Amazing work, i used to own a compaq just like this. I have fond memories of it as it was my first reuse case for the custom pc i ever built! It was awesome. Swapped out all the old parts and put in a sleeper gaming system

I had one of these sr1000 chassis in the garage, it was our family pc from 2005 iirc, I dug it out a few months ago but it was way worse than this. All the electronics were corroded as well as the case and the light plastic band was discoloured. I ended up spraying mine, got a used oe front io and card reader to keep it looking half original and rammed a 3700x and rtx2080 into it. Now my main rig, thanks for your video it was inspiration and the chassis has memories and all the family have noticed its alive again.....

Hi XeonProductions! The thing is, I'm trying to make my video with one main goal in mind, to keep the mood of satisfaction. I'm not sure that using a DataVac is as "aesthetically pleasing" as one would hope, if you see what I mean. Doing things outside is a little too difficult for me for that reason too. I've only uploaded 6 videos so far, and I need to work on the setup properly to keep the environment nice for recording. But for sure lot of things will evolve video after video. And I keep every advices aside for a later use. So Thank you very much for your comment, I hope you still enjoyed the video. ☺️
I was thinking just last night about a computer doing double duty as an air filter... It would be interesting to hear feedback on how it sounds and thermals.
Everything is fine, but the air flow will be directed from the processor cooler to God knows where. And it wouldn’t hurt to install some kind of fan for the blowing, as well as for the blowing!
Yeah you are right! I really have to work more on the airflow... in fact, start to work on it 😅 Until now, I just did put back the components where they were. But yeah, I will improve that in my next videos! Thanks for your comment @Olekskandr_Dzhurynskyj I hope that you enjoyed watching this video even with that. ❤️ And sorry for this late reply, pretty busy personal and professional life lately 😇

