Somehow I ALWAYS pick Alex's review first now 😅 We(car enthusiast) say vehicles are too expensive, but it seems average consumers(not car nerds) elect to buy the expensive versions more. Makes sense.
Being that GM has two full size SUVs that offer the vertical screens, it's neat to see that they chose to make the Yukon unique and not just copy and paste from either the other two siblings
The shiny black plastic on the Denali Ultimate center console bums me out. Wood trim would have looked better, and is far more durable. Heck, even some sort of textured, glare-resistant metal would have been a better choice in that high-touch area. C'mon, GMC!!!!
4:35 I agree the diesel engine option definitely deserves a closer look, initially it would be my preference. 8:20 at this point, anything but a black interior gets my vote! 11:45 love the addition of Night Vision.
I cant abide describing a vehicle with huge plastic bumpers and elaborate and expensive plastic facia, as Rugged or Tough. One slight bump and you are out thousands of dollars, and your Tahoe will look like a grinning Hockey Player
Genuinely even for the base model tahoe I'm looking at a second mortgage payment. Genuinely all but the cheapest, bottom of the barrel scraping new cars have become a luxury vehicle.
2 questions as I am trying to decide between the AT4 ultimate and Denali Ultimate: 1. Does the AT4 Ultimate have the magna-ride suspension or is it just adaptive air suspension? 2. Will the AT4 ultimate have acoustically treated glass and other things to ride just as quite as the Denali Ultimate?
Why in the hell did they do piano black surface on the center console where it’s going to get destroyed by most people. It was so much better before with the real wood. GM and other automakers need to reverse course on this piano black obsession. It’s dusty as soon as you clean it and it scratches too easily.
Exterior looks too busy, not as cohesive as the pre-refresh. Interior seems to suffer from cost cuts. How on earth is there so much plastic in high traffic areas on a Denali? Gross for the amount they are asking for.
Continuing the trend of bad center screens to cut cost and yet they always increase price. The last Denali ultimate was 20 grand more than an Escalade can’t wait to see this time around
I like this brown of the new 2025 Yukon Denali Ultimate, much more than the prior umber brown. The prior brown looked utilitarian or western, but this greyish brown looks more upscale and luxury. I like it. One thing, the new seats of the 2025 Yukon Denali Ultimate and AT4 Ultimate, do they have more padding and bolstering that the prior years, making them more comfortable, or is it only the surface leather that is apparently different? And is that the case with both? I ask that because in this video the Denali Ultimate seats do look to have thicker padding and bolstering, but it doesn't look like the AT4 Ultimate's are. The prior models were less comfortable on long distances, and I heard rumors this would be addressed in 2025. Oh, and I love the new leather seat color of the Yukon AT4 Ultimate, looks black with a bit of red striping of sorts. I did not like that old light black with the brown or tan swatches, too utilitarian as well.
2024 Yukon Denali Ultimate were 100K+ loaded. Expect this one to be 6 figures as well... Id rather get the new Lincoln Navigator Reserve with the massage seats for a few thousand more. Even though i do really love the interior and exterior maybe even more than the new Lincoln.
Ironically the new Chevy traverse comes with LED lights up front and back, Z71 trim, quad exhussts, and a boxy look. So it doesnt seem as distinguished from Chevys as it should be
You’re right, it doesn’t share anything with the Tahoe but shares the same infotainment as the $35k Terrain. I think GMC really flubbed this up by not giving the Denali a different interior layout. Not to mention vertical screens suck.
I actually like the pre refresh better! The only improvement I see are the new seats in the Denali ultimate. The front end is a step backwards - less rugged looking. Hate the new infotainment screen. GM should have left the design alone and worked on improving reliability in this refresh.
Luv Denali ultimate Brown interior (a must have if I were buying). All Yes(s): Column shifter, vertical (below top of dashboard) tablet screen on console, Push button controls, 2 tone color dashboard trim, seats & door panels; simply a beautiful interior. Power train; I'm a 73 yr old, V8 guy. Alex you sure do a great presentation on a new vehicle (homework)
While I appreciate and droll over all the new technology of today's vehicles, I yet yearn for the vehicles of yesteryear that had roll up windows, no air conditioning, no LCD screens, manual cloth seats... and a lower price tag that allowed one to buy a new car every year or two. Yes, today's cars can automatically drive themselves to an extent, cuddle you with vibrating and ventilated seats, and notify you of incoming email... BUT, at least the worry as to where the next car payment would come from didn't exist. And if something did go wrong in the engine, you or someone from the local gas station could fix it, rather then spending thousands on computer parts from China or Korea.
GM actually used to have work versions of these...vinyl front bench seat, second row bench, and steel wheels for people who needed a farm working SUV. I'd love at least Chevy do a work version of this.
Soon we'll have screen instead of windshield because of RUclips reviewers complaining about wanting bigger screens which is extremely distracting and often unrealistic expectations and unreliable plus increase risk of fires and vehicles stop working
That grill is just too small /s No, Alex, it won't be offroad capable. Just look underneath the vehicle from the rear. You will see that the rear suspension lower arms are incredibly low. It has terrible ground clearance as a result.
@@AAutoBuyersGuide I have to disagree very strongly. Go up to the rear of any Tahoekonbanburbanslade. Lean down and take a picture of the rear suspension. The lower control arm is far below the center of the rear wheel and is very vulnerable. Now go take a look at the solid rear axle on a Land Cruiser 250 or LX 600.
I love these trucks so much. I want a Yukon Denali so bad. Only few issues I have with this one. 1. For the love of god, please stop it with the shiny plastics anywhere, they look like the really cheap shit that they are. And 2. A Bose audio in any car is an abomination, let alone in a nice expensive truck like this one. But other than that, man, if I had the money....
I'm guessing those 2nd row captains chairs in the ultimate don't fold down? I doubt many people actually fold the 2nd row seats so it probably isn't much of a loss if they don't fold. It's kind of crazy how the $100,000 SUV is becoming more and more common.
Wt? Nearly everyone I know folds the second row down - for cargo carrying, projects, camping. Every one of these (any SUVs except the ultra $ limo types) over the generations has folded down, I would be shocked if this one doesn't.
I have a 2024 Yukon Denali Ultimate with the Duramax and have three kids under 5 in car seats. I have one second row seat folded down with two in the 3rd row and 1 in the passenger side second row. I wanted the 2025 but I can’t upgrade because I would want the second row to fold down. I don’t really fault GMC for this though. I’m sure they didn’t think someone would be hauling around toddlers or furniture in a Yukon Ultimate. Nevertheless, this Yukon is the best car I have ever owned.
@@davidhowell4887 To clarify I think the executive package seats are the ones that don't fold and that's just an assumption based on the fact that they're essentially the front seats. That package is optional so I am sure the base seats are identical to what you have in your 2024.

Just put a bunch of money into some TLC for my 05 Yukon. I wouldn't trade it for any of these problematic computers on wheels. As soon as one of the screens goes haywire, your vehicle is practically totaled. They NEVER EVER have worked as they should. They are always laggy, buggy, dangerous to use while under way, and just idiotic. Just give me a button or knob that's faster, simpler, easy to replace, and can be used without looking at it. Not to mention you need to be wealthy to afford these turds.
My Grand Cherokee Overland goes into the Adirondack Mountains all the time. I was actually looking into replacing it with this very AT4 now that the diesel is an option. Dirt roads, muddy snowy roads, mountain trails and camping, its exactly what this is for. No ones going baja racing or rock crawling in an AT4. I have seen people go rock crawling in a GC, but I'm not that bold
