I agree. I didn’t always agree with what Don said but appreciated his point of view and the fact he had an opinion. Now everyone is scared to speak their mind.

I mean, I love Don and his long time devotion and contribution to the world of hockey and glad to see him still doing his thing, hockey night in Canada just isnt the same without coaches corner but he'd be absolutely unbearable to listen to all on his own, so I give the co-host some slack since its not an easy job reminding good ol' Donny boy that Orr hasnt played hockey in decades and fans want to hear his takes on current players and situations... not the same old war stories from his time in Boston.

Sharks fan here… Kane has always seemed like a decent guy, but apparently it’s an act. He burns bridges in every city he plays and has a lot going on in his personal life. On the ice, he scores PPG but he takes dumb penalties (lots of them). He only had 9 GWG in 3+ seasons with San Jose, he’d score when the team was already up or already out of the game…never in the clutch.
So yeah, for 1-year and 700k EDM isn’t risking too much. Just don’t be fooled into signing him long term. You’ll see…

I agree with what the Edmonton hierarchy said - everyone deserves a second chance or, in Evander Kane’s case, a 3rd or 4th chance, etc. i hope he has learned from his past mistakes.
More like 3 or 4th with Sharks, just not reported...9th chance more likely. Still a you know what too watching him last night, he won't change, Edmonton just have to save their jobs by making playoffs....Mitch Miller couldn't get one chance.

He’s looking good in Edmonton. We as Oilers fans are enjoying finally having an agitator. The rest of the league just bitter he didn’t pick their team. 6-2-1 Oilers with Kane in the lineup.
Did he really do anything bad last time???? He lied about taking an experimental drug because of personal health choices. The league made him lie because he didnt have another choice if he wanted to play. Now the other stuff before that makes him unwantable.
Cap hit is 2.1 mill not 700,000.Total overpayment and shame in Edmonton for signing this shit show.

It's all relative, dude. NHL players Casey Cizikas, Danny Heatley, and Craig MacTavish all killed someone; they were each convicted of manslaughter or homicide - yet all three had long NHL careers AFTER their homicide convictions. Cizikas still plays for the Islanders today. 18-year NHLer Bob Probert had a litany of off-ice behavior violations and legal issues during the entire time he played in the NHL, yet it never stopped the league from allowing him to play. Kane is a saint compared to what these, and other NHL guys have done over the years. Don Cherry knows the NHL's history and what other guys have done over the years - that's why he said comparatively, Kane "seems like a pretty good guy." Cherry knows about those homicides...bank on it.

Kane should never have been let back into the NHL! is he was a white player he would have been banned for life. Look at his gambling history and his abuse of his wife and he is rewarded for this, our society is a CRAP show right now!