Hi Jeremie! yeah, i had this PC before I gave it to my brother years later. Enjoyed it for years with some updates. Thanks for your comment, hope you enjoyed the video ❤️
Hi Playtrack22, I already gave this PC back to his owner, but was able to check my video rushes. This is what I found: - Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-F2A78M-HD2 - PSU: CORSAIR VS550 - Processor: AMD A10-5800 Series - Graphic card: GeForce GTX 1050 GAMING X 2G - Ram: 1 SAMSUNG 1Rx8 4GB PC3 12800U + 1 Kingston DDR3 4 GB PC3 10600 - Hard Drive: 1 SAMSUM ST500LM012 SATA 5400 RPM 500 GB (January 2015) + 1 Seagate ST1000DM063 SATA 7200 RPM 1TB - DVD-ROM Drive: Data Storage GDR-8162B (December 2003) I added it on the video description to let everybody have theses info also. Don't hesitate if you have any other question ✌️
It is not clean if you ask me. I bet it is still smelly. I wash everything wits soap and plenty of water, even the PSU. Dry them with hot air and after that several days of natural drying. Never had an issue.
Hi best opinion! Your are the 2nd person who are telling me that. It doesn't smell at all to be honest and I would not say it's not clean, but for sure it's not 100% perfect. But yeah I get what you mean. I add this in my improvements list because I think you guys are right about it. I will have to think about how I can make a setup to record that and keep a satisfaction and clean video. I don't want to just put it in my bathroom and record it without lights etc... So it will take a bit time and not be in the next 2-3 videos. Plus I have other improvements I want to work on before. So thank you for your comment best opinion! ✌️
@@french.satisfactory Some guys around here use water for cleaning. First vacuum cleaner and then water an soap. It is a risk of course, but I never had issues. If you sell it ... ok. If I want to keep it, no way without washing. Not to mention that I have no gut to clean it as you do aspiring that nasty dust... I hope you have a face mask. :)
I don't sell them, I usually give them back to their owners. But yeah, I will soon wash the metal chassis with water and soap I think. And yes, I wear a mask and often open the windows 🙂
Hi William! yeah you are right ... well this video is the 3rd one of my channel, at the very beginning I didn't replace all the thermal pastes, but it is the case on the most recent ones ✌️ Thanks for your comment William ❤️
Hi Assasin under the Moonlight, You are right, the case was definitely too small for this. It is the computer of my brother and didn't plan any upgrade for it. It was my third video so ... yeah, I only started upgrades in my last video 😅 ruclips.net/video/LbO1jJtY8v4/видео.html Thanks for your comment, hope you enjoyed the video ❤️❤️
In any ways, this case was definitely too small. My brother upgraded some components with larger ones and it was even a bit complicated to fully close de case So... He now have another PC for his daily use. Not even sure if he is still using that one par anything.
Do NOT open a power supply if you're not a professional! Power can still be stored there (even after months of being disconnected) and if you don't know how to discharge it properly it could be deadly
Hi מוטי שיוביץ, this is interesting. Didn't know there was a specific way to discharge it. If you have sources I can read I'm interested on. I will do my own research anyway. Thanks for your comment ✌️
Well... partially true, most modern power supplies have a discharge resistors, like 200 kilo ohm which drains a capacitor of 1,000uF over roughly 16.5 - 17 minutes or diodes that will help empty it out. A one handed electrician is a living electrician in the end.
Interesting. I always thought that if we push on the power button when the computer is disconnected from any electricity sources, it would be enough to make sure that all the components are empty.
@@french.satisfactory That does help as well, just as an additional precaution honestly. Also for heatsinks not stuck too any components for the moment id simply use the vacuum cleaner
Just do the ghetto method of shorting the big capacitors with some piece of metal. Add a resistor to a cable and use that if you don't want to potentially cause damage. You can also check with a multimeter the voltage across the big capacitors to see if they're holding any charge. Anyway, I'm no an electromagician so take this with a grain of salt.
please do not remove CPU like this. cpu socket will get dirty and will cause lots of problems. First clean the motherboard with CPU on it - then remove it. Also while cleaning AMD CPU - use tissue paper, not cloth. Cloth tend to fasten in sharp CPU pins and inadvertendly bend them making the CPU useless. On the other hand tissue paper will just tear apart.
Hi Som Sundar Srimany! You are totally right. I definitely didn't do this the right way on this video. And you are not the only one who told me it 😅 On the episode I'm currently working on, I kept the CPU on the mother card to clean it. And will continue to improve the process video after video. Thanks a lot for your comment. It help to make growing this channel ❤️
Yeah I know. It is here also a sentimental stuff. In fact, I bought a PC with that case more than a decade ago. Did some upgrades year after year and gave it to my brother years ago. He also did some upgrades, and here we are. He don't use it anymore in a daily basis. He bought a brand new computer. But when he saw that I opened this RUclips Channel, he thought this PC could be a good candidate for a video. Which is the case basically 😅
People on here are too paranoid, when cleaning or changing the fan on a PSU, disconnect from power, hold power button for 10 seconds, leave at least 15 minutes, don't touch anything with conductive materials, do what you have to do and put the lid back on, I have cleaned many PSU's and am always removing old brittle hot glue from them as it inevitably falls and makes a rattling sound. How many people do you know killed by a PSU? and no it doesn't count if you know a guy who knows a guy who told you he knows a guy who knows a guy who did lmao.
Thanks for sharing your point of view Jonny! I am pretty in the same thinking but open to every opinion. Very relaxing YT channel BTW. 👌 Thanks for your comment ❤️
mmmh I agree about that the fan my brother added in this PC is not really adapted 😅 But not sure about that standard heatsink and fan are every time the best. I'm pretty sure you can find a better one 😉 Thanks a lot for all your comments Jeremie! ❤️
oh you are talking about the brand cooler master! yeah I agree, I pretty like it also. The thing is I just wouldn't put this heatsink and fan in this computer. Not so adapted. Too big. 😅

