I think sound tests are subjective, but as long as you're looking at sound tests from the same person with the mostly same setup each time, you can at least hear the differences in keyboard sounds - and can be helpful in that regard, especially if there is a sound test of your keyboard that you can compare to as a benchmark
I was dosing off to this relaxing performance until 5:05 and 6:06 sounded like somebody peeing on a tent.

I love that you liked my comment like a week ago that said I can’t tell the difference between keyboard sounds unless they’re back to back. And then you upload ALL the keyboards back to back. I love you hippo man.
It's hard to tell the best because you did such a good job with modding some of these, however it's super clear which are really bad. The Yikes, then quickly followed by all Razor, then ROG keyboards... Personally I love the Womier S-K71 because of it's insane value and sound, followed by the Zoom 75. Thanks for such a great year in 2023 and I look forward to watching in 2024!

the fact that the soundtests are 2 seconds has bothered me litterally all year
1. Stock Rainy 75 w/ WOB Switches @ 5:52
2. Zoom 75 w/ Morandis @ 16:53
3. Drop Sense 75 @ 14:00
Promise TKL @ 18:04 is also nice, but too pricey for me. Sick builds this year, Hipyo!

I ordered a zoom 75 a week ago, they have a few in-stock options rn. Ordered the Morandis as well and a set of ws keycaps. I loved the sound of that keyboard the minute I heard it in one of his videos. Can't wait to finally have one, it's my first proper mechanical (currently using a logi mx mechanical)
I've seen some people type with only the 2 index fingers (and quite fast too) before but your method of using left hand and the right index finger is very unique!
I use right hand and left index finger and go quite fast, I've gotten up to 116WPM when really focused.

It just sounds like foam, like any other budget board.

bit based since i just bought it, but i think the zoom 75 is the best sounding. However, it's a pretty close call with the rainy 75. They both sound amazing. I really think the rainy indeed sounds like rain drops falling against a window, whereas the zoom sounds much more creamy, almost... delicious. I work in home office 100% of my time, so it really was time to upgrade from my "old" roccat vulcan aimo. I'm so so happy i discovered your channel and my new love fot mechanical keyboards in 2023

And I definitely prefer a marbly sound.
From this I think I broadly (but not universally) prefer the sound of plastic chassis with foam to the aluminum ones.
Now I want a plastic-chassis Keychron Q14 Pro with Keychron Banana switches.
hey hipyo, have you seen the polar 65 and do you plan to review it?
seems to be a semi-budget keyboard with rapid trigger, but more marketed towards keyboard enthusiasts than the wooting, razer, and steel series counterparts.
was wondering if it would perform well sound and feel wise since i personally want to try rapid trigger as a competitive player but don’t wanna give up having a nice sound and touch to my typing experience.

How do you stay up to date on all the new keyboard releases? I've been trying to get my hands on a 75% layout with non separated arrow keys, aluminum case and in a gray/silver color for so long. By the time I find out about something like the Rainy 75 or the MKC 75 they are already sold out. I mention those as they fall within my budget. Wish I could afford the KBD Taco but I don't think I would want to spend that much even if I could lol. Please help me Hipyo Tech!

Honestly... listening to that stock v75 made me just outright buy it -- all the keyboard I've purchased have been because of your videos, aside from 2.
My first board - Tofu60 2.0 w/ Morandi
And my 2nd to newest addition - Royaleaxe y68 (I bought it on sale and am using it as a test keyboard to mod and mess with)

If you live with someone who hates the click of a loud switch, the Sea Salt Silent Switches on the Epomaker RT100 is 100% worth it

I never really listened to keyboards before. I really liked the Stock Rainy 75 WOB Switches and the Promise TKL WS Yellow GMK GodSpeed builds.

Morandis and Graywoods sound great in so many boards.
Also good job to Razer with the Blackkwidow V4 75% Gen 3 Orange and ROG with the Strix Scope II 96% NX Snow, both sound great stock.
You should do a review of the Gamakay sn75 barebones!
Hey keyboard “snobs,” got a question. Just ordered a Keychron V4 I plan on modding lightly. For the price, would yall say thats a worthwhile purchase?
Maybe I am biased cause I actually went and bought it, but man the Womier Sk71 is just absolute insane value for how it sounds out of the box.
I added lubed kangaroo V2's and I haven't been able to stop typing. When I turn off my PC for the day, I just ghost type for like 2 minutes before I finally get up lol.
That one surprised me the most! Insane value.
Could you review the Logitech g910, ik it’s an older keyboard but I wanna see how it compares to newer ones.
It's amazing how bad the Sense 75 sounded stock to be such a great keyboard... and yea I watched the whole thing. Still fascinated by how good the stock Cidoo V65 sounds, picking up one today locally and excited to see how it sounds. And just to note... dang that was a lot of keyboards!
I have the Cidoo V75 and is sounds and feels waaaaay out of its price class. Incredible. This is even an OEM keyboard, meaning that other brands are selling it too (a white and a grey one if I recall correctly). Anyway. Just got me Zoom65 after watching this video and it might actually sound a bit worse after the whole lubing exercise than the stock Cidoo V75.
@@danosdotnl the V65 sounds amazing as well! Truly sounds as good out of the box as keyboard 3 times the price. I switched the keycaps to even higher quality and it got even better... amazing. I know some people don't seem to like CIDOO / Epomaker but thus far I've been very impressed with everything I have purchased from them!

Hey Hipyo, what's that... "metallic scratch/ping" noise I hear from your sound tests? Not sure if it's spring ping, the stabs, or something else, but I first noticed it back with the Monsgeek M1 and now I notice it in all these sound tests. Could you help me figure out what it is? It's killing me.
Bad sound quality. Honestly baffled by how bad it is and why he doesn't fix it.
I'd have to go with the Rainy 75 Stock as the most prefered!

Try the keychron v1 max hipyo. Basically the V1 without the previous problems.
Hipyo you should try either the Weikav Sugar 65 or the Weikav Record Alice, I think the Alice is crazy since I found one in taobao for around 40 bucks and it has a brass weight (at least I think it’s brass)

Depends what your budget and how much effort you are willing to put into the keyboard is. My top budget/ low effort kryboards are Rainy75, Cidoo 75, and womier s-k71 aka yunzii al 71
