I’m glad some fans still know Yoseob. For those who don’t, he is a really great vocalist from Highlight/BEAST or actually all the members are great vocalists. A few hits of theirs I recommend is Fiction, 12:30 and Good Luck. Seungkwan and other SVT members are their fans too.

Solely for mixed, Seungkwan seems the best here. His resonance is very consistent. His control is nice. I guess the G4 is really his place. His resonance in G4 is quite big. He has the most balanced mixed here. He seems the best in mid to upper 4th octave. That thing that hinder him to become a proficient vocalist is his lows, his mixed is now in the proficient level. He seems the most consistent up to G#4/A4. Carats should appreciate his vocals more, seeing Seungkwan rank 2nd or even 3rd is just a bit off. The gap between him and DK isn't that large but it is pretty pretty noticeable. Second is Baekhyun, the thing with Baekhyun is that he usually likes to pushed too much, also his mixed is quite unbalanced. His resonance seems very nice. The ease in the 5th octave tho. Healthiest technique in the 5th octave. He is consistent up to G#4/A4. Third is Yoseob, he's quite consistent up to G4/G#4 with resonance. He has fair issues with nasality. He might be the least technical skilled in mixed here but overall it's the other way around. His lows and headvoice is the best here, that reason gave him the boost. His lows are well developed, consistent support in headvoice up to C#5. Bro I was skeptical about watching ranking or comparison videos like this but I'm glad I found yours. I like how the comment section has more of objective facts than personal opinions. I love all of their voices and I'm a beauty before I was a carat, but as a "mom" carat (because I literally started stanning them during seventeen tv days so that's before their debut), I love how my "son" is compared to his two big sunbaes and that alone is a big feat. Also, how incredible it is that the notes they hit are comparable considering Seungkwan is younger and has fewer years of experience as an idol. Loved the video during seventeen tv and most of his vids coming from unofficial covers or 'playful' clips, those vids compared to the videos shown here for Baek and Yoseob which are all videos after their debut and most are from concerts or music show performances is a big comfort and pride for us carats. @@doroshiya He didn't regressed but somehow he's been thinning out. The last time I've heard him produced "resonance" was around 2021, and his Lee Mujin Service wasn't a good material for him imo. I hope he would release a new cover that would require him to belt and impress us again. Either way, their songs (the group songs and BSS) don't really showcase his capabilities at all so I wouldn't be surprised if there is some decline on his belting later on.

Seungkwan is not counter tenor. Besides counter tenor is not a voice type to begin with. It's a voice role. Any tenor with a bright and light voice can play it . Seungkwan is a lighter tenor

If I had to make a guess, I'd probably say he is around Average or Average to Above Average. His approach up to G4/G#4 isn't bad at all PHS for me is the closest example to an Excellent Male Tenor, but Sohyang still has upper hands due to her extensive technique in Mix and Head voice and yes the ranking above is already based on Technique

The trinity has always been PHS, Jung Dongha and Naul If Chen was here, he would be slotted right below Kyuhyun If Eunkwang was here, I would put him right below Kim Bum Soo

the cover is exactly how I've always anticipated her general approach to be. 0:10 A3, she was able to produce tone here; 0:25 F3 with tone again but done on a lowered larynx; 0:58 G4 and F#4, all sung with throat tension; 2:06 I hear a high larynx on this G4; 2:17 strained A4; 2:17 relaxed falsetto. As usual, she wasn't truly supporting her voice here. the answers to these can be found in my ranking vid~ Solar's OST: 2:11 that's a strained and shouty D5 for me; 2:13 resonant B4; 2:16 still too much pushing and tension on this D5; 2:20 resonant B4; 2:30 slightly closed throat due to the vowel, followed by resonant B4s; 2:48 strained D5. @@yanyan.wonwom Kang Kyun Sung's order looks a bit low because the ones above him are just more advanced, he actually has shown quite a number of improvements over the years. If I had to make a guess, I'd probably say he is around Average or Average to Above Average. His approach up to G4/G#4 isn't bad at all
PHS for me is the closest example to an Excellent Male Tenor, but Sohyang still has upper hands due to her extensive technique in Mix and Head voice
and yes the ranking above is already based on Technique

@@yanyan.wonwom when Kang Kyun Sung ascends above G#4, there is a clear shift in his technique where he relies more on squeezing the throat which produces tension, which from what I've grown accustomed to, not a good sign
And no, I don't think there are any male vocalists who could be ranked higher than PHS. The trinity has always been PHS, Jung Dongha and Naul
If Chen was here, he would be slotted right below Kyuhyun
If Eunkwang was here, I would put him right below Kim Bum Soo

Lol baekhyun will eat all the other guys (maybe not seungkwan as a whole) becuz he's a full lyric tenor and have the tessitura as just as high as the other higher voice guys (seungkwan sound light lyric tenor who's bordering full lyric while yoseob sound like very high and small tenor/tenore contraltino).
Mee too. Baekhyun's belts sounds very rich and full.
Many people said that he's a light lyric but I believe baekhyun is actually a full lyric.
I'm not quite sure who yoseob is but my personal favourite is seungkwang.

the cover is exactly how I've always anticipated her general approach to be. 0:10 A3, she was able to produce tone here; 0:25 F3 with tone again but done on a lowered larynx; 0:58 G4 and F#4, all sung with throat tension; 2:06 I hear a high larynx on this G4; 2:17 strained A4; 2:17 relaxed falsetto. As usual, she wasn't truly supporting her voice here.

The video is not fair to me since you hardly put notes or Baekhyun's best high notes, you only put the notes of your favorite cante, for me Baekhyun is better and of course he has better notes, only you don't put them.

@@cutedog9185 just to be sure EXO's vocal line also includes Suho and Xiumin right? but still EXO's vocal line is slightly better because Suho supports while Moonbyul doesn't. As a group the other members really drag the overall rating down so MMM wins.

He is noticeably better. Seungkwan produces resonance regularly while DK can have issues with tensing his muscles even within his usual supported range.
@@ReggieVu I don’t agree. Dk can convey more emotion and is better at belting and high notes while making it sound natural. Dk also has a wider range and has unbeatable falsetto. I will admit that seungkwan has better technique but Dk is still amazing