I think safest way to clean the cpu is when it’s still slotted so pins won’t bend or holding it instead of putting it on its pins
Hi DeezRMyDays! I agree. you are not the 1st person who tell me that. And I did in the video I'm currently working on 😉

Yes and it’s best to dust off the motherboard with the cpu installed so dust doesn’t get into the socket and prevent it from making good contact.

should get a skinny computer fan so it has a outtake on it instead of it just be free flowing the air, but you know a case upgrade would just over all be the best tbh
Yeah, That PC was mine a decade ago. Gave it to my brother after some years, so you can imagine how many times it was upgraded 😅 In fact, I don't think my brother still use it. He bought another one after I made this video.
Thanks for your comment chaosisthebestsauce! Hope you enjoyed this video ❤️❤️
@@french.satisfactory if you dont have like any use for it you can turn it into a server for you house so you can have server for like minecraft an all that
Well I don't have it anymore. I gave it back to my brother 😉
Well Done 💯👍👏
Thanks again Sajad!! Nice to know you liked this video also ❤️
Why no GPU TP replacement?
Hi ":D" 😅
Well, to be honest I just forgot it. But for my defence, I did it on the next videos, and I will for the next ones ✌️
Hope you liked this video, even if it was not so perfect yet. Thanks for your comment ❤️
@@french.satisfactory hey yea! It was great other than that! Keep it up! Do you do this for a living or is this just a hobby thing?
Well, I am watching satisfying videos since a while now. Just told to my self why not having my own channel? So I created it recently. I have IT skills, so i decided to make satisfying cleaning computer videos. I really like to do it, and it's a hobby yeah. I have a "real" professional activity out of RUclips 😉
It's so fun to know that there is people from all over the world who are watching my videos!! and even more when they are telling my that it's satisfying! A nice guy even told me that it helps his anxiety ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Of course I hope this channel can grow, but who knows? for the moment I just try to do my best video after video ✌️
Ah I get it! I like cleaning PCs too! I just recently cleaned my Mom's gaming PC and last year, I pulled an old gaming system from the recycling yard! Swapped the PSU, added an SSD + HDD and it was ready to go!
Nice, ready for another 10 years 😄
ok i dont feel so bad now my ashtrayputer's cleaner then this dust development consol.
Nice to know that this video is making you feel better 😂
wow that's cool, so dusty pc bro
Yeah, that one was pretty nice to do with a nice before/after ☺️
It's my pc in nutshell! 😂
And I have no time to clean it up like this!... 😭
Ahahah, this is something I would also love to do in the futur in my channel. Cleaning subscribers PCs. keep it like that and who knows, it will appears in one of a next video 😆

@@french.satisfactory absolutely 😁
How much did this cost for everything you put in
Hi MoonZzzAbyss !
Well, I only put it in a 2,5 to 3,5-inch support. To be honest I don't remember how much it cost. I bought it in a computer shop, not on amazon, so it's hard to say, especially because I uploaded this video 10 months ago 😅
But I will take care about put the price of the new components in the video description for the next videos ✌️
Thanks for your comment MoonZzzAbyss! hope you enjoyed the video ❤️

Que destornillador usas ?
Hi David, I am using a Black & Decker BDHT0
Did it boot?
Hi Tyrian! It is 🙂
You are the 2nd one who is asking this question, let me juste copy/past my last answer:
"I want my videos satisfying people and didn't find a nice way yet to show you that the computer is running. So decided to work on the other parts of the video first. But for sure I will add this in a near futur.
For the moment, you still have to trust me 😅"
I would add that I will maybe do this in another social media like Instagram. But as you can see I still have to work on it.
Thanks for your comment ✌️
@@french.satisfactory cool thanks 👍🙏

