I'm 74. After a year and a half on keto, I switched to carnivore 15 months ago. I had myriad of health issues 3 years ago; including chronic acid reflux, sleep apnea, extremely high blood pressure (170/140), pre-diabetic blood sugar levels, and auto-immune rashes on both my legs. I had arthritis in my shoulders, wrists, fingers and knees. I weighed 254 pounds with a waist size of 42. I now weigh 165 pounds with a waist size of 32. During my physical at the VA last month my blood pressure was 127/68, and all my blood tests came back great. Do what works for you. The interesting thing is: 3 years ago my doc at the VA told me if I didn't change my lifestyle I'd be dead by age 74. Well I made it to 74 and I now feel like I'm in my 30's.

I was at the last number of prediabetic and on metformin. My VA doc insisted I go on a statin, which I knew there were issues with so I set about researching it and found DR Ken Berry's video on statins and then carnivore and curing diabetes. That was in June of 2022, at 57 my labs and BP are perfect now! My new VA doc insisted on a coronary calcium scan and said if its anything above a zero he's putting me on a statin! ( I wouldn't take them if he did) Well my score came back a big fat ZERO!

@@davidwelday3276 That's exactly what I did, but I started in 2019 when Dr Berry was pushing Keto. I was keto for a year and half; now carnivore for the last 17 months. My doc at the VA was blown away by both my physical appearance and my blood tests. I've lost 90 pounds since I started this journey. Biggest number changes were blood pressure and A1C, both of which are in the normal range now.

I started carnivore on a lark in August 2022 based on an interview of Dr. Ken Berry with Kelly Hogan. I went cold turkey and started it on a trip to Oshkosh in August. My goal was to get my A1C down, not lose weight. But the first thing that happened was I lost 20 lbs in like 3 weeks and had to get new pants. Then the next physical showed my A1C had dropped. The dowside was that as I lost weight I lost muscle, so I had to start a weight lifting program to rebuild muscle. Things got better as I added fat; real fat, not vegetable fat. I found pure cream cheese helped as it is almost all fat. It also cured the mild gum disease I had developed. We are all sugar addicts from the 60s. I’m 67 and this works, where nothing medicine suggested ever worked with A1C before. I can so relate to this guy. I was never overweight, but the diabetes threat and his experience are similar. It’s a journey and an experience, not a destination. Best of all: no more late night sugar cravings.

Now instead of Jogging Id say sprint do two full tilt sprints say for a hundred yards is better and quicker jogging cuz of the after burn effect. continues after youve done the exercise and will give you six pack abs if you continue this is the latest exercise advice like high intensity short duration training like years ago say lifting weights only its even simpler then that. @seascape185 - I have a rare skin condition. I have scales and create skin at a rate and thickness up to 17 times thicker than 'normal'- and faster than 'normal'. I can see my skin flaking off. The truth is: different areas of your skin shed at different rates, regardless of your age. Your face, neck, hands, arm pits, groin, inner arms and inner thighs are the fastest. They are also your thinnest skin. Your feet, ankles and lower calves are the slowest. And this rate does slow down with age but also changes its rate with the condition of your health. If you are here because of your interest in carnivore and you accept that we are born in ketosis then you might be inclined to accept that as we loose our our health, the rate of our "skin sloughing" also changes. As we regain our health our rate of skin shedding improves.
But what do I know. I'm not a doctor so DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. We can accept what the "experts", "professionals", medical professionals", "nutritionists", 'beauticians", "pseudo-scientists" and everyone else who told us otherwise. It's our life. We must find our own truth.

