  • I had to share this with you, guys. Booker arriving to Columbia is my favorite scene in the whole game and seeing it remastered for Bioshock The Collection was a whole new experience. The colors, the brightness, the shapes... everything looks so aesthetically pleasing that I could barely believe my eyes.
I really hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

God this reveal still hits to this day. I love that little piano that plays as you see the city. It suits the tone of the game and the presentation is amazing. I played this fantastic beginning again and again at least a dozen times after I beat the game itself. It's so amazing, so thrilling and extremely atmospheric. The sheer beauty of Columbia when you see it the first time, congenially accompanied by the soft music, is awe inspiring. The moment when I walked the streets, watched all the life going on and about - incredible. I was literally sad when the action part began and the beauty began to turn into a nightmare. One of the greatest gaming experiences I ever had (I play games since back in '94).

I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, Where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well.