i wish i could one of these dusty gamins systems and i gonna clean it up
yey, pretty satisfying 🥰
That heat sink tho
Yey 😷
Must not of booted up huh? Usually you show it start up & display the system specs
Hi Jay_kaying,
in fact, I started to add this booting sequence at the 7th episode (ruclips.net/video/6Uak1KA9eb4/видео.html)
You have it on every episode then, but before that, you don't. This is the 2nd video here. It worked after cleaning, but for this one you have to trust me 😅
sr1920nx i had and it ran superb
Hi Jeremie! yeah, i had this PC before I gave it to my brother years later. Enjoyed it for years with some updates.
Thanks for your comment, hope you enjoyed the video ❤️
3:55 what do u spray it with??
Hi Eddie, it's compressed gas duster. You can also use a compressor but I don't have it 😅
Niceee!!!
Thanks DeadPixel!!
what gpu is that?
Hi Playtrack22, I already gave this PC back to his owner, but was able to check my video rushes. This is what I found:
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-F2A78M-HD2
- PSU: CORSAIR VS550
- Processor: AMD A10-5800 Series
- Graphic card: GeForce GTX 1050 GAMING X 2G
- Ram: 1 SAMSUNG 1Rx8 4GB PC3 12800U + 1 Kingston DDR3 4 GB PC3 10600
- Hard Drive: 1 SAMSUM ST500LM012 SATA 5400 RPM 500 GB (January 2015) + 1 Seagate ST1000DM063 SATA 7200 RPM 1TB
- DVD-ROM Drive: Data Storage GDR-8162B (December 2003)
I added it on the video description to let everybody have theses info also.
Don't hesitate if you have any other question ✌️
@@french.satisfactory wow that big upgrade. Ssd would be better tho.
Yeah, it's the PC owner who did this. And add an SSD is for me one of the most important part of an hardware upgrade.
👍
Thx ❤️
I know this guy
mmh? you mean, the owner of this computer?
The PSU is upside down at 11:03 ;-;
ahahah you are right, well done! I realised it later and had to put it back in the right position 😉

You should really really repaste gpus after so many years, same thing with any damaged thermal pads
Hi William!
yeah you are right ... well this video is the 3rd one of my channel, at the very beginning I didn't replace all the thermal pastes, but it is the case on the most recent ones ✌️
Thanks for your comment William ❤️
This hardware need big Case or buy new PSU.
Hi Assasin under the Moonlight,
You are right, the case was definitely too small for this. It is the computer of my brother and didn't plan any upgrade for it. It was my third video so ... yeah, I only started upgrades in my last video 😅 ruclips.net/video/LbO1jJtY8v4/видео.html
Thanks for your comment, hope you enjoyed the video ❤️❤️
@@french.satisfactory I don't mean a very large box, just a box that has the power cables in the back because there is no airflow to cool the parts.
In any ways, this case was definitely too small. My brother upgraded some components with larger ones and it was even a bit complicated to fully close de case So... He now have another PC for his daily use. Not even sure if he is still using that one par anything.
He cleans it this pc but why do I get the flu
If there is a new pandemic it will start from here 😂

Very nice .🥰
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
please do not remove CPU like this. cpu socket will get dirty and will cause lots of problems.
And you are not the only one who told me it 😅
On the episode I'm currently working on, I kept the CPU on the mother card to clean it. And will continue to improve the process video after video.
Thanks a lot for your comment. It help to make growing this channel ❤️

Buy a new case is not enough satisfying. And it makes a too short video 😅

@@french.satisfactory
its ok to clean hardware.
but the case was from win xp times.
at least 15 years or older.
new case cost 20-30€
Thanks for your comment ❤️
standard heatsink and fan r best for any motherboard cooler master i have mine still
mmmh I agree about that the fan my brother added in this PC is not really adapted 😅 But not sure about that standard heatsink and fan are every time the best. I'm pretty sure you can find a better one 😉
Thanks a lot for all your comments Jeremie! ❤️
@@french.satisfactory cooler master heatsink fans r good cpu fans i have mine
oh you are talking about the brand cooler master! yeah I agree, I pretty like it also. The thing is I just wouldn't put this heatsink and fan in this computer. Not so adapted. Too big. 😅