A few quick tips for carnivore truckers:
Over-the-Road drivers rarely get the chance to get groceries so a freezer in the truck is a necessity. Don't get one of those trucking deep-freezers since they cost a fortune and are low on space. Instead, check out the Whytner brand of mini freezers. They're the size of a regular truck fridge and even have locks on the front which keeps them from popping open while you're driving. Enough space in one to have a few months of ground chuck. You have to keep it upright though so you might have to use bunjees and strap it in that upper-bunk or get creative some other way.
Drop your trailer in a safe place (usually your company's terminal) then bobtail to a Walmart for bulk ground chuck and eggs. Stock up. Use a 34-hour reset to do a lot of hard-boiling eggs for a quick and easy snack. Raw eggs last up to 5 weeks in the fridge, but only about a week once boiled, so only hard-boil enough for a week (keep the rest raw and in the truck fridge).
We're not supposed to use gas-powered cookers (propane / butane) in the truck but I do anyway. Trucker tip: use propane instead of butane. Every truck stop has those green propane tanks, but it's very difficult to find more butane. If you insist on being by-the-book and simply must use electric burners or skillets, most company truck inverters are 1200 watts. Look for max consistent watts, not max pique watts. Also keep in mind, those inverters go bad all. the. blessed. time, and if your only way to cook is electric, you'll be out of luck. Best to at least have a propane backup.
Then, as the guest in today's video suggested, there are always fast-food backup options: McDonalds and Dennys. Some truck stops have a Waffle House within walking-distance but many do not. And Waffle House, McD's, and Dennys, all use vege-oil for their meats. It's fine in a pinch, but we're not out here playing around. Best to avoid it if you can.
Also, for workouts, check out Jeff Cavalier's Athleen-Xero full-body calisthenics workout program (no equipment required). And also consider the controversial X3 workout bar (with bands). Some commentators hate the X3 bar, others like it. But as truckers, we have to make it work. It's lightweight and doesn't take up space. Additionally, I have a nation-wide Planet Fitness membership but as OTR drivers, it's hard enough for us to occasionally get our trucks to a Walmart for groceries, let alone have time to drop by a Planet Fitness. Still, it's a nice option to have. Check them out on Google Maps sat view to see if there is a good place to park the truck. If you find a good Planet Fitness with convenient space for a truck to park, that might make a good place to camp for a 34-reset.
    God speed carnivores!

By the way, RE: gas-for-cooking, it seems the situation has now exactly reversed itself.
You used to be able to purchase those green propane tanks for small camp stoves in any Loves or Flying J, but now, not a single one can be found from California to SC. Instead, surprisingly, TA's (Travel Centers of America) have begun carrying butane canisters! Go figure?!
In any case, the cost of the individual green propane tanks (Coleman) has gone up significantly. As a work around, I've begun carrying one of the big 5-gallon tanks in the truck with me. I figure it has the same amount of gas as about 30 to 40 of the individual green ones. I keep a few empty green ones and refill them from the big 5-gallon tank. Is it safe to have a propane tank in the cab of a truck? I don't know - can't be worse than sitting on two massive tanks full of diesel fuel at any rate. The cost of a swap-out at Loves (just checked today) is around $26. That's for an entire 5-gallon tank! You have to pay 18-something at Walmart for 4 of the 16oz green ones. Do the math. The significant savings as well as the ease of never having to worry about running out of propane is well worth whatever little risk there may be in having the tank in the cab with you. Wrap it in pillows and blankets and bunjees to be safe.
Additionally, someone mentioned frying meat on a burner. This is great if you have a vacant picnic table, but do *NOT* fry in the truck. Grease - that lovely good and healthy fat we need as carnivores - splatters all over the inside of the truck. It not only gets soaked into the seats, it can potentially cause great harm if it makes the floors slippery or blocks the visibility of the inside of your windows (so you can't see your mirrors)!
Far better, I've found, to simply boil, boil, boil. Moreover, at every fuel isle, there is usually a water spigot. Yes, the big scary-looking signs say: "Non-Potable". This means the water hasn't been treated with chemicals. Still, when using it to cook, make sure you bring it to a good hard boil before putting any food in, just to make sure strange critters are killed off. Otherwise, I keep multiple jugs on hand for washing and boiling. Boiled ground chuck tastes amazing, by the way, especially if you fill the boiling water with no-carb seasoning of some sort. Additionally, clean up is a breeze. Simply dump the greasy water out of the window, then wipe out your pot. Done. (I like to dump 90% out but then keep some of the greasy, flavor-water, for drizzling and dipping my meat balls).
While high-fat carnivores might be cringing at seeing all the precious fat go out the window - and I feel ya - it's a necessity. I keep a jar of organic beef tallow on hand for days my body demands more fat. I'll just do a spoonful or so to make sure I'm getting the fat I need. That said, while it's true that boiling the meat leaches out much of the fat, it doesn't leach out all. If you leave the leftover patties in the cooler overnight to eat cold (while driving) the next day, you'll definitely see a lot of congealed white all throughout. Healthy and tasty!
      Good luck and godspeed carnivores!

