+CareyHolzman Good job Carey and all the best of luck Carey!, hopefully you will reach more then 1 million subs on your own channel soon! Ill be here to support you :D
Hey Carey love ur videos could you plz do a video on what test should be done after building a new pc for ensuring hardware stability and long term usage congrats on ur new work life 👍👍
Great video Carey. Very nicely done and detailed. Very easy to follow as a person doing a first build. A +I subscribed to your personal channel and very happy to learn a lot more from you !!
I thought this was excellent! I replaced a power supply for the first time ever. I am 64 years young. After watching this, I am going to build my next computer. Thank you very much!
Me too! I still watch his builds. I don't know why because I know what I am doing but I guess I like how Carey rolls. He is the best coach at this in my opinion.
I'm very happy for you my friend !! To think all of those years ago at Radio Shack, I thought that computers were a waste of time. I have a ton of memories of you coming in after school and messing around on the Model 4. I'm sure you miss that 300 baud modem. Now, thanks to you, I've been a tech for about 20 yrs. Gratz on the video and THX for over 30 yrs of friendship !
Seriously though, when I think of building a computer and the authority on it, Carey's voice just rushes into my head. This man is the godfather of PC building and this series will no doubt be great.
Nice job. I started watching you when the repair videos from the island in your kitchen came out. One thing I have always liked about your videos is that you do not go in for the goofy slapstick stuff like some other channels do. I also like it that you take the time to actually read and respond to the comments. Again thanks for making the video and for doing such a nice job.. you are one of the best!
found you!!!! ive been trying to find you for a while now..................jk i don't remember subbing to you ever but i am soooooooooooooooooooooo yeahhhhhhhhhhhh byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
THIS KIND OF A VIDEO IS WHAT PEOPLE NEED...PRECISE AND ACCURATE,WITHOUT ANY USELESS CHIT-CHAT,AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT...THE BEST COMPUTER ASSEMBLY I HAVE WATCHED TILL DATE..KEEP IT UP SIR!!
Thank you so much for helping me on building my first Gaming PC, it was very inspiring to watch your videos, they were well explained. This was the first time that I build a PC. I have to confess that at first I felt overwhelm and intimidated at the beginning. It also help me to complement this video by watching other videos on RUclips, specially with what to do when the parts are all put together, such as installing Windows 10 and also all the drivers. Thanks again for your help and keep the good work. I sincerely hope to watch more of your videos and learn from this experience for a future build.
VAL ARTS can you tell me the titles of the videos you watched that helped you with installing the OS and drives? This will also be my first build but I am nervous about the second part to the build
Excellent work Carey! It has been a while since I watched a Newegg Episode for longer than two minutes. I disagree on the comparison to Bob Ross, he painted within 30 minutes without stops and the painting was done. Here we have cut-scenes. Apart from that I see the image though. A calm and nice voice, a decent level of Information in addition to competence. Even though I did work on my own computers for a while and probably won't build a new PC any time soon (money...), I still like to see Videos like that now and then. One of the most professional videos I've ever seen. I kind of got lost when he started talking about the connections, but that's probably because I'm totally ignorant on rig building. I'm trying to build a computer myself and I've already case + processor right today. If I don't get electrocuted in the process I'm gonna consider myself satisfied.
It was a good refresher. I've been building and tinkering with computers for a good 5 years now and sometimes forget, or feel like I don't know what I'm doing so this really helped as a good refresher.
For me, this indeed was filmed much more professional than what you film at your home, Carey, but it was not as thorough. For example, it was never shown how you plug in the front lights and audio, which may be important for some, and you said to not hook up a KB and mouse on the test boot, yet you say navigate here and there... without any input devices. Also, it definitely is more natural when you talk live on camera like you do on your channel, instead of talking over edited footage with a script.
+oleg_aka_djmeg ".... it was never shown how you plug in the front lights and audio ...." Sure he did. You must have been doing lines of silica gel when that was being shown.
been watching you for a long while on your actual channel. you inspired me to build my first pc and also the first video i watched that fully explained everything i needed to know. you do ana amazing job explaining and the step by step your way, is much better than most.
Thanks Carey. This was the primary how to video I used to build both me and my wife new PCs this weekend after pulling the trigger on parts black friday. Cheers

