FIFA 17 was such a summer vibe as well. It was so good with the sun in the sky and the proper FIFA songs in the background, and also the FUT champs cards looking back on it were beautiful. Even the walkout animation was the best we’ve had so far.
And then fifa 18 came out, the game was just so dam slow, the soundtrack was trash, the graphics were good tho and the journey was still there, fifa 19 is one of my favourite fifas tho, i just remember spamming the la croqueta in pro clubs it was so fun, and then came fifa 20 and now 21..
Fifa 17 is actually my favourite fifa It was just fun,I never played champs I just played seasons with my cheap team scoring fun goals,I didnt need like 90 rated players to be good I just played fifa and enjoyed it
I got this game two days ago, I still play 21 but I’ve been playing 17 day and night. Nothing tops this game! And the fact it has a story mode with a compelling emotional story like the journey makes it even greater. A lot of love was put into this game

Fifa 17 was honestly the last FIFA game that was actually good and felt influential. The first FIFA since 13 without Messi on the cover, the first FIFA to use the frostbite engine, the journey, the banging soundtrack; 17 was the last game that felt like EA actually tried before Ultimate Team fucked everything over.
@FIFA07Pro yeah, training this year only boosts sharpness and stuff...development plans are what really get players developing, but you also nees to play them and keep them on good form so that they improve faster. If a player reaches their potential in a season they will not increase in overall until the next season...then dynamic potential kicks in and the potential goes up. I had a Firmino that was 86 rated, he scored 30+goals and 20+ assists the first season on Ultimate difficulty and now he just keeps growing(currently on 92 rated in season 2)
I still play fifa 17, I’ve played it since it came out and still enjoy it. For me there is no point in getting a new one since I’m still enjoying this fifa

But if you look at the fifa 22 gameplay trailer critically as an ardent fifa 17 gamer, you would observe that this is fifa 17 remastered literally which is a very good thing for me. Ea will take fifa 17 animations and movement and pretend that it's absolutely new knowing fully well that it is not in fifa 18-21.
my favourite gameplay, soundtrack and one of my favourite career mode. so underrated, the soundtrack and the gameplay. perfect gameplay- fun and good at the same time.
Of course its boring, its the same teams and same players all over. The ONLY difference is the gameplay, which basically will tell you the outcome of the game. I remember fifa 13-16 was just perfect. Never had muddy gameplay and players were so responsive. Remember Robben was constantly getting 9++ rating every game, I think I had him for probably 900 games or so, he was that enjoyable. Miss these times man.

Not to mention aids such as fifa19 ai defending where you could just leave the controller and you wouldn’t get scored on. 14-17 was truly the golden age of fifa

I played a pro on p2p and i smashed him, while in wl he was constantly getting 29-30 wins and I only 20. I have just disgusting delay in wl/dr while he has smooth as butter. I never understood this.

Fifa 17 is so underrated. It found itself the closest to a competitive/casual balance with FUT Champs for competitive players and Divisions for the more casual player (since the rewards for divisions were stale af, making it uninteresting for competitive players. The soundtrack was nice (much better than Fifa 18, 19 and 20, which got repetitive after a month). I liked the idea of greater customization as well (stadiums in the background in particular, idk why they randomly removed that!). The gameplay was quite fast too and not too advanced (simplistic, not having to play Tiki-Taka in the opponent's box to break down their 5 at the back: Joe Gomez, Varane, Ramos, Mendy and Walker on 1 depth, 1 width drop back with midfielders set on stay back while attacking).

I love 17. I haven't played it in a while now, but it was my first FIFA, so of course I'll be nostalgic. It was also when I first got into football/soccer, so that adds to my nostalgic view of the game. It did so many good things IMO

First FIFA I played was '95 (I'm an old geezer), I played '99 on PS, and had a couple versions on PS2, notably '09, and '17 was the first version I played when we got on Xbox One. I say we, meaning my son and I, he was 7 at that time and we played a lot together. Brings back some memories - now he won't touch FIFA. He's into Fortnite with his buddies, and he still loves football as a sport, as do a lot of his friends, but these 11 year olds won't play current FIFA. That to me is another indicator of the decline of the franchise. Never played FUT on '17 but did like the Journey. I actually snagged a copy of '17 for PS4 a while back on a total whim, it is still in the wrapper. Maybe time to load it up - especially since '21 is unplayable for me at the moment... Keep up the good content man.
I do remember FIFA 17 very fondly. The long-shot screamers. The journey was a new thing to experience. The best-looking FIFA of Its gen and one of the best FIFA soundtracks. But when I played FIFA 17 the other day the gameplay felt bad. Their highly advertised new physics engine made the players slow down or even stop and lose the ball as soon as the defender behind them touched them with their pinky finger. The passing awful and the players had a turn speed of a dump truck. The shooting is still very nice. A well-executed slide tackle was very satisfying. Though I still hold this FIFA in good memory.

