I am shadowing for a cemetery sales position in a funeral home to get my foot in the door this upcoming week and was so happy to find this video on your page!! Your videos played a big part in solidifying that this is the field I would like to go into and I’m hoping it all goes well and if I enjoy it I’m going to finally apply to mortuary school 😁 Thank you for the content that you make and for all that you do!!

Hi Kari, glad to see you're back. The day after my dad's funeral in '98, I met with the family funeral director (who happens to be a close family friend) to plan my own send off. He showed me my options, and itemized the cost of them all, and explained how everything would work. I made my choices from the casket to the music (Amazing Grace, such a beautiful song) to burial site (along side my folks).Everything is in place ready to go. I hope, lol

To some degree, my final preparation is done. Of course the cost of what I chose to have done will ultimately change, do to fluctuations in the economy.

Another informative vidoe. Great to remind people that funeral homes don't hold that money. it goes to a 3rd party. And remind them that they have options and things can change. I've really been thinking about planning and prepaying for my wishes.

I just registered for my last semester of mortuary school and I’m currently trying to find a job in a funeral home (anything, just to get my foot in the door and in hopes it leads to an apprenticeship) and you both inspired me more and gave me some good tips with this video! do you have any other suggestions for first time funeral home interviewees? I’ve heard dress for the job you want, but I’m nervous because I have no idea what kinds of questions they’ll ask! (funeral home assistant, removal technician, etc)

I have a question I'm on SSI & Medicaid in Indiana, how can I setup a plan that will take care of at least some of the expenses? They don't want you to have any of that in your name on SSI & Medicaid. I'm not asking for anything illegal. I was hoping you may know who I could talk to about it.

You make it irrevocable and can make small payments each month

Do I need this for my cremation? And what I want done to my ashes or just tell my family. And how much does this cost to talk about prices?

Tell your family but you can make the plan ahead with the funeral home. IN some states your family doesn't have to follow your wishes

Very informative. I know this sounds petty in light of your content but those mints on the table made my mind go in that direction. In these situations people in close contact makes one want fresh breath. I wish people would opt to put out sugarless mints that way you won’t feel that your teeth need brushing badly. I told you it was petty. 🤭

@@KaritheMortician Do you think pre need with Dignity is worth sticking out ? I’m feeling like I don’t want to show back up . The manager reeemed me pretty hard when I said I don’t have the money to go and buy an iPad for this , I haven’t gotten paid yet and I asked why it was such a big issue to buy right away if I first have to do all the courses for a month or so ? I won’t be out doing this yet - and I asked why we have to do it alone - im a woman and I don’t feel comfortable going door to door alone . It’s beginning to look like it’s basically a vacume salesman soliciting job . Another thing Miss Kari If I can ask you .. is it right to walk up to people while they’re at graves and try to sell to them ? I’m really not sure about this . I want to be in at need . I had no idea this is what it was when I interviewed until I finished all the back grounds and drug test and passed all of that and they didn’t tell me any of this until my second day. I was so excited . How can I get into at need instead ?

Thought provoking, educating people can't start soon enough.Back in the day I remember the "Insurance man" calling round to collect the money and logging it in a book which was kept in drawer. It was never talked about what it was for!...🙄
