Carlsen’s Pirc borrows heavily from the Czech variation where Black plays c6 & Qa5 to get in a support e5. Supposedly the best way to meet the Czech Pirc is the “Austrian” attack with pawns at f4,e4 & d4. Very curious to know how Carlsen would handle such an attack. Anyway, exciting game… both players were fearless! Thanks for highlighting it & your spot on analysis.
Magnus has a talent making his pieces just a little bit more coordinated than his opponents', instinctively or not, and he's obviously has been unmatched in this skill so far
after move 25 instead of 26 Qc7 maybe Ra2 would have been a better try threatening Ra7a4 cause the black Q is rather unprotected on b4, feels more resilient and its easy to overlookcause it looks like a passive atemp to protect pawn b2
@NoahNoahNoahNoahNoahNoahNoah thanks for responding - appreciated! yes would be strange if exchange was initiated by black queen tho instead of knight which is what it seemed like Jerry was talking about..
Ah the myth of Jerry haters. It is a long lost tale, whether there is truth to such beings, who knows? Perhaps we will never know. Some of the worlds mysteries will never be solved.
not a Browns fan myself but I was so relieved to learn Jerry wasn't a Steelers fan, I would have kept subscribing but that would have been a real let down lol

A great lesson in coordination from Magnus, illuminated well by you. Thanks Jerry.

Thank you .. I love your presentation
I'm currently playing the pirc and kind of digging it
It’s only bad against players who study against it
nah fr bc i’ve been playing the piece for a good couple months n it’s strong asl against most opponents
@@sciencefaction2646 …excuse me, but for which chess opening or defense does this not apply?
Love pirc def
6:50 why is white's bishop bad, if it is active?
I'd really appreciate it if someone could pls explain this to me. Thanks!
1:38 how if white defend it by Bd2? Where should the queen go?

A very thick game, interesting though
7:25 but the white knight also has e4 covered no?

Pretty thematic and standard actually.