Watching this on my newly built pc. I can't thank you enough for your extremely detailed and helpful guide. I was nervous as most would be building their first pc, but you made the process easy to follow and apply myself even with different parts and case. The feeling when the fans spun, leds light up and the screen turns on was indescribable for me, thanks again!
This was the best RUclips video I seen ever maybe because it's the only educational video that I watched still makes me nervous thinking about building my PC for my children
yessssssssssss! you are the best, I wish i found your video 4 days ago; that's how long it took me to build my custom PC. 1 day to build and 3 of the longest days of my life to connect the wires. YOU ROCK!!!!!!
I am a new to PC and am building mine while watching. one thing I noticed was I never saw you use the thermal paste. I think this tutorial was the most thorough I've seen, so great job. I just would have liked to see that part as well.
I wouldn't recommend going for the 970, go instead for the 1060 as it delivers more performance for a cheaper price. The SSD at 1 TB is overkill as well, so 240 GB would suffice and maybe an optional Hard Drive if you want to storage your files instead of on the SSD. If money is a problem for the GPU go for a 1050Ti and you should probably get an i5 if you don't plan on streaming as i5 is good for gaming, i7 is more for multitasking, editing, etc. Keep in mind that if the model has a ''K'' in the end of the model serial then you won't be getting a CPU cooler with the CPU.
+quest 8899 Building a pc is seriously not as hard as this guy says. If you're building a pc, I highly recommend finding a friend to do it with. If not, you should use this video as a guide.
Hey can you build me something please. I live in U.S and have a ~750$ budget(Im flexible enough to go 800$),I do not stream, edit, render, etc. I only plan to game. The most graphic intense game Ill play will be Battlefield 1?
I like this dude too - positive, to the point, and informed. I hadn't built a system in ~10 years so I wanted an update on how installation has changed (cpu and cooler are particularly different to previous generations of mobos). Thanks for the useful video.
Hello Vandoeun Long, If you're referring to the sticker with the serial number on it, we would not suggest that you remove it as it would void your warranty with the manufacturer and retailer. Hope this helps! :) -Rella (NeweggSupport)
Vandoeun Long It's up to you if you're RAM company is generally reliable and you don't care to much about the warranty then pull it off, otherwise wait until your warranty expires.
A 1TB HDD is about 40$, a 1TB SSD is about 328$. SSDs are faster so you should install your OS and frequent applications on it, HDDs are for mass storage a.k.a. games, photos, videos etc.
What's up , total noob here , new to the pc world . So far I just ordered my monitor , because it's simple lol but can I just copy this setup in this video for gaming ? I'll just replace the Intel i7 with and i5 , should it be able to run overwatch ?
I watched one of Carey's PC build videos. If anyone wants to build a PC for the first time watch one of his videos. I followed everything he said and built 2 PCs and had no problems.
Nah, the killer is the i7 and the 80-series GPU. Yeah, the SSD is pricey, but the realistic alternative is a hybrid with like a 250-500 GB SSD and a 1-2 TB HDD, which might save you $100-200 but not enough to get that price down to a reasonable range. Go i5 and 70-series.
go to a better power for buck i5-4670k get a ssd 120gb for your OS and maybe some core components on your pc get a 1 or 2tb hdd next to it for all other programs and if you really want to get a 500gb ssd for your games, the GTX 970 is a really good card already but you can always go down to a cheaper variant like a 780, also dont get scared to over do it on the PSU you might only use 300watt in your system so you buy a 350w psu but then assoon as you start upgrading you also need a new psu again just got for a mild to high power like 750w it will save you alot of money in the long run. dont assume you always need more for faster your pc only needs 4gb of ram (64bit) and you are already able to play any game you'd like do you have for example multiple monitors and you start doing multiple stuff on the side and playing games in windowd mode you might start needing more ram go for another 4gb ram stick (always go for same speed same size) and you are ready you dont need 2x 8gb or 2x 16gb because it makes your games faster thats nonsense spend your money on smarter stuff because you wont benefit from any of that also one thing not mentioned the way your fans blow air in or out you want to create positive pressure meaning you put more cold air from outside the case inside just make sure you have more fans blowing IN the case then blowing the hot air out because negative pressure creates heat and thats one thing you want to avoid
Carey, this video is awesome. You have a great teaching style. Two weeks ago I built a gaming computer with my 17 year old. I had never built a computer before. This video was the backbone of the build. I looked at other videos for some specific items but kept referring back to your video. It is very informative and complete. Keep up the great work!!👍🏻
My PC worked flawlessly thanks to your guides. I didn't bother updating the BIOS because i don't have another computer, flash drive, or any extra hard drives handy but i read that it is not necessary to update the BIOS if the computer is working properly.
What should you dedicate the most money into or what's the most expensive in this build? In this build, the CPU comes out slightly ahead in price than the GPU. The general rule of thumb is to put more into the GPU than the CPU when it comes to building a gaming PC though.
Just made my first Computer build ever. Thank you for this video. It really helped me. Like a lighthouse making sure I made it though the build safely. Would recommend to anyone looking to build a computer for the first time.
Extremely helpful!!! My build worked on the first try with help from the video, I’ve never done this before. This was the only video I watched and I probably watched it a dozen times
There's just something so therapeutic about watching someone build a PC. I don't know what it is. I'm saving up to build my first ever PC soon, and I've probably watched this, and multiple other PC builds about half a dozen times. Just because it is relaxing to me.
Built a PC for video editing using this tutorial it fired up on the first try. A couple different components but the steps were similar, this is a great video. Thank you!!
Thanks for all the kind words and support! You guys ROCK!
Great video man. Shout out to NewEgg for making this series with you as the builder! The camera angles are pretty good not saying yours are bad lol.

