- Take a ride on the Ghost Train at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in our 4K on-ride POV, filmed October 2019. The Ghost Train at Blackpool Pleasure Beach opened in 1930 and is believed to be haunted by a former worker known as Cloggy.

I was once fortunate enough to get stuck on this ride. The ride stopped as we were on the second upstairs balcony. This was a great experience as the guys came to get each of us off the cars and we got a very interesting walk through the ride with all the lights on.

I can remember going on it at a young age and that happened to me and I was actually attached to my mum walking out because I was terrified
Omg the first mirror on this I jumped at my own reflection me and sister laughed the whole way around after that 😂

Has to be the best classic ghost train out there. A vintage gem
It’s such a great design. The outside and inside parts make it feel a lot bigger and longer than it actually is. Over 20 years of riding this now
I think the most frightening thing of this is the admission price Blackpool Pleasure Beach now charges you just to go inside. Bring back the good old days when you could just walk into the park and pick and choose what rides - if any - you actually wanted to go on.
As an American it's crazy to see these rides I've only seen on roller coaster tycoon. The game is incredibly accurate

ConnorLovatic At the time of the video that’s right, but a lot of work was done on it over winter so once BPB is back open we will re-do this video.

I'm a fan of this classic ghost train..and I was pleased to see there was a queue for it when I was there last. Cannot beat a classic ride
I queued for 50 minutes to go on this last week. Was worth it.

This is one of the move impressive rides of this type that I’ve seen. I love the way it has several times where you are outside and then brought back in, as well as the extended length.
When I was 7 my dad said everything was real.......so I cried my eyes out

Thanks for not talking at all during the ride. Hate it when people make comments, it spoils the experience. What a classic dark ride!! Wish they had one of these at my local park, I can't ride coasters anymore because of heart issues.

One of my fave ghost trains in the whole UK. So many stories on this being Haunted, i remember watching the team from Most Haunted doing an investigation here. Nice pov cheers for this Scott

I was on it yesterday and was disappointed that the train noise has gone from the tunnel at the end. Still a top ghost train though - love it!

None of the music was playing on this video, either. There's usually some Tangerine Dream.
With things like the car designs, drop and the spinning tunnels, you can certainly see the influence for the _Rollercoaster Tycoon_ 1 and 2 version of the Ghost Train!
I think it would be fair to say BPB had a massive influence in the way some of the rides were designed
And the doors!
I remember a "scary" ride at Playland, a wonderful old-fashioned amusement park near the city of Rye, on Long Island Sound, New York. This video brought back memories of my childhood fun there. Thanks for posting the video!

I have been on this ride many times both as man and boy, but never on my own, lol. Personally I think its the best ghost train in the country and can't wait to go on it again when its fully back up to speed.
I always feel a bit uneasy doing it on my own lol
Probably my third favourite ride ever after 13 and valhalla. Love this ride with all it's creekiness and traditional effects. Pure love ❤

When I went on that, the doors opened and I shouted “MASTER” at the Satan wolf thing-cheered some of the older kids up, the little ones had no idea tho😂

I had my eyes closed the entire time but I opened my eyes just once at that point and as it came at me I screamed so loud, I had an actual heart attack. Now looking at it in the video I think "The hell? That's what scared me so bad?" 😂😂

It reminds me of the old long time gone now (1967 - 1998) "Tren Fantasma" from Montjuic Park in Barcelona Spain. What made it unique and special is that it was built inside a mountain using the cuba war tunnels already digged in 1898 that connected the city and the castle.....so sad it is long gone now....
In year 6 we couldn’t go to France so we came her for our leavers trip and I went on this ride and was the only one who didn’t scream

I never went to foreign countries
I went on this with my sister when I was younger. I think I was about 6 and she was about 12. But she was more scared then me. :p
I’m isolating and next week is my last week but luckily I can go to school on the last day
This brings back memories.These were compact rides that you just got what seemed a long ride.The Goldmine and Alice in wonderland all were great fun and clever engineering.

This brings back memories, used to be my favourite ride when my grandad took me to the Pleasure Beach in the 70’s. He used to call the little roller coaster bit the “switchback”. Sad to see my favourite bit isn’t there any more… the yellow rotating tunnel that used to make you feel like you were falling out of the car. I think that was where the London Underground section is now.

