Those Pihlaja candies are oldest product of Fazer, since 1895. It used to contain rowan berries but now only artificial flavor. Tupla is my favorite and most bought of these.
Fazer is Finnish! Glad you found candy you liked even though you don't like sweets generally. Other things: It's pronounced Omar. Geisha is a Japanese word. Old people always give kids Pihlaja fox candy, not many actually like them though😂
Some sticky candies are nicer if you enjoy them more slowly. - just let it melt in your mouth Sip some tea or coffee. Do not forget Karhu III whn you have a beer tasting.
Very interesting video Gio! Nice that you found some Finnish candies you like. Personally I don't understand people who don't like some candies. Candies are ENGINEERED to taste good. That's the point. They are not healthy, but people eat them because they taste good. It is always surprising to hear people disliking several candies. Sure, some candies taste better than others, but candies not tasting good? What? I have watched a lot of videos about foreigners tasting Finnish candy I am surprise how much people dislike some things. I understand dislike of salmiakki, because that's an acquired taste, but Geisha and Fazerina chocolate tasting bad? That is so surprising! Another thing I have notice is people are almost proud of disliking certain things. Why would anyone be proud of not liking strawberries or mushrooms? There are foods I don't like for whatever reason. I am not proud of that at all! My favourite Finnish candy? Hard to choose, but Panda makes insanely tasty Lakumix candy bags!
They are engineered to feed your sugar addiction, for people that aren't addicted to or used to a lot of sugar many candies can taste very gross. If you drink beer or smoke cigarettes daily they can be best flavours in the world for you, but for someone who never drink or smoke they often taste bad.
@@juu7064 Children learn to love candies at early age, because they are unable to think about the issues related to sugar addiction and that happened to me too, but once I was old enough to start drinking beer and smoke I was old/wise enough to not make those mistakes.
if I remember correcly suffelli had a choclate coated popcorn variant. Not much of sweet tooth myself, I usually dilite the flavour with some drink myself these days.
This is good and very different tasting finnish candies" -video. I appreciate you did this even you don't really like sweets. And finally this kind of video without salmiakki. 😄😊 do you like liquorice?
I’ve tried salmiakki So I avoid it in this video keeping it authentic a true But the salmiakki Isn’t as bad as I thought but definitely not my favourite but over time it gets so much more tolerable
My favourite candys are old or super salmiakki and sour sweet candies, it was fun to see you taste all kind of candies, I have same opinion about "vihreät kuulat" love hate relationship =)
Taste of "Vihreät kuulat" is pear!? imo, those are not sour, but too sweet, pure sugar. Taste of "Pihlaja" is literally rowanberry. We call them "kettukarkki" = "fox candy". Old school granny candy.
You can try Fazer mint melted with hot chocolate it is so good. There is also drink called mint cacao but as you don't use alcohol this is is good alternative.
Fun fact; Suukko means "a kiss". These chocolates used to be clled "neeke*in suukk"o or " a ni***rs kiss ". They deleted part of the products name and a mildly offensive picture from the package in the 2000s. Also the vihreät kuulat (the fancy green box) is a typical christas time snack and its often given as a present. Its also a +100 year old product, hence the fancy packaging. The flavor is really a classic, it can be often found in pastries etc. Its a marmalade.
They taste really similar though. And if you go the microbrewery route they taste quite the same all over the world. What I mean by that, most of the variants like IPA, jipa, stout, Porter, ale etc etc etc are made all over the world so they are not distinctly Finnish. If you want something distinctly Finnish you could try lonkero aka gin longdrink and sahti.
Maybe some berrywines from Finland ... And .... I can't think of too many distinctly Finnish drinks.... Salmari of course but you said you didn't want salmiakki
Suukko with coffee flavour is my favourite, Suffeli and Kismet are very good also.. and some salmiakki like noitapilli, turkinpippuri, vanhat autot. I hate all sticky or sour candies.
Respect that you are honest😊 I myself don’t like anything too sweet. Suukko = kiss are many different tastes and I love them. Try sometimes mild liquids, not a strong ones first. They are not sweet😂g
how to pronounce Fazer in this commercial: ruclips.net/video/KyF8s6QoZBs/видео.html My fav from Fazer is Fami chocolate bar. If you dont have a sweet tooth then maybe you should try different Salmiakki. Or just go straight to savory snacks like potato chips or pastries.
Yes, it's not pronounced 'feišer' - it's said 'Fatser'! 🤭😁 In Finnish, 'z' is pronounced 'ts'. 😉😊 And 'a' is always 'a', like in English word 'house' the 'o' is pronounced. Not like 'ey'. 😂
It would be nice if you read (at least) the (main) ingredients for your audience, so we would have at least a clue about what you are eating, what the candies contain of! 😂❤ - You know they are in multiple languages on the back of the packages - usually in English, too! 😊 Some vloggers, while doing food tastings, even search the Internet for some background of the items: when they were invented, why, and so on. For example, the green balls have some interesting background histories - hence the crown! 👑 A short history might even be on the package itself..? 🤔😃
He's been here for like 2 years or more and still cannot speak or understand Finnish. When he came here, he boasted to everyone how he'll learn the language in 6 months. 😂😂
Dumle be like "oh you not going to like me before even trying me?! well then....I'll make sure you'll never be rid of me!" Pätkis is my fav tbh. I go nuts over mint chocolate :D Kismet and Suffeli are wafer chocolates. Fun fact, the Brunberg kisses (the "ghost" chocolate) is made in my hometown of Porvoo. I recommend visiting the factory here if you ever come back south one day, it's always fun to do taste tests and try the things there :D

