8:18 I found the idea of "calling a team meeting" and imagining what the pieces would say they'd like to do, very helpful. Also entertaining. Thanks, Jerry
Great analysis and commentary. There are a lot of channels telling us what happened, you explain WHY it happened. One request: You made a very instructive comment early on as to "What did Black do wrong?". Once we saw the ending, it might have been instructive to go back and see how a few minor sub-optimal moves by black added up to that ignominious end.
Hi Jerrry. I've been subscribed to your channel for quite a while, but I've never made a suggestion about a game, and I would like you to review Karpov vs Topalov in Linares 94.
@@ChessNetwork Just getting "lucky" being online and noticing notification quickly. I don't know, but when I clicked this video had 100 views and zero comments so I couldn't resist. But I think yesterday and today are only 2 instances in my life when I commented first on any video. Let me just say Jerry, that I have been long time subscriber - my guess is 6 - 7 year, hard to say. I don't usually comment, but you are definitely one of my favourite creators along with agadmator and danya followed by few others like jozarov and chessdawg for example. I have watched if not all then very close to all of your videos. So thx for all your hard work, it is really appreaciated!
Average centipawn loss: 7, ouch. That is the kind of score the analysing engine often gives to full-strength Stockfish, because it does not fully appreciate the deep ideas at its level.
starting to watch this channel. question ... when viewing this, how does one know if one is viewing a hypothetical analysis or real play? I wanted to skip over the *many hypotheticals and wasn't sure when to stop. Maybe a color ball in the corner when doing hypothetical analysis?
@@ChessNetwork I understand about the verbal! Picture this scenario: A person wants to skip over all a section of hypothetical to the actual game .... while fast forwarding ... they get lost. Make sense?
It does not matter if it is 11 pm, 8 pm or 4 pm. It does not matter if I lie down, sit or stand. One thing is for sure in life: I will, with 100% certainly, fall asleep during Jerry's video.
OK that was weird... Now I'm suspecting the Jerry doesn't even realize he has a podcast and basically records himself talking to his pieces every day about his games and just uploads that without giving it a second thought. Is this the monologue that goes through your head during every game? "Bishop, where do you want to move? Yes, let's go after the weak light squares!"
Deep enough I guess. Maybe you would need a supercomputer in these situations. Since it's such a gradual decline, it's difficult for humans and computers alike to pinpoint where exactly it went downhill. Other than "everywhere, but just a little everytime".
@@E8oL4 no lol, just run stockfish on chessbase. The graph that the analysis, isn't created fast, and isn't super precise. If you wait for long enough in some position, the evaluation changes a lot, from what the graph initially suggested
@@Qhsjahajw Thats correct. But you could also view it from a more human perspective. I.e., even if you think you do everything correctly, Carlsen is able to completely outplay you. And not even (admittedly) superficial computation is helping.
So, did Carlson just solve chess? I'm only half joking here. But seriously, how do you play against something like that? It's like Jerry said, straight from the opening they're just seems to be no good answers to anything he's done. I guess the one thing I'd have to take a deeper look at is the one inaccuracy in the beginning but come on, this is just insane.
Very nice the way you bring a game that is w-a-y above most viewers' level into logical explanation, with views that are understandable.

Team meetings are key. 😎
Jerry has the best quips lol.
Just 1 inaccuracy and he lost in less than 30 moves 💀
Yea, Chess is brutal, if a single happens and your opponents play almost perfectly, guarantees the result
The truth hurts when against Carlsen... Especially in 2011. 😅
Appreciate the consistent top quality content Jerry, you're amazing
Thanks Joe.
You have one of the best commentary on Chess
Nah
definitely! Way better than Gotham or Agadmator!
Chess networks brilliant chess content
As always
Here, have a coffee on me. Yer welcome!
I appreciate the $10.00. Not a coffee guy, but there’s a granola fund. 😎Super Thanks!
Thanks for the all the great videos over the years! I’ve learned a lot from you.
Thanks Jerry another great vid
Thank you Roberto. 👍
'this isnt even my final form' - magnus
Wang Hao with only 1 inaccuracy.. but it is one too many against Carlsen. Amazing!
This was one of your best instructional videos Jerry, on an already excellent channel. Thank you!
Thank you Dean. 👍
I'm inclined to agree

Happy Fathers Day, Jerry. You are the Dad of modern chess analysis
Great analysis as always
Making the genius simple is a form of clarity few have, but you’re doing it! ✨

A great win by slow improvement. Thanks Jerry.
great as ever Jerry. You're the man
Jerry is the best when it comes to didactic chess videos..! What a great teacher.
Wow. That's a seriously impressive kingside attack by Carlsen.
Ashley you're on RUclips too???!
Thank you for the great content, super instructive
And thank you for watching. 👍
The Tale of the Tape looks like a slowly building tsunami.
Nice analysis, Jerry.
Thanks this game provides some inspiration. I had been playing the Karls-Botnivik line.
Beautiful tactics! Thanks!
I'm enjoying all the bishop content.
Your voice is so relaxing and clear..hehe
Great feedback
What about Move 24 : black plays g6 ?
Damn... again first Jerry. It is becoming habit. Thank You.

Magnus: "Connect four. I win!"
Picture perfect game 👍

Just before showing a hypothetical, something along the following is said: “In the game, move X is played (with an arrow highlighting it)”.
Nice suggestion about some graphic. I have implemented something like that in a prior video or two.

😢1 innacuracy by wang hao

@@Qhsjahajw Yeah, might be. But whats the point then? I doubt its very useful outside of opening prep tbh :D

Hi everyone its me ;D
Magnus is cheating.
He has Stockfish installed in his brain.
Must be painful… to lose by only 1 inaccuracy 😅
Has Magnus ever not played like Stockfish though? 🤔
