Most of the homeless in Warrington are offered homes and don't want them, or at least were. My ex was a homeless advocate for a housing association and there was a house at rhe back of where I used to live which was given to one of the homeless, he left it open and invited anyone to use it as a drug den, within a month it was utterly trashed and unlivable and he went back to living on the streets. You can't help those who don't want to be helped
Warrington was a half decent place, many people from both Liverpool and Manchester moved there for work back in 70s. Its not a place to visit anymore. Lot of homeless people near the bus and Central railway stations. Very sad.
I lived in Warrington between 2005 and 2021 and saw the town deteriorating to this level. It all started when Gary Newlove was murdered in 2007 (roundabout the same time many shops moved into the Golden Square extension which killed the rest of the town centre) then it was crime after crime after crime.
That act by the IRA was horrific and all right thinking people condemned it as the murder of innocents. We also have countless memorials over here in Ireland dedicated to innocent children murdered by the British army. Thankfully we live in different times.
