Wanted to do a full deep dive into this restuarant as i've never seen this episode prior to researching this and i can't believe how crazy they're.. the revisited episode at the end is INSANE
I don't know why people go on a show called Kitchen Nightmares and then have a breakdown when a very successful and rich chef tells them their Kitchen is a nightmare
I think a lot of it is like the waiters/cooks/etc. contacting the show because the owners won’t listen to them. But the owners would have to approve his visit, so it is bizarre when they freak out at the slightest bit of criticism.
Because half of the owners are essentially failures that in another world would have their business slowly fade out and close, Gordon tends to come in while the place is in it's lowest state and barely keeping the lights on. I think the freak outs are semi justified, delusion and resistance are a different matter and it's all too common that ego is what started a project and then reality sets in.
Well I mean Gordan has even said he's had failures in the resutrant business so he gets it happens but these people don't accept that. He came to my area and its good he did because those people were disgusting.
You missed out that Samy was deported for failing to disclose that he had served time for drug and extortion charges overseas, and they moved to Netaniya, Israel in 2018.
i think gordon wasnt upset that he couldnt help them, but more that they wasted his time while he could have helped someone who would have actually been grateful for his effort, time and money.

The reason Sammy won't tell Amy something is wromg isn't because he's afraid (he's a narcissist himself) Amy is one herself and will instantly shut any critcism. In a way, they are a perfect couple because neither would ever leave each other as it would be a sign of weakness on both their parts.
@Here_is_Waldo yeah I heard that too. It's very odd though. They call it narcissistic cementation For example -King Charles and Queen Camilla. They both rely on each other to receive the prime aims but at the same time like all narcissists are unaware of what they truly are.

After a little research just found out that the restaurant closed in 2015, Sammy got deported so they both moved back to Israel in 2018 and then finally in 2022 Amy divorced him and moved back to America.
The phrase “the customer is always right” isn’t even the phrase it actually “the customer is always right in matters of taste” because it’s personal to every individual

@@Legobuildermanthesequal the fashion industry stuck to the full phrase longer than most places, the phrase came in originally from the fashion and food industries and I believe like the other commentor said it will have been some god awful customers trying to get something for nothing

It's insane how the owners were so sure they were a perfect restaurant that they invited Ramsey themselves, fought against him the whole time, went on a tirade after the follow up episode and then shut down the following year. :')
ive enjoyed watching you so much recently , i love how you go so into depth with commentary instead of just making small comments, absolute legend of youtube
One of the things I was always told when I was doing management training is ‘the customer isn’t always right but they’re still a customer’ so basically, you can believe they’re wrong but you still have to be respectful it’s pretty basic stuff with any customer service work… this woman is insane 😮
In the Uk, you usually get an hourly wage + tips. While in America, most resturants don't pay waitors/waitresses an hourly wage and the only money they get is from tips. Sammy thought that by paying hourly they could pocket all the tips that would normally be the waitors/waitresses only pay they would get.
I took graphic design courses in college, and one of the most important things they taught us was how to give good constructive criticism. What I believe the most important rule of this is: Do not connect the artist to the design and make it personal; doing this can make it come off as more of an insult to the person as opposed to critiquing the design itself. An example of bad criticism they gave us was: "I don't like that you chose these colors and created that design as the center piece." Instead, they told us to do something along the lines of: "The colors don't seem to be working well with this type of composition, perhaps this color palette could work better." or "The main focus of the design doesn't make sense with the other details used to compliment its appearance." Honestly, and I'm speaking from personal experience, I found the criticism I got using this method with all 13 of our design projects to be much more productive in the long run. In the past, I have been downright insulted because I prefer to draw/design dragons more than anything. To the point where my elementary school wrote home to my parents about it, claiming I should stay away from it. But getting criticism that avoids 'you' and 'your' can make a really big difference and is definitely a way to avoid a blow to one's confidence. When it came to saying something you liked about someone's design, then you were allowed to use 'you' and 'your' as those comments aren't intended to make the person feel bad about themselves or their work. My only regret was not coming across this method of criticism until college. My instructor even voiced her approval over my commitment to incorporate a dragon into every single one of my mini projects. The challenge then became how to do it in a way that works and isn't just there to be there.

