Ghost Train is a dark ride attraction at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which opened in 1930 as a single deck 'Pretzel' ride, the Ghost Train was rebuilt and designed as an Art Deco double deck in 1936 by Joseph Emberton.
The Ghost Train is famous for being the first ride to use the name Ghost Train. The ride was a dark ride known as the Pretzel and manufactured by the Pretzel Amusement Ride Company. The Pretzel ride named after the rides pretzel-like track layout was not a widely known term in the UK and so the ride was named Ghost Train based on the popular 1923 comedy-thriller The Ghost Train written by Arnold Riley.
Paranormal events have been reported by staff on The Ghost Train and the ride has been featured on an episode of Most Haunted Live. The Ghostly activity has been attributed to a ghost that has been named Cloggy who is believed to be a former ride operator.
To ride the Ghost Train guests under 1.17m must be accompanied by an adult. Speedy Pass is available on this ride but there is no ride photo
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is an amusement park situated on Blackpool's South Shore, in the county of Lancashire, North West England. The park was founded in 1896 by A. W. G. Bean and his partner John Outhwaite and has been family owned and operated since. The current managing director is Bean's great-granddaughter Amanda Thompson.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach holds quite a few records, including the largest collection of wooden roller coasters in the UK, the Big Dipper, Blue Flyer, Grand National and Nickelodeon Streak. When it opened in 1994, The Big One or Pepsi Max Big One as it is also known was the tallest roller coaster in the world. It was also the steepest, with an incline angle of 65° and the second fastest with a top speed of 74 miles per hour.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is also home to Nickelodeon Land and the world's only Wallace & Gromit ride, the Thrill-O-Matic. In 2015 the park introduced Red Arrows Sky Force, a Gerstlauer Sky Fly thrill ride which is the first ride of its kind in the UK.

The little girl at 2:44 used to overturn her head around her back while looking at the rider and thus was the most surprizing and most impressive scene of the ride.
I assume they mitigated the presentation because some idiot parent rider tried the same with his own daughter at home and wondered why the neck breaks so easily *rofl*😵
Saw it back in 1982 loved the way you went in and out of doors very ahead of its time and pleasure beach is amazing

When I win the lottery, this ride is on my to buy list. I shall basically have about twenty ghost trains joined up together! Brilliant!

One of my favourite rides ever at the pleasure beach.
When I was younger I used to be scared of rides like this until growing up and understanding animatronics and Halloween I fell in love with it and the amount of times I’ve been on it I usually go on 3 times every year when I visit the pleasure beach in the summer.
It’s crazy to learn that this ride was the very first ride to use the name “Ghost Train”.
I love all the scenes in the ride too my favourite part is The Exorcist part which is so detailed and the skeletons on bikes which I believe is an old effect.
That drop was so scary when I went on it lol! And really loud
It's is a great Ghost Train, worth going on