Great interview, Kerry! Kevin’s vulnerability and transparency were so attracting. I’ve been binge watching carnivore videos since the first of the year, and just when you think you’ve learned everything , along comes Kevin with new info. Especially with what he reminded me about the effect of fat on blood sugar versus protein. I am INSPIRED! For those who cheat and kick themselves I offer something I learned in 12- step rooms: success is getting up one more time than you fall down. We are here to learn and grow ( and love). It’s part of the deal, so be easy on yourself. Thanks, guys!

    Great episode! Very inspiring.
I was full carnivore starting May 2023. I made it 60 days then decided to try adding back in fruit and honey because if you know who.
I had lost 21 lbs in 60 days (200 to 179… I’m 5’11” and likely need to be around 155-160) so I figured what could it hurt. Well, within a few weeks I was eating breakfast cereal in the morning, then McDonalds for lunch, treats like Hostess Hohos throughout the day, pasta for dinner and lots of ice cream. Fast forward to December and I was back up to 196, feeling horrible and suffering from high blood sugar that has went way down during carnivore.
I’m now back on carnivore, day 6 as I write this. Feeling much much better and already having a thinner face (love all that water weight you loose when you start!).
Anywho, starting in December won’t be easy but it is what it is. I’ve made it through two parties already and haven’t broken so I’m sure I can make it through Xmas. Luckily I don’t drink so I don’t have to suffer through quitting that as well.

Great episode Kerry and Kevin I’m 65 I’m nine days in on the diet and my arthritis has gone away. . I have more energy and clarity so far. learning what you guys eat and how you started into it is a big big deal and you’re helping a lot of people you’re helping me. I love your channel. I’ve watched Dr. Chaffey and Ken berry and Sean Baker but some reason you resonate with me just being a guy like me even though you’re younger. I like your guest that he went from 300 to 200 I started at 2:15. I weighed myself the other day and nine days I’m at 2:11 and I don’t even care if I lose weight but now I have a goal of 200 which would be my college football weight which I never thought I would see again but since I’ve started this diet, it’s unbelievable I’m excited, even my wife who’s not really doing it loves to eat the fat, eats the skin and does other things to get fats into her so keep it up. I love your stories. You guys are inspiring. God bless.

I've tried all sorts of diets and exercise programs. I've done the pre-packaged meals, protein shakes, low carb, low cal, low fat, weight lifting, walking, cardio...all with little to no progress. I've been feeling so defeated and like there's nothing I can do to ever change it. I stumbled across a few Carnivore diet vids like Dr. Berry and this channel. After seeing so many success stories and lives changed, I've made the decision to start the Carnivore diet today. I'm still learning and would appreciate any and all advice for beginners.

I kept falling off, it's almost the end of the year. The husband keeps trying to convince me to wait for the new year since we still have holidays coming up. I told him it was just another excuse. I'm tired of being fat and out of shape, I'm tired of not having the energy to play with my daughter. If not now, then when? When will we stop using excuses and just take back control of our health? It's hard when you have a family to cook for, and they don't wanna eat the way you eat. I've fallen off so many times because it's exhausting. My heart keeps telling me it's time, so I'm going to start today! It's not perfect because I've had both coffee and honey. I guess today will be more animal based, and tomorrow, I will ease into it with each day. I'm tired of being tired and tired of making excuses.

Just watched 'Society of Snow' about the Uruguayan rugby team that survived a plane crash in the Andes. They were sure that if they didn't have any food they'd be on the verge of dying in a few weeks. Granted, they were in drastic conditions, but this is how we are taught to think. They survived for 2 months - on the dead bodies of their compatriots. It was sad that they had to resort to that to that, but it kept them alive - and strong enough to walk 37 miles through deep snow and high mountains so they could be rescued. It was better than the wine and candy they ate all up first, and their attempts at eating the stuffing in the plane seats.