That whole no trust thing causing disaster is so true . My current boss goes on about how she can't trust her staff and the whole business is unorganized to cater to this paranoia
Thank you, RUclips is in a weird place atm, it’s hard to find general content to just potter to or just have a relaxed laugh at, but this page never lets me down, it’s always an old program I watched back then and found normal, only to rewatch now in a completely new perspective. I’d love to be rung up by Cam like ‘I’ve got an old episode of kitchen nightmares, fancy reacting?’ As I’d be there early 😅
A certain quote comes to mind every time I see someone react to this episode, and it’s specifically because of Amy’s inability to understand how important (and I’m sure Gordon would agree) of a mindset this quote is, especially for cooking. “The difference between a Master and a Novice is that a Master has Failed more times than the Novice has Tried.” Amy isn’t willing to “fail”, and thus will never progress past “Novice”. Meanwhile Gordon is one of the best chefs in the world, specifically because he himself has failed so many times that he’s learned what not to do. Bonus Fun Fact: Amy’s name isn’t even Amy! It’s actually _Amanda,_ and she simply goes by Amy because “Amanda” has a criminal record (which I’m sure we can guess how she got that), likely doing this to try and make it harder to find, so she and Samy are much more alike than they even initially appeared.
I used to work in a restaurant and we weren't allowed to keep the tips either. If we got any we were to hand them over to one of the owners right away. When it was pay day they would take us aside individually and give us our cash, yes we all ended up with different amounts depending on how good they thought we did that week. Was absolutely shocking and I won't be working as a waitress ever again 😂
Yep same..I would tell customers not to leave tips as we never got them..they would say, take the tip without the boss seeing..I'd have to hide tips in my shoe
- they were so deluded that they expected gordon to come in and tell them everything is perfect so amy could go back to the ''trolls'' to tell them they are wrong lol the plan didn't really work lol
( He made me and my ex partner at the time clean his stuff, run errands etc, not kitchen stuff, like unrealistic things that wasn't in our job descriptions ) I used to work in a small business years ago, was a sous chef there, the wife of the guy was exactly like Amy! Only she didn't work there, she just showed up and demanded everyone to make her drinks, get her this, that and the other. She was unbelievably rude. Demanding af. Nasty. No pleases, no thank yous nothing. The business didn't do well, and went into bankrupsy.. turns out they've done this multiple times, idk how it worked, but between them both they did this a lot. Owed me £600+ wages, never saw any of it. The worst part is the guy who owned it, the husband used to pick his nose and eat it, and would casually handle food.. I called him out on that when I didn't get my money 😅
42:03 Honestly this is so true. Situations like this are hard to watch. As someone who can be overly defensive, I think she needs a lot of internal reflection & help to figure out *_why_* she's so defensive and okay with how things are.
what annoys me most about Amy sending the girl home for asking is the fact Amy had literally just gotten the orders mixed up, and so obviously the girl was just making sure she knew the right order by asking 'are you sure?'
Apparently Amy didn't even make any of those cakes and desserts she had beautifully displayed, she would get them from a different local baker and tell people she makes them
The really funny thing is Sammy wasn't joking about the gangster line. Details emerged about his crimal past. Even more funny is Amy is a total fake, she was inside and when she got out she changed her name.
@cassandramagnusson1787 I'm like you, a repeat watcher 😂 It was a train wreck I couldn't get enough of. I even watched their update in Isreal. They knew Sammie shouldn't be in America yet they still went on TV 😊
I also read Amy admitted that the cakes she sold in the restaurant were shop bought.. NOT made by her.. interesting that they were so good, but her cooked meals sucked?!
Love the video but did make me laugh about the professional wine pourer taking years to train😂 because my uncles a master sommelier 😂 which does take years of training and studying for exams😂 obviously this type of place does not need one😂 just made me laugh him saying it sarcastically when it’s legitimately a thing😂
I am a server in the US and we get paid less than minimum wage and the tips either make up for it, or exceed it. Some days I make the equivalent of 20-40 bucks an hour, on others we make only that hourly rate. Even with that most serving shifts are only 4-6 hours a day (some people do crazy 12/14 hour days) So tips are the way we make money, we 100% rely on them as our income.
The thing is Gordon even said he liked the cakes and they looked good too, if they just stuck to cakes, brownies, cupcakes, sweet drinks and stuff that would be good. But I also do think it also does come down to attitude and the owners attitude is so shocking!!
Fun fact: Amy didn’t make the cakes or any of the baked goods, they’re were made off site by another company. so the ONE GOOD THING about the place was also a lie

