    I always love the look of big tires on factory wheels, that is what I always do. Aftermarket wheels just don’t look that good to me.

      Agreed! I hate the black wheels on my Silverado. I think stock is the way to go

    I was looking to see how the nittos 285 70 17 would look on my 4runner seeing how I just ordered a set, so was watching your video and first off, your runner looks really good. I have the same 4th gen color and all just mine is 4x4, and second it's crazy you where driving to wilmington nc because that's where I live. Small world, awesome.

    I installed a 2.5 inch leveling kit in the front and installed some aftermaket rims with a -12mm offset and some 265/75/17 A/T and mine rub like crazy any suggestions? Thanks.

    Check the spare for a TP sensor. I drove myself crazy with that warning light until I realized my 04 4runner had a TP in the spare.

    How is your setup holding up ? Are the tires rubbing? Did you have to chop body mount ? Running wheel spacers ?

      No rubbing once I cut the wheel well plastic liner. This setup has been doing great. No spacers but I do think the car had a small leveling kit installed already

      @@GRAPPAHOLICS cool ! I hope I get as lucky as you with minor fender cutting. I have a leveling kit on mine as well. 1 inch spacer in front . Gives about 2 inches of lift .

    Some tps system say what the pressure is. But when it gets colder it's always good to go2or3 over on the pressure

    The spare tire has a TPMS senser too. Make sure the spare tire has the proper air pressure in it.

    So I ordered 285/70-17 and I don’t have any lift on my 05. Do you have any wear marks on your tires from the upper control arms?

      I haven’t seen any yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if we did have some wear marks. Nothing crazy yet though

      I would say yes. We don’t mind the little trimming of plastic we had to do though for these

    Does a 285 fit in the spare wheel location? I was also debating a level kit vs suspension lift. I dont do any real off roading but would not mind just a few more inches clearance.

      I don’t believe the 285 will fit in the stock spare location and if you can afford a lift it’s usually a better option than a leveling kit

    I have a set of 275 70 toyo mts Putting them side by side to the front tire they look like they will be a super tight fit. Is a lift necessary? Or can I get away with putting them on stock. I don’t want to go to the tire shop to get them mounted and stuff only for them to run like hell when they’re on

      I think that a leveling kit will be necessary and you’ll probably still have to cut the cheap plastic inner fender some. Toyo MTs would look great though

      In the video he said he thinks the vehicle came with a 2” leveling kit.

      A 2wd with good tires will out perform a 4x4 with poor tires.

    Remember your spare has one in it too also i thought ours recommended 38lbs.....take the steps off makes look taller also lol

      It appears to have something small like a 1 or 1.5in coil spacer but it could be the factory mount. I’m still not sure

      It was leveled when I bought it and I didn’t even realize it at first. I think it is just a 1.5in strut spacer. It doesn’t have a brand name on it or anything

      I believe they are 17x7.5 but they could be x7 in not 100% sure

    LOL Dude.......those don't really clear the upper arm. As soon as there is any distortion of the tire they'll run and slice it. IE. Airing down or the tire flexing towards it on turns.🤣 I hate wheel spacers, but I would use them here.

    Check the spare Toyota’s put a sensor in the full size spare that ones probably dead.
