator of this series is a big fan of pathfinder video games and other crps I wouldn’t be surprised if they took some inspiration from that rpg into creating the background lore of delicious in dungeon.
Yeah, they killed the sketchy merchants (brutally) then again, death isn't permanent within the dungeon. So those npcs will prolly be back wandering that floor again.

Iirc she changes her style about 30 times in the first season

Spoiler alert for Campfire Cooking in another world.
But they did hunt and eat orcs in that anime. it taste like pork.

SHE WHAT
I'll have to rewatch this episode 😂
baby orc is so cute and i love the similarity of its piglet stripe pattern.
I love the design the mangaka did for the Orcs, totally original and heavely based on Boars, but without looking like transformed Ganondorf.
It's the original swine orcs from DnD first and 2nd editions. Greenskin Orcs didn't appear until the late 1980s with Warhammer Fantasy.
The baby boar stripes on the child orc was really cool

That fermented stuff in the jar was basically sourdough starter. It's usually made with just water and flour in a container.

Best episode yet. I found it hilarious that the elf used the hoop in her staff to carry one of the cabbages.
you guys are in for a treat if you like this sort of tonal whiplash Dungeon Meshi had in its kitchen 🔥🔥
I like how they present the orc chief with understandable motives and flaws. And the way Senshi slyly manipulates him is funny.
I've said this in another reaction, but I found some of those orc women to be really, really pretty. Certified cuties, truly.
Careful though. Laios ever complimented Zon's wives and the latter mistook him for trying to flirt with his wives.
