APM PIXHAWK Anti Vibration Foam to improve GPS and Altitude Hold (Hobbyking)

I am trying to improve the GPS and Altitude hold on my Reptile 500 Quad with the APM Pixhawk from Hobbyking installed.
First suggestion from a helpful viewer was to make sure it has the anti vibration foam installed. So here are the results from doing that. Defiantly helps but still needs some tuning

I own the APM2.6 flight controller and in the beginning I was having lots of problems with loiter and alt_hold not performing well. After countless hours of reading, researching and trial and error. I found that the prop wash can have a significant impact on the sensors on the board. So I decided to place the flight controller inside a small plastic box and since then, those modes have been performing really well.
For reducing the vibration, I used gel pads and an anti-vibration mount. That reduced more than 90% of the vibration. In addition, its very important to have well balanced propellers that will make a huge difference too.

Couldn't tell if you had foam on the GPS as well, which I would also recommend. There are settings Mission plan that you could also adjust. Good luck.

it baro problem sir, your prop have been wash your fc make the barometter not correct.. u need cover your pixhawk with something like canopy.. the other way is put your FC at top but i will make your quad hold altitude went moving

the HK is the Pixhawk clone right? are they exacly the same? the HK version is 125 while the Pixhawk from the official webpage is 199 so.. I am not sure if getting the HK version would be the same thing. Tx for your feedback Simon

John Villa HK is the Chinese clone and uses the same open source software ARDUCOPTER as the 3DR Version.

I am sure the 3DR Version is a superior product but I did not want to spend 300$ on a hobby. So therefore Chinese knockoff is the go. Works OK for what I need. RTH to with 2 metres.

Your throttle should be centred in loiter mode to hold position.