Oh shit! Congrats on working with Newegg, Carey!
+SixthDestiny Wrong sir, congratz to Newegg for saving this channel by hiring Carey! ;-)
+SixthDestiny he did post a video on his channel about this though
+Nicholas A. This comment was made before that video was made.
yup. :P
+Earnest Bunbury yep treu.
i want Carey Holzman from is own kitchen, not a newegg employe member :(
I thought this was excellent! I replaced a power supply for the first time ever. I am 64 years young. After watching this, I am going to build my next computer. Thank you very much!
CAREY. he was the first video i saw that helped me build my pc with complete confidence.
Same here

+Fraggz99 If I were a graphics card, this is where I would live

he made it look so easy, so I bought the components, now I'm just sitting here scratching my head.
Fredrik Stokke how'd it go?
Well ,it's working, the cable managment could have been better, but I guess it's okay.
Fredrik Stokke well, if youre not gonna show and brag about your pc, if it works then its a mission success
You mean scratching your balls.

I’m studying CNE right now and this makes it seems so easy. Really gets I’d of all the stress
Carey Holzman is a legend, you all need to put some respect on his name.
SK Silva Yes he is the real deal. Unlike the other posers out there. I respect this man a lot.
Yeah quit playin with his name. I ain’t gonna say it no mo.
Excellent work Carey! Ive been a long time Subscriber of Carey Holzman and what differentiates him from other PC build videos is his character and how enjoyable he is to watch and his extensive knowledge. He goes into depths that no one else goes in! Recommend you subscribe to him and watch his videos! Great work Carey! Happy to see you moving up!
Holy shit, Carey is like the last person I'd expect to partner with Newegg (not meant as an insult). Just surprising. Congrats!
I used this vid to build my first computer back in 2016! One of the best and most chill build guide's on RUclips!!
Build your own unique custom PC that fits your needs, both performance wise and aesthetically. That's the fun part of PC building. It is not written in stone that you have to duplicate the same ones you see your favorite RUclipsrs putting together. I know it would make things more comfortable for you. But trust me, the end result will be more satisfying once you realize that YOU personally put a PC together.

