Another great video! I had a Dell desktop with a similar CPU, very solid machine. As for the rust on the CPU, try a Q-Tip with some light polishing compound. I use one called CeramaBryte. It is for stove tops, but works wonders on heatsinks/IHS. I don't know if you have that in France, but anything should be ok. In fact, the smoother the IHS, the better it will conduct heat! Hope this helps! EDIT: Leave the CPU in the socket when polishing so it doesn't move around.

That is one clean Compaq now. Some of these Athlon II X2 220s can be unlocked in the BIOS, and may have extra CPU cores. The sound seemed a little clearer to me, but I have tinnitus and sometimes can't tell if I'm hearing 'real' sounds like fans, or if it's my tinnitus. A bit mean of Compaq to not include PCI-E X16 slot, they didn't aim this at gamers, for sure.

@@french.satisfactory As for how to clean the CPU, the best option is to soak it in isopropyl alcohol and rub it with a cotton bud, though you have to be patient, take your time and repeat the process. Another good technique involves alcohol wipes, where you have more control over the force and how you apply it, though again you have to be persistent apply enough force. Trust me on this one, I deep clean my computer regularly on my own, as well as many other electronic devices (my XBOX for example) and I know my way around. One more tip is to use a microfiber cloth for the plastic case and the tempered glass (if the case has one). Second tip (though I assume you already know it), always replace thermal pads with thermal pads, not with thermal paste (by the way, make sure that the new pads are of the same size and thickness). Third tip: In order to remove this sticky substance (like that pink substance you removed from a heat sink in this video), use isopropyl alcohol and a very thin (almost like razor sharp thin) pry tool to carefully remove it. I would also recommend that you buy yourself an electronic duster. You will save a lot of money in the long run when you quit using this air cans (Wich by the way need to be handled very carefully, because this chemically created air leaves liquid marks if not applied properly). @@french.satisfactory Silly me, I remember my tips one at a time, as I'm watching the video. 1. Sewing machine oil is ideal for fan bearings. 2. And sorry for this late reply, pretty busy personal and professional life lately 😇
Oof. Another early 10s Compaq with no pcie x16 slot. No GPU upgrade path just because HP wanted to shave cents off their costs. HP are the worst.
Yeah... I don't understand this. Honestly it cost what? 10 cents per slot to add them? it's a bit ridiculous.
Hope you enjoyed the video BTW ❤️
the pc was made in ohio
Hi Rene!
Wait, this remember me something... ooh yes somebody posted "Video From OHIO" on the RustyDusty last video. Thought it was you but visibly not. Is there a joke or something about Ohio ? I'm curious now 🤔
Remember you, just checked and saw that you already posted comments on 3 videos. So thanks for your fidelity!! This help a lot this channel to grow 🥰
Hope you enjoyed the video ❤️
Cleaning? That's not a dirty PC....
Hi Miguel,
Well, I'm not doing fake content in this channel. So I can't every time find dust masterpieces. On this episode I focused my efforts on the sound and video editing improvements. For sure I will continue to try finding crazy dusty computers, but don't hope that it will happens every 2 other week.
Hope you will understand this. Don't really have another answer to give you 😅
I hope you the best success. You should look into using 'Promosm'!
Hi Stewart,
Are your talking about Promosm website or something else ?? Because if you are talking about that, I will definitely not using it 😅 It is against YT therm and services to use ....
Thanks for your wishes, hope you enjoyed the video ❤️
