Right! I love when a message is sincere and they aren't trying to sell you anything. I watch very few hunting shows on tv because it's just a big commercial. I'm wearing.... Shooting a ...... I drove here in a ........ I planted this food plot in ...... . I can't stand it, but apparently there folks that just eat it up and will break their neck to throw money at all that BS.

I hunt in Kansas, I’m 25 and am new to hunting. I found your channel shortly after beginning research on hunting whitetail deer. Using the tips in this channel I was able to get my first buck last weekend on Nov 6th! Even better it was with a compound bow. Nice little 6 pointer. Thanks Jeff!!

I've been glued to your channel for exactly 1 year. Got my first buck in Eagle River WI during gun season 2020. Purchased my first bow January 2021, and harvested my first archery deer this weekend!
Thank you so much Jeff for the wisdom you are passing down, not only to your RUclips audience, but also for the generations the thousands of us that it pass it on to friends and family for centuries to come! ❤ 🏹 🦌

One of the best blinds is an old building/house if it's available. It could even be a grain bin. Even with no windows the deer come right up to the house and don't wind me. Dunno why but it's been a great place.

My favorite part of this video was when you said you don't "have to buy this or that"...so many in the hunting industry say that you MUST purchase all this stuff to be successful and here you are putting out a plethora of information for FREE. You put so much hard work year round into producing the FREE stuff that makes a person successful, then you give that bonus option to subscribe to additional info but back it up by saying you don't need to buy any of it to kill big deer. Appreciate how humble and down to earth you still are! Your information put me on a great buck this fall, my own mistakes caused me to not recover the deer but everything leading up to getting that buck 8 yards in front of me during the "October lull" bs is attributed to everything I've learned from your FREE content, thank you!

Hey Jeff, I've been following you for a few years now and I just want to say thank you for everything you do! Your tips and strategies including properly hunting the wind, weather, human scent control, etc. have made me a better hunter. I bagged my target buck split brow tine 13 pointer on Nov. 13th in western MN! Thanks again Jeff!

I started watching you about 6 years ago. It truly is incredible the things that new and seasoned (no pun intended) whitetail hunters can over look. The way you lay out the steps and break down each factor has led to me entering 3 Pope & Young bucks into the New York Record books (129, 146, 131). I can't thank you and Whitetail Habitat Solutions enough! Absolutley incredible job! Catching up on my mid yo late November tips if ya can't tell!

Love your content, Jeff! Sat out in my back lot yesterday evening (although a little warm). I haven’t touched that area since the beginning of Oct. Harvested a beautiful 11 point with a kicker. Started to track him and the back lot that I hadn’t touched was full of scrapes/rubs and the smell of rutting buck was unreal. Not exposing my sent to that area worked absolute wonders!!! Great advice!!

Life happened and I didn't hunt deer for 11 Seasons. I thought I was a pretty good hunter before but my knowledge of deer has grown exponentially with this channel. I will use the info. contained here for many years to come.
Oh yeah, I put some of your tips into practice and scored my biggest buck ever Nov. 6th a 12 point mature buck that I had on cam. I got the perfect conditions for that stand and everything fell into place. Very satisfying as I write and listen to my dehydrators working hard to complete thier deer jerky mission.
Your work ethic on educating the hunting public is second to none.

Shot at my target buck during bow season using your advice, that being said a small twig veered the arrow and now he has a cut on his side, I know this because of how I got in and stayed home most days he showed back up..It's a very pressured area around it so hoping he has made it so far huge temp drop Saturday to make it happen! I'm 5 deer down, doe tags filled. One nice 8 point down. have a crazy buck come across the road taking down 1 to 2 inch trees chasing two doe with a six point right behind him. started about 150 yards away and end up running with in 15 ft from my stand. no shot with my BP. to fast to get a scope on him . he was snorting like crazy. one of the wildest events I've seen here in Va. Big 12 point. neighbor got him later that day. all the food plots are doing great. several hemp rope hangs have been very active . thanks to your advice the herd is thriving and we are really enjoying seeing all the deer in the fields around the farm.

Jeff, you nailed it for my scenario right now and helped me make a decision today. I have a spot like you described.. going downhill into a flat and a popup. Rain coming tomorrow so I'll wait, check that cam in the rain late to mid morning and not risk disturbing things on a day like today where its quiet and still. Even though I'm dying to see if he's been around, I must hold off. Wind is not favorable either. The big buck doesn't care if I'm just in to check my cam and leave. He just cares I'm there. The big buck only needs 1 thing and he's gone. Thanks for the reminder man! ✌🇨🇦

I have a 23 acre plot old cattle pasture that hasn't been used for anything in a few decades next to lots of ag. I have been baiting all summer and had a shooter show up in October. You pretty much answered a question I had at about 2:18. I have/had a 40 acre lease. Had being the timber company just took all 40 acres at the start of rifle in Louisiana. I have had to start relying on public WMA hunting. Still trying to get one this season. Still new to hunting, I am trying to get better. I watch a lot of your videos and they help, but I get into my own head trying to get at least one deer. I will keep pushing forward and just have to adapt to what I am dealt. We will see what happens going forward.

Asking for help, I have a ground blind, a lock on and sticks, and a climber, but get cold easy. Even when I layer up, I still get cold. What is your advise for any? I typically go to the ground blind as it provides shelter and I stay less cold. This is on the WMA mentioned above.