These rides were the best now no artist or sculpture that can work with this. Older machines have to be replaced. Such a shame.
It's much better to stay a classic full of charm than be modernised

On my last visit the train late in the ghost train was out but the sound was working, this time it's the other way around where the light is working but the sound is out🤦♂️😕
And the picture frame with the woman and it's out as well.
To this day I still think this is the most terrifying ride I’ve ever been on Hahah I hate ghost trains! 😭😂

Good 4K POV of the Ghost Train Scott
We used to have rides just like that at the Jersey shore on the boardwalk when I was a kid.. the scariest part about those rides as an adult is that you're by yourself and you never know if you're going to get stuck in there lol
my friend is scared of everything and whenever a door opened or something moved we screamed at the top of our lungs it was so funny

Me and my grandad went on a ghost train at a moving circus in Llandudno, Wales, and the layout was mostly the same, except for that after the second balcony, you went down a steep drop into the station. When we went down that hill, it went stupidly fast, and a cardboard cutout moved to the side and we got sprayed with very watery foam. When we came off, it was also tipping it down.
Please don't ever close this i had my best childhood memories riding this !

I really like the ghost Train and it's probably one of the best in the UK. I haven't done it since it's refurbishment but I'm looking forward to doing it. Do you think it'll be open this season along with the other dark rides like W&G and River Caves?

Funny story. I was about to get on the ride (front of the line) but just as we were about to get on the ride just stopped. Lucky me.
Wow, quite a long ride. The tunnel at the end (the tube station bit) used to be a rotating spiral which felt like you were tipping up and I seem to remember skeletons cycling round in a circle on bicycles. Im going back 40 years.

Love this ride. One of the scariest things about it when I used to ride as a kid was knowing there was a gigantic skeleton on the roof above my head the whole time! The giant skeleton's mouth used to open and close mechanically. Does it still do that?
Sadly not
Only thing that would frighten me about that ride is the thought ide paid good money for it!! That would give me nightmares for weeks!

Upon watching this POV I have learned that the car is in fact, not supposed to tip over at the sharp right after the drop outside like it did for me! Had to push against the wall to get it back on all fours! :D
I do love the Ghost Train. Pity the Imp thing has disappeared from right at the start (didn’t it have a name, Burt, or something. Pity a few of the effects weren’t working. I think the next section due for a refresh is the one immediately after the lift hill.

I rode the PB ghost train back in the late 70s,80s and 90s. Been on it since on random visits since 2000 and 2005. Sadly for me the modern replacements of many of the former moving exhibits is very disappointing. The girl in the coffin,giant spider,The witch,green gremlin outside. Then there's the wonderful voice over which boomed outside and different frightening sounds from inside at different points. It still is my favourite ever Ghost Train though but sometimes you just don't need to change things.

Wow. Last time I went on it was in 1984. It has NOT really changed at all. I remember it had a weird musty smell to it.
On part of it you went through doors onto a balcony looking down into a Cafe with everyone staring up at you, that bits gone forever

A few years go was forced to go on this with my mum coz I was too young to wait or something and I leaped onto her shoulder and cried with my eyes glued shut the whole was round 😭😂😂😂

@@yourexperienceguide it's great for people who like jumpscares and rollers ect but I hate rollercoasters they make me feel like I'm about to explode at the smallest of drops 🥺😂last year I went on the blue flier at the bleauser beach and (my first rollercoaster) and after the first drop I felt like I was about to throw my guts out 😂😂💕

There are some changes in this I love and some I don't, the make over with the start and end I love but that middle bit with gargoyle and shivering skeleton, I thought it was temporally there while they fixed the iron maiden, I love this ride but Id definitely throw some more modern tech in like projections. I think a little trip to Transworld is in order this Halloween, and give me back my dragon entrance, XD

Does anybody remember the part where the tunnel walls used to rotate and you felt as if you were actually moving up the side of the tunnel walls? It now looks like they have replaced it with some London Underground scene with no spinning. Health and Safety at work again.
Realistically it’s probably nothing to do with health and safety. I imagine it made some people nauseous if it was a proper illusion and the pleasure beach wouldn’t have wanted the ride to suffer downtime for the sake of cleaning up vomit.
Yup, it had the spinning tunnel when we went on it in the 70s. I was convinced the car was tipping over and desperately tried to pull my brother back in! And then right at the end there was an 'illusion' when the bricks in the roof fell down on top of you. That seemed very real at the time too, don't know how they did it.. we we're very young!

I wanted to go on it but the cue was so long I didn’t bother but I liked watching it I’m gutted I didn’t do it
For me the queue was 10 miniutes, it looks long but there are a lot of cars on the ride.
Certified classic. There are ghost trains with higher production value but not as much charm