I created an entire team out of a real team but fictional players or real people in my life for a Career Mode. The team is called WexFried Youth (Wexford Youths the real team). I created a bunch of low rated players and change them in the Bundesliga and it felt so good when those players grew fast to being a bunch of 30 rated 17 year olds to World Cup players and Champions League winners, but when I played it felt so fluid and dynamic. Man that was an amazing FIFA 17 career mode.
This game came out during the time when my intrest in football had dropped, so I actually never bought it - but from this video I can tell that it was pretty lit!

Yeah it was the last FIFA in my life that I actually enjoyed playing. I remember using a simple BPL team with Martial, Lallana, Bailly, Smalling and Butland and still doing well in high divisions. It was the year when I was also playing a lot of F1 2016 and Black Ops 3 but I never felt like I had a lot of catching up to do when I came back to FIFA. Nowadays I feel like I have to grind FUT Champs every week to even have a usable team to play with

One thing I love from playing the older fifas is that you can buy players that are good. Like for instance not Mbappe when he only cost 17 million or such, or players who are older now, and you could still play with them well
I also loved career mode, there were so much players with high potentials, you have the likes of neymar (92 rated and 24 at the time) pogba (88 rated and 23 years old) AND OH MY GOSH, WHO CAN FORGET RENANTO SANCHES, ohhh fifa 17
I remember really hating fifa 17 at the time. I don't know why, but I hated it. but looking back at it now, it was probably the best fifa for the current gen of consoles (PS4 and Xbox One)
tots and totw were much better. not as many promos meant that totw were still useful (they were still lots of promos, but stats weren't so overblown and there wasn't a promo each week like now), and back then we had silver and bronze tots, and every league had a tots, which for fans of non top 5 leagues like me was great as we had 23 tots of our league

I created an entire team out of a real team but fictional players or real people in my life for a Career Mode. The team is called WexFried Youth (Wexford Youths the real team). I created a bunch of low rated players and change them in the Bundesliga and it felt so good when those players grew fast to being a bunch of 30 rated 17 year olds to World Cup players and Champions League winners, but when I played it felt so fluid and dynamic. Man that was an amazing FIFA 17 career mode.
Fifa 17 was the last fifa where there were two different camera zooms on replay mode, I really miss that
The slow and sluggish replay of 19 20 and 21 is unbearably infuriating

Yeah it was the last FIFA in my life that I actually enjoyed playing. I remember using a simple BPL team with Martial, Lallana, Bailly, Smalling and Butland and still doing well in high divisions. It was the year when I was also playing a lot of F1 2016 and Black Ops 3 but I never felt like I had a lot of catching up to do when I came back to FIFA. Nowadays I feel like I have to grind FUT Champs every week to even have a usable team to play with
Nowadays it so much easier to get a good team and everyone has high cards fifa 17 was so good it wasn’t impossible to get a good team but not too easy thats what i love about it

@@viceversa6957 Ngl man FIFA and FUT Champs in particular had so much potential but it just devolved into a repetitive and ultra competitive mode with shit rewards so unless you're trying to go pro there's no point playing it

One thing I love from playing the older fifas is that you can buy players that are good. Like for instance not Mbappe when he only cost 17 million or such, or players who are older now, and you could still play with them well

I remember really hating fifa 17 at the time. I don't know why, but I hated it. but looking back at it now, it was probably the best fifa for the current gen of consoles (PS4 and Xbox One)
Nowadays there's 10 year old kids having something like 300 win streak in the weekend league
tots and totw were much better. not as many promos meant that totw were still useful (they were still lots of promos, but stats weren't so overblown and there wasn't a promo each week like now), and back then we had silver and bronze tots, and every league had a tots, which for fans of non top 5 leagues like me was great as we had 23 tots of our league
