Hi guys! Thanks to you, this channel had a great progression until ... last week 🥺 This episode had to be published last Friday, not today, but due to too much work on it, I had to postpone the upload. And RUclips had a pretty hard reaction, almost no suggestion of my content anymore 😢 So if you really liked this video, please remember to: - Like it 👍 - Tell me what you think about it in the comments section 😍 - Share it on the social medias 😘 - Subscribe ❤ - Follow me on Instagram for more content: instagram.com/french.satisfactory/ 😷 Kisses from France 🇫🇷 Love you all! ❤
yey, no improvement on my side yet. I guess I will have to upload regularly some videos again to go back the same level this channel had 2 weeks ago... 😬
A few notes, make sure to screw and un-screw things from corner to corner as it applies pressure better instead of just going clockwise. Another thing is with GPUs and most times with CPUs you don't need to use a spudger to spread out the thermal paste, you can if you want but with the amount that is added the heatsink will almost always cover the whole chip. Great video and cleaning, keep up the good work!
Hi Fiveer11! You are right for both. About screw and un-screw, I knew this, but yeah, I have to remember to do it every time 😅 I will take a particular attention to this for the next videos 👍 About spread out the thermal paste, if I'm doing it like that it's more to be sure I don't have too much of it on the CPU/GPU. It's especially the case for GPUs where I almost every time put too much thermal paste. But I totally agree about that if you put the right quantity you don't have to spread out it as I'm doing it. BTW, I pretty easily could stop to do it for the CPU. Need maybe more practice to stop to do it on GPU 😅 The thing is, doing things on video (especially for me who only made 6 videos) make it more complicated. I have to check if everything is working well (mic, focus, hands positions etc...), and yeah... It's still a bit complicated to do everything well and recording in the same time. I know my videos are not perfect yet, and will need couple of other upload to improve them, so thanks a lot for taking time to give tips and remember me good practices! ❤️❤️
Another awesome restoration video! I must say, I have never seen a floppy drive in a Ryzen computer, but hey there is a first time for everything XD That machine looks great without all those stickers, you did a great job! Keep up with the awesome content!
ahahah yeah, there is a first time for everything as you said. It's so nice to see you back in the comments section Volvo240! Thanks for your words, really appreciate 🥰
ahahah!!! you are right 😆 I realized that it was not possible to connect the floppy to the motherboard when I reassembled the PC. So I just left it as it was when the owner gave it to me... disconnected. he kept it for aesthetic reasons I guess. Anyway, well done ✌️
Yeah, I fully understand the nostalgia, I'm pretty sur I would have some surprised if I check mine also. That should be a pretty nice idea for video on a RUclips tech channel. Nice to know you liked the videos, and thanks for your nice comments ❤️
@Kelly Gilbert I actually was able to read and write floppies with an old USB floppy drive in WINDOWS 11! I had no idea Microsoft still supports floppies. I was even able to transfer files via floppy disk to my 386 machine running Windows 3.1 😆
Great job! Really like your videos! It's very pleasing to see how intesive you work on used hardware. Concerning stickers: I've had several times the same issues and was always annoyed about my manual results. Therefore I intesively searched the market and found a product called "Würth Industry Cleaner". Just spray it on, let it sit for at least 10 seconds and then swipe it off. You'll get exceptional results. You shouldn't use it in closed rooms because it seems to be quite toxic.
Hi Pradeep Rajput! I am using alcohol to clean it. The recommended one is Isopropylic alcohol. Thank you for your comment, nice to know you liked the video ☺️
oh just realised that you maybe was talking about the compressed air duster. I buy them in France, so I can't give you the reference I am using, but looks like that one is the Amazon Best Seller: www.amazon.com/Falcon-Compressed-Disposable-Cleaning-DPSJB/dp/B0000AE67M/ref=zg_bs_3012916011_sccl_1/142-9807519-0189852?pd_rd_i=B0000AE67M&psc=1
Cool video. Suggestion: maybe replace the CMOS battery if it hasn't been changed recently, and don't fully tighten the GPU cooler until all the screws are mostly in place. Also, I was expecting a blow of compressed air into the CPU socket to make sure no cotton fibers or dust got in there, but it didn't come, lol.
The build itself is quite good actually, those PNY ssds are pretty good for making older pcs a bit faster as I do that myself, tho I thought that GPU would've been a gtx 650. Still pretty good outside of the GPU needing an upgrade, the ram aswell. Great video btw.
Hi Austin, Good question. Did some research and it is visibly to "help direct the airflow from one side of the PSU towards the exhaust at the back" Maybe I should have asked ChatGPT first. Here's his answer: "A plastic piece on the fan in a power supply unit (PSU) is typically used to guide and direct airflow. It is often used to shape the flow of air coming out of the fan so that it is more evenly distributed and directed towards specific components in the system. This can help to improve the cooling performance of the PSU and ensure that it is operating efficiently. The plastic piece is usually attached to the fan housing or blades and is positioned in such a way as to shape the airflow coming from the fan. Do you have any other questions about this topic?" 😅 I'm every time impressed by his answers ... 🤪 Thanks for your comment Austin. Glad you enjoyed the video ❤️❤️
Hi @hawkofthereborn43, I'm using normal brushes, but I'm thinking about buy some antistatic ones, which I recommend 😅 The vacuum is a Dyson v11 torque drive extra. Thanks for your comment, hope you enjoyed this video. ❤️
When you decide to start filming the machines booting up, know that using a video camera (even a good one) to capture the screen can be tricky and may not result in the best video. I've used an Epiphan VGA2USB capture device with decent results. They have both Windows and LInux drivers and you can use VLC to record the video. You'll have to get them used as they're discontinued. I've occasionally used the cheap HDMI to USB adapters too. Keep up the good work!
ah true! I didn't think about this. I will check what I can do to not make down the video quality with this. Thanks for the warning and for sharing! ❤️
Hi Wurlah! If I remember well, you are the 6th one who is asking for it 😅 I will work on it for the next video. I just need to find a way to make this feet well with the satisfaction mood. Thank you for your comment ❤️
A floppy drive in a socket AM4 system? It wasn't connected to the motherboard - no modern mainstream board will have the right port - so it's just sitting in the case, with power. :D I had to wonder why the side of the case was held on with masking tape - perhaps Sacha was always taking the side off for one reason or another. Anyway, I hope Sacha is happy with how it looks now. And if dust were worth anything you'd be a millionaire by now!
Amazing video, I'm just a little confused about that person's choice of a case? like a Ryzen 5 2600, which is a decently recent CPU in a case older than most TikTok kids? btw I saw some of your replies to other comments where you said you talked to the person? could you ask them if they still use that case and if so why?