Even though I did work on my own computers for a while and probably won't build a new PC any time soon (money...), I still like to see Videos like that now and then. More of it, less of cheap Marketing. That is what Newegg can use to increase sales, rather than random guests or rather low-level-information quick-videos. (Of course, that is purely my own, subjective opinion) Keep it up!
Check out Carey's personal youtube channel for live unscripted build videos, he's really good

He did an excellent job being calm and thorough. And he is a good speaker, not saying "uh" or being annoying or anything. Well done!
NewEgg you've now done something 100% right....that's to get "Carey Holzman" to do your builds. The man is topnotch!!!
Newegg doing right things :D kudos carey!
One of the most informative and in depth PC building videos I've seen on RUclips.
Best build so far Carey loved the camera angles and quality. So you gonna have videos on both channels now?
+Frosted Waffle Yes!
Dear Newegg, Carey Holzman is an awesome choice for videos! No disrespect meant to your current video presenters. However, they are not as good as previous personalities. I've watched this video approximately 24 times while attempting to save up enough for the parts :(
Tim Burchard best of luck to you too :)
Dylan Hodges me too... me too
Think I'm going to start saving for this. by the time I have the money it'll be much cheaper haha
OML SAME
we are all in the same boat
Why is this on my feed a whole 6 years later??
It was a good refresher. I've been building and tinkering with computers for a good 5 years now and sometimes forget, or feel like I don't know what I'm doing so this really helped as a good refresher.
Now this is what Newegg TV is supposed to be about !
+Jason Basagic Thank you!

Triggered ASMR hard
yessssssssssss! you are the best, I wish i found your video 4 days ago; that's how long it took me to build my custom PC. 1 day to build and 3 of the longest days of my life to connect the wires. YOU ROCK!!!!!!
After watching this video, it became clear why my parents made me a console peasant.
jesus
God0fCows my friends have 'gaming pcs' and i have a Xbox and they get like 6 FPS 😂😂
Boltz Gamer GTV You Stupid xbox only gets 30fps, good pcs can get 100fps onevery game
Robert Maniwar i said they say they have gaming pcs when it has 6fps on average i didn't say anything about Xbox having good fps
The Mighty Memes thanks love you too xx
Shit, that's Carey!!! This is freakin awesome!!
You are a godsend! I was able to build my very first gaming computer all because of you. Thankyou for this!!
So if I buy the exact same parts should I do exactly what you do?
Yes.
I would not buy that, better stuff has come out.
i7? unnecessary cash out of your budget unless you're trying to do more than just gaming. (rendering and whatnot)
This is still a great little build and can run any current game at great FPS.
+Curtis Bona this might be late but will it run rust and at what cost
Carey!!!
+Kane Bernardino Kane!!!

michael meza No probs man :)
pcpartpicker.com/list/Xrz2Q7 I have also seen this build and I was wondering if this would be a good build? Anything that would need to be changed?
michael meza That's a very good build :)
This def has to be the best and most thorough walkthrough on the market
Where did you get the optical drive from? I don't see that in the list?
Damn stop giving away how easy it is. Some people make money off of this
haha like him? :p
Yeah, Carey! I would rather pay somebody $100 to build my PC for me! huehuehue (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
+quest 8899 Building a pc is seriously not as hard as this guy says. If you're building a pc, I highly recommend finding a friend to do it with. If not, you should use this video as a guide.

Thanks Carey. Your presentation skills are top notch. The presentation itself was sharp, efficient and effective.

