    One have to be a complete idiot not to flatten the tire before welding or lug cutting.

      It’s actually a phenomenally bad video. Probably tire shops that train their guys by watching this and they won’t learn much. A lot of what they said was bullshit and just really far fetched scenarios like welding near an inflated tire…you’d be so stupid that you’d deserve to die.

    We need something faster and better than a wire brush. Even with a power wire brush on an angle grinder it takes a long time clean up the bead seats and mounting surfaces and it's impossible to get the threads of the studs or the tangs of the hub pilot. Cleaning the face of the brake drum would require meticulously cleaning between the studs or backing off the slack adjuster and removing the brake drum. There's new parts and demos, then there's the everyday job.