YES!!! My favourite tv show blogger is back at it with a cracking kitchen nightmares review!!
😭❤️
Just found your channel! New subscriber for sure! I love your personality. Looking forward to binging your videos.
Welcome to the channel 🙌🏻❤️
yesssss, i love a cam kirkham main channel upload when eating dinner 🤭
Loving Cam's videos. It's like having a drink with a British friend that begins conversations; "mate, did you see shit on kitchen nightmares?!" 😅
42:03 Honestly this is so true. Situations like this are hard to watch. As someone who can be overly defensive, I think she needs a lot of internal reflection & help to figure out *_why_* she's so defensive and okay with how things are.
I love cam so much … he’s hilarious
Amy is well known for watching people doing reactions to this episode, so everyone say hi! Hi Amy!
Woah I haven’t watched Cam in ages but the new editing (and background) since then is brilliant!
I want this background in my house
what annoys me most about Amy sending the girl home for asking is the fact Amy had literally just gotten the orders mixed up, and so obviously the girl was just making sure she knew the right order by asking 'are you sure?'
Apparently Amy didn't even make any of those cakes and desserts she had beautifully displayed, she would get them from a different local baker and tell people she makes them
ur vids bring a smile to my face xx especially after my day
I have never been more excited for a video in my life- thanks cam! From a very happy donut 🍩
The really funny thing is Sammy wasn't joking about the gangster line. Details emerged about his crimal past. Even more funny is Amy is a total fake, she was inside and when she got out she changed her name.
2 best things to binge watch together! INSANE 🎉
There's NO WAY in the hell Amy baked those cakes and pastries 🥧. Completely bought from an actual professional bakery. 😊
They proved this a few years ago!! She did not make it!! 😂. So insane!!
@cassandramagnusson1787 Thank you 🌹🌹
@@jordanparker657 of course!! I remember watching this episode live!! I've watched it so many times and all the follow up!! I would be mortified!! 😭🤪.
If Phoebe from friends completely flipped her lid, that would be Amy
This was so good!! Needed a giggle
perfect timing. Just finished dinner and now I have some wonderful entertainment 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
It's funny that it came out later that her cakes and dessert were actually store bought and not baked by Amy like she said lmfao
YES CAM I’m so glad you’re reacting to this!!!! ❤
Best Brit RUclipsr should be tought in history
YESSS! this was the best episode of kitchen nightmares ever!!!
My fav ep ever 😂 shes nuts in the best way because it was great entertainment.
My daughter introduced me to your vids and now you’re one of my favourite RUclipsr 😁 Mums love Cam Kirkam 🤣💕
he is deffo smiling in his room
Let’s get Cam to 500k subs before Christmas
I am a server in the US and we get paid less than minimum wage and the tips either make up for it, or exceed it. Some days I make the equivalent of 20-40 bucks an hour, on others we make only that hourly rate. Even with that most serving shifts are only 4-6 hours a day (some people do crazy 12/14 hour days) So tips are the way we make money, we 100% rely on them as our income.
😂😂Send him home, come back tomorrow and it'll be ready 😂😂❤
My day is made, cam has uploaded 🥳
I'm glad you got to see this crazy episode Cam. I'm glad she's not a doctor or nurse, it would be terrifying if your life was in her hands.
Had an absolutely rubbish day, so thank you for the pick me up Cam!
The thing is Gordon even said he liked the cakes and they looked good too, if they just stuck to cakes, brownies, cupcakes, sweet drinks and stuff that would be good. But I also do think it also does come down to attitude and the owners attitude is so shocking!!
Plot twist. They admitted they bought in the cakes. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
I can't believe this boss takes the waitresses' tips. Like wth? 😮
Isn’t that illegal?
Hi Cam, just wanted to say I have a good laugh with all of your videos 😂 All the way from South Africa!
Oh god I remember this one when it went out 😂😂😂 she's a proper pain.
Just as I started my obsession with Kitchen Nightmares, AND JUST WATCHING THIS BEFORE I GOT THE NOTIF, I have to say Cam has read my mind❤
Fun fact: Amy didn’t make the cakes or any of the baked goods, they’re were made off site by another company. so the ONE GOOD THING about the place was also a lie
44:18 it’s like evolution but backwards 😂😂😂😂😂
iconic episode 😂