All the snack garbage is not the way to go imo Now after the changes it seems to be a natural move to more carnivore. To change your life start somewhere Keto or carnivore anyone can do it. If keto just don’t be fooled with substitutes of the garbage that made you sick, keep it clean and very low carb. I’m closer to carnivore now and plan to keep the new way of life forever. I cheated on carnivore 2 weeks ago, for two weeks, and the issue did not reoccur even with the bad diet. My gut actually healed. And I was on carnivore off and on for like a half year before that. This diet puts in work.
Also, I had to get 70/30 burgers because seriously 80/20 was not enough. 70/30 I have to handle a bunch of grease on the grill, but I have energy to do that instead of feeling depressed like the universe is conspiring against me (because I had no energy).

Now as I go I'm watching everyone get stronger. I'm getting stronger. I have to remember I'm older. I did tweek my back. I'm not worried. I'm taking in everyone's testamonies and I trust I'm doing the right thing.

I was listening to this going down the road. (I am a truck driver.)
Someone asked about healthy food choices on the road. I just did a short video earlier today of me air frying burgers while my wife was driving. lol
That is a little unfair though because most trucks don’t have the extra living space that I have. I have a big microwave, countertop stove, and a sink with hot and cold water, HOWEVER I think standard semi trucks will usually have a generator, and when the truck driver is parked he can power a skillet, and fry any meat that he wants. He probably has a small fridge too. Years ago when I did not have a sink i would clean my skillet with an orange spray. (I also had to wire an inverter directly to the truck batteries so I could power a microwave or skillet. Nowadays though I would bet that the truck driver will have the power from inverter to power a good skillet, and he/she can eat meat!! 😀
My wife, and I rarely go out to eat! Also I have done some short videos in the last week showing how I can “lift weights” in the cargo box with bands!

I am doing this woe for my health. When I think about it in the way of losing limbs or eyesight or organ failure etc it put things in a different perspective.

It was hard to get my mom to start carnivore, but after having to take her to the hospital on thanksgiving cuz she was having issues with her COPD, I showed her what the American lung association said about carbs and it causing carbon dioxide production in your lungs and she finally decided to try it.

Ive had similar results as both of you. I lost 75lbs this last year using keto, IF, animal based and carnivore . I seek the sun, i workout 2 or 3 times a week and never get tired or seek any kinds pre workout. I hardly ever get sore. My testosterone nearly doubled. Ill never go back to eating the SAD diet

23 minutes in and loving this interview. I tried the CD in October 2022 until the new year of 2023. I did it not for weight loss, but because I had researched how to cure Tinnitus naturally. I came across a guy who was helping people, and one of his tips was YOU HAVE TO EAT MEAT. He said during Tinnitus on a vegan diet is very hard. Not impossible but hard. Up until October 2022 I had been vegan, raw vegan, or only eating meat about once a week (at most) for 11 years. I was getting sicker and sicker and didn’t really put it altogether. I had been gaining weight and had all the symptoms of premature menopause (at only 38). I had bladder cancer at 37. I could NOT lose the extra 20 lbs my body put on because of the hormone changes (due to the premature menopause). When I switched to the CD I dropped 18 lbs without trying. I actually stopped working out during that time. My Tinnitus drastically improved. I slept better. My chronic sinusitis cleared right up, and the nasal polyps went away and my smell and taste returned (two sinus surgeries for polyps, and the polyps blocked my smell for years). In January 2023 I fell off the CD and then over time things started to get worse again. So, now I’m six days into the CD with no cheating (except my coffee). This interview is inspiring me to stick with it this time. I truly believe some people just function better on animal protein.

With you all the way! It's incredible what is healing for me on the carnivore path.
I believe that we women really need a lot of fat to build proper amount of hormones. I am 7 weeks into it, with numerous chronic issues completely vanished. Not everything is perfect, since my country is swamped with tons of really annoying virusses and bacterial infections. So on top of starting out on this, I've been sick too. But sick with a clear head, no stomach pain, no joint pain, healthy regular cycle (42 yrs), I feel likr I've finally found a path that actually heals me.
      I can't really work out, it feels too stressful 😂 but I CAN jump and skip rope again, so it's a l l g o o d ❤

@@ruthanna4713 that’s amazing to hear! Sorry about the bacteria and viruses and being sick. I pray your immune system becomes strengthened, and those things aren’t even able to affect you. Keep going!