Thanks for the great info. I had a 5.5 year old buck patterned on our property using 3 mock scrapes. Yes, they are all vines. He had been active in daylight for 3 weeks. I just needed some kind of east wind. Sunday morning was a slight southeast wind blowing from the woods out into a cattle pasture that the deer shy away from. I killed him at 9:46 on the first sit in this stand. It was a ten yard shot and he was directly between me and one of the mock scrapes he had been visiting. He is being scored this week and has 22-24 scorable points. Thank again!

I love what you do for us teaching us the do's and don'ts for whitetails. My passion is bow hunting big bux and just started following your techniques. However, when its the gun season here in MN where I hunt in heavily pressured small parcel public lands....if its brown, ITS DOWN.
Although I'll follow your techniques for archery and not take does. It's a different vibe with bow as theres not alot of folks out wandering during prerut with all the woods to yourself. With the gun season, all the uncles and cousins are hunting in a big party so again, if its brown, it down for gun.

Most weeks I’ll only be able to hunt once a week (just started hunting last Saturday).
When I went out last a few hunters heading out said they hadn’t seen any trace of deer. About halfway through the time I had to hunt I saw a mature doe dash past me (foliage offered little room to shoot and I saw her for maybe half a second). Sadly I have yet to bag any deer, but that isn’t keeping me from wanting to go

Had a big 10 point 75 yards. Bow season late October this year. Hogs came between us. Him and another buck. They turned and went back to the oaks. Watch him for hour. I want shoot at one that far. 60 or closer I fill comfortable at that range. Had him at 50 yards two days later. He would never give me a shot. He stayed behind bushes. Have not been back sense. The weather will good great this coming weekend. I’m in Florida it’s supposed to be in the low 40’s a couple days. I’m going after him then.

Jeff, I've been hunting since I was 7,I would aggravate my dad so much to just go! As I grew older I seen things in the woods and took note much as you did. I would see something one year and then I learned and the next year I would get a deer. The more years I went the better the bucks I would harvest! I watch alot of people on RUclips and they all are contradicting but you on the other hand , I watch you and I'm always saying" yep, he's right again"! I always recommend you to any new hunter I talk to and will continue to do so! Sometimes you give me cold chills when I hear you talk, you know your stuff hahaha it's like we were deer in the past life! People, listen to this guy, he is not here to hurt you , he is here to help but you don't have to take my word for it just read the comments! I listened to a very smart hunter once talk about the rut. He said there is no 2nd or 3rd rut. It's ongoing from late Oct thru Jan/Feb, it's just younger does come into heat later. If a doe comes into heat early Nov, she will get bred by a young or old buck, they won't miss her. Younger does, yearlings will come into heat later, like Dec-Feb. There is no does that get missed, bucks can smell a hot doe from up to a mile away.

Had my first sit this season in Ohio Saturday morning. I saw 4 young bucks. One was a skinny 8pt that came in on a grunt call. Great day in the woods

Thanks Jeff, another great video! Your comments really hit home. I have limited time with a 6 mo old daughter and coaching my son's hockey team and work in general. I took 2 half day mornings last wed/thur here in southern PA and had 2 great mornings of hunting on public game lands. Saw a shooter the first morning and passed a nice 13-14 inch wide 8 pt the second day. I hunted a different stand each time regardless of seeing that nice buck the first morning. My success has gone up dramatically by always hunting a fresh tree with my climber. These are trees I found prior years from scouting near bedding areas. Can you comment here on when the 2nd and 3rd ruts are? This is something I here little talk on and would like to learn more. For a guy hunting in Southern PA when would I expect to see a second and third rut. Seems that the 1st rut is obviously happening right now in my area.

Brand new, 1st year hunter from MI here. I have a double hub beast blind and no mentor or private land to use. My first hunt and only hunt was for turkey in the spring. i just know I want to start this tradition with my boys who are pre teens. I have no idea what im doing. Would your class benefit a guy in my situation? No expierence, no mentor and only public land access.

Hi Kirk I would honestly focus on my books instead of the classes 😊 Begin with the red one, then the brown book and finally the blue books. Even the green, food plot book will help you out to understanding the relationship of food and whitetails.
Good luck...so much to learn but such an enjoyable process 👍

@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 I'm a firm believer in Hunter instinct. Instinct...to me...is not the same as knowledge. Although like knowledge, instinct is gained and honed thru experience. I feel all hunters begin..depending on what age they start hunting..with a relatively consistent baseline hunter instinct. And depending on not only how much experience they gain...but the quality of that experience...respectively their instinct evolves and becomes more usable & reliable.
I am very interested in you opinion on hunter instinct. I can email you detailed examples of what im talking about if you need a reference. Instinct is not easily defined in real world. But I feel I have a pretty good handle on how to identify pure instinct.
      It's an absolute deadly asset.

We have rain coming in tomorrow. I went to check a stand today. (I just had a baby and haven't been in condition to keep up on the stands and cameras.) TONS of rubs all throughout. I was setting my camera and I stopped because I heard something. I turned and there goes the buck I've been after for two years. He didn't run or even trot off. He just turned and walked the opposite way from the draw. Did I ruin my chance of seeing him this weekend?

The power line companies decided too use a helicopter with 2 long cables suspending chainsaws. Wreaked havoc on the cover on my stand cover half way up. Now I silhouette TERRIBLY.
So I opted for a rhino 180 blind which is simply awesome if you haven't seen them. Going too put it right in front of my ladder stand, brush it in and use the stand as a decoy. Hope big Clyde looks up and sees the empty stand but not the blind. Food plots are made in the fall and mine is rocking right now. I only hunted my stand one time this year during muzzleloader season and that's it. Saturday I get my first crack. Fingers crossed.