+HB if I plan on spending 1000-1250 what parts should use?(I'm new to this)
yes carey is top tec in my book. HE REALLY GO OUT OF WAY TO TELL HOW FROM BEGIN TO END . CAREY REALLY ROCK
if the bios needs an update is it not possible to install everything on your pc and then go to that website and do it that way?
Negan Lucille your CPU won't be recognized if it's not updated and the CPU is recent
You should build a budget AMD system
I like this dude too - positive, to the point, and informed. I hadn't built a system in ~10 years so I wanted an update on how installation has changed (cpu and cooler are particularly different to previous generations of mobos). Thanks for the useful video.
not seeing Carey's kitchen nor a coke makes this video awkward
I know you wanted to eat that silica packet!
Your guide on electrostatic discharge made so much sense; more so than most of what the Internet says
Question. Can we remove the sticker off the ram sticks? or is that not recommended?
Hello Vandoeun Long, If you're referring to the sticker with the serial number on it, we would not suggest that you remove it as it would void your warranty with the manufacturer and retailer. Hope this helps! :) -Rella (NeweggSupport)
awesome thank you. it's just that you can see the sticker on my build, if only it was facing the other way...
Vandoeun Long It's up to you if you're RAM company is generally reliable and you don't care to much about the warranty then pull it off, otherwise wait until your warranty expires.
Campbell is kingston reliable??
MYSTIC746 GAMES l Clash of Clans Kingston did a bait and switch
Wait! Is having a ssd and a hard drive better then just a single ssd? (Lets say both scenarios have the same amount of storage)
It all depends on budget, ssd's are faster and as a result cost more, though they serve the same purpose.
And do I HAVE to install Windows software? Pretty expensive
Joo PanG! Lol overwatch really???
I watched one of Carey's PC build videos. If anyone wants to build a PC for the first time watch one of his videos. I followed everything he said and built 2 PCs and had no problems.
Wow almost $2,000 for all this
Yeah because of the expensive 1TB SSD.
Juriaan Romkes i went that way
If you search around for the parts a little bit, you can find many of the expensive parts for cheaper prices
What if I don't have ab optical drive?
You skip that step
PayJ then u fucked bruh you better run now before they kill you
No movies for you bruh
Yung Kirk If I wanna watch a movie I eaither do it on netflix/or viaplay or just find it online. Or on my ps3
Ur pc will crash.
Carey, this video is awesome. You have a great teaching style. Two weeks ago I built a gaming computer with my 17 year old. I had never built a computer before. This video was the backbone of the build. I looked at other videos for some specific items but kept referring back to your video. It is very informative and complete. Keep up the great work!!👍🏻
lolz and what possible optical need might I have?
SERGE I would use it
hehehe I was like, uh, whats an optical drive?
this guy is awesome, and very helpful have been watching his videos for years now be sure to check out his channel carey Holzman
My PC worked flawlessly thanks to your guides. I didn't bother updating the BIOS because i don't have another computer, flash drive, or any extra hard drives handy but i read that it is not necessary to update the BIOS if the computer is working properly.
"Affordable"
+CareyHolzman Please adopt me. No seriously, please do.
+Johan E You can call me Uncle Carey! :)
+CareyHolzman how much would this pc cost me
+GrizzlyTheGamer2 around 1300 dollars
+DEADEYE Gaming what would you say is the most expensive component?
What should you dedicate the most money into or what's the most expensive in this build? In this build, the CPU comes out slightly ahead in price than the GPU. The general rule of thumb is to put more into the GPU than the CPU when it comes to building a gaming PC though.
actually really good video. I was impressed he mentioned the cpu socket cover but then again, this IS Newegg
Where's the coke
I also don't know if I can eat the silica gel
+FullyGaming I think I can't eat the silica gel but I can eat everything else
+FullyGaming probably had legal issues.
22:53, the voice is so much deeper, any1 realised?
WTFitsANDY Gamez its the same guy, just doing a voiceover.
I love building PCs as everybody thinks that it's overly complicated and that you're an expert while it's actually very ducking easy.
Just made my first Computer build ever. Thank you for this video. It really helped me. Like a lighthouse making sure I made it though the build safely. Would recommend to anyone looking to build a computer for the first time.
Hows your build? Liking it?
This man's channel has helped me build my PC. More important Cary helped me learn and did not make me feel stupid.
Great to see Carey on Newegg TV! And he didn't fling any of the packaging onto the ground, lol.
I love watching Carey, his videos are rich in information and provide good view on PC parts. Good to see you on Newegg channel! (A fan from Singapore)
i love how your very thorough yet simple and to the point with your explanations, love your contribution to new egg will keep watching !
Great video, it removes the fear factor of approaching a first build, you're an excellent communicator.
The best tutorial ever! Complete installation with safety precautions.
1 year ago I built my whole pc using this guide :D (i5-6600k, z170 pro gaming & gtx 1070)
Recommended finally got me
Built a PC for video editing using this tutorial it fired up on the first try. A couple different components but the steps were similar, this is a great video. Thank you!!
Im so happy for RUclips and you guys...very helpful for a first time builder.
