I love how in Ardyn's DLC, his revenge goes to the lengths of, "My brother's not dead enough. Come back to life Somnus, just so I can kill you again!" It's like hanging-up on someone, then calling them just so you can hang-up on them again, because it wasn't enough. I can respect that.
Ignis’s DLC is goddamn untouchable, it’s so good. I actually got to meet the director for Episode Ignis at PAX East after it came out while cosplaying Iggy. We got to meet him and he greeted me and my friend (cosplaying Noctis) by name 😭

The music for Episode Ignis was done by Yasunori Mitsuda, so if that was your jam then Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Xenosaga 1 and 2, and the ending theme of Xenoblade 1 would by right up your alley

Also, episode Ardyn's back story definately solidifies him as one of the best atagonists in a FF series. A misunderstood saviour who was burdened with the starscourge and fate's destiny. Great video. If you have the time, you can also try reading the Dawn of the Future novel which follows the "Resist your fate" choice. The stories in there is the second set of DLC's for the game that were cancelled.
100%-ing this game was a royal pain, especially because of the DLC. They add depth to the characters which is nice (especially ignis) but man were they a pain to get the achievements for. Gladio's episode in particular took me more than a dozen attempts.

That's not exactly accurate, Ardyn's fate was already set before Somnus "betrayed" him. Ardyn was never meant to be king because he couldn't have fulfilled his destiny if he had been.

I remember when they added being able to fight as the others in the main game I pretty much stopped playing as Noct completely as the other were more fun in combat 😆

FFXV had many shortcomings, many things weren't realised because they were too ambitious, at times it leaned a bit too heavily into trying to be FFVII, and I'll never forgive Square for giving us XIII, XIII-2 and Lightning Returns but not XV's season 2 DLC... but I'd be damned before I say that I didn't enjoy it. Ardyn is such a good villain. Literally Jesus and the Anti-Christ in one and the same character.

For me, episode Ardyn is by far the best DLC episodes. Knowing Ardyn backstory and his origin is S+ tier in my book 💯👌🏼
