I would order these right now if they ditched the plastic inserts. They will affect sound profile, might not be glued in perfectly (they have almost 2,000 sets pre-ordered already, someone is gonna get a dud set for sure which would cause key imbalance,) and could even come loose and need to be glued back in (yikes). This just doesn't seem acceptable for a $200 CAD set after shipping, new keycap material or not. They managed to do it proper for the spacebar, so they should just delay the sets until this is perfected on the other modifier keys. Like, there's no chance they are going to meet their 2,000 set orders in August 2022 as it is, despite what their kickstarter page says. These keycaps look amazing, but the plastic inserts just looks.. cheap and sloppy. At 8:21 you can just see the yellow glue everywhere LOL. Also kickstarters kinda mega suck because a lot of people have been scammed there before. That said, I'd rather wait and pay the extra 30 bucks to get these once they get new molds and ditch the plastic inserts, and also get to avoid kickstarter in the process. lol
I just got some in March of 2024 off their website and not kickstarter. The stabilizer issues are solved. I have a cherry MX pink in my spacebar and it is maybe a little sluggish but it still works fine. The glossiness was the selling point for me honestly, but I'm a writer, not a gamer. The only complaint I have is that the spacing is a little wonky between the control windows and delete keys. These keycaps were exactly what I was looking for and I find it super weird that nobody else makes a glossy keycap. I placed an order for a set of these for a very special mechanical keyboard, my Abkoncore AR87. An incredibly special keyboard, weighing in at nearly 7 pounds of machined aluminum, deserves incredibly special keycaps. So rather than using my all-stainless steel keycap set. Which were OEM Profile and didn't quite fit the style as this keyboard was really designed to be used with Cherry Profile. I went ahead with this instead! I'm extremely excited to be one of the first with an all-ceramic keycap set in exclusive Crazed Blue. In addition to the other mods I've got planned like soldering LEDs to backlight the keycaps etc. It'll be about as custom as it can get and incredibly rare, a crown jewel of a keyboard as it were, that'll be durable enough to last forever and something special I hope to pass down someday. They let me know since they got over 4,000 orders, they plan to get them all manufactured and shipped by August-October of this year!! May the Thock be with you.

07:18 Pottery person here 👋 (Also I realize I'm very late to this video, my bad, but I figured I'd explain for people who aren't aware) Crazing, or "crazed" in this instance, refers to the glaze job. It doesn't mean "crazy". Typically crazing is actually a glaze *defect* in ceramics, but it can be done intentionally. Basically, it's pottery speak for all of those little cracks running through the colour, kinda making it look like broken glass.
Ooh man! I found you a week ago and have binged your content so hard. I love your voice and jokes! One day I really want to experience one of those good keebs! (I learned a cool slang word)
I'd describe the sound as "tok" it's thock but you hear most of the deepness on the bottom out. because the keycaps are so heavy you don't get much sound on the recovery. regular keycaps give a sound at the bottom and top, (as seen in any waveform analysis), these give mostly only one signal, very nice "tok"
crazed is a description of the glaze on those caps. crazing is what ceramicists call it when the glass or "glaze" on a ceramic object is crackled due to a difference in shrinkage between the clay and the glaze.
I got holme sleepy and while i watched the video i actualy slept, then i dreamed about my uncle talking about his keyboard build and the problems he had with the spacebar lol. Nice build btw

Gonna get super nerdy here but they show large crystals growing in their product video. Generally glazes don’t have a lot of crystals. Crazing, technically considered a defect, occurs when the glaze does not fit the item it’s on. Growing crystals in a glaze is quite difficult. It takes time, effort and precise control of the cooling process which requires additional fuel. Crystalline glazes aren’t easy to work with. They like to run so they do better on large flat surfaces.