I think the chocolate is really good here, but most of the Fazer (fah-tseh-r) candies are all around good, as is licorice and salmiakki.
"I'm not going to like this", he says, and continues to eat the whole thing. 😂
Fun fact Suukko was originally called n word's suukko!

Tupla was solid!!!!
Pihlaja/kettu and green balls were always the only candy grandmas and grandaunties used to serve 🤮. da-capos would have been much better
Kettukarkki - a bit of something with a hint of perfume
@@GIOBOZZ I agree. I every sense of SOLID :D
@@GIOBOZZYou should try Tupla Crispy Puffs 👍🏻
You’re supposed to snap the Tupla in half to open it, it makes a pop-sound
The tupla bar
Suffeli Puffi is like popcorn. First you take like one or two at a time and a minute later you're shoving whole handfuls in your mouth 😄

My great grandmother who was born in 1901 used to offer me Omar candies every time I visited her. That stuff is old school.
😮
Tupla is meant to open from middle of that bar. It cuts open very easily just pulling.
not pulling. you snap it in two with a fast movement like a twig

great, not everyone has a love for all kinds of sweets but this was fun to watch, minus you not opening them correctly :p
Yup, Tupla opens by splitting it in half and the Fazer's candy bags open from the corners. 😁
How can Americans not like sweets? I like all of those. Tupla is amazing. I found those in Canada few months ago and brought some home.
Tupla means double
You don't like Fazerina,but like Hersey's vomit choclate🤣
how about liking both :)
I love your honesty!! :) You make amazing videos. 💙🤍
It's fun to watch how you open the bags 😁 In the corner of the bag it says open here so it opens a little easier 😁

"I hate sugar" he said, and liked very much the Suukko (kiss) which is basically just foamed sugar :D
Thank you for your sacrifice though, I can see you do not enjoy sugar too much :D
The green balls should be pear flavored.
It is pear. And it's not even sour. I don't like them because they're too sweet for my taste, plus I'm not a big fan of jelly candies.
The green balls are pear flavored, not lemon or lime. 😅

Yes, 'suukko' is a kiss (one of those things). 'Suukot' is in plural: kisses. Because there are many of those kisses in a box. 😊
