Hey Mike, lucky you to have your family and what great looking food. Nice to see the guys in shipping that send me my stuff. I listen to your pod-casts and it's great seeing the FPP building and equipment. Stay well, Tom

A while back I thrifted this type of camera but haven't gotten into buying any film for it so this is really great! And yes, a video on how to meter would be helpful! I always follow sunny 16 but sometimes my estimates are not always accurate haha
You can easily use a Light Meter app in your phone. Most Double 8 cameras shoot at 1/30th sec. Combine that with your film ISO and you'll get the proper f-stop # in your meter. Good luck.

just bought a Zoomica 8mm camera , going to give it a test, do i set film speed to 40ASA if i use 100 D film B & W , the film speed on camera will go higher no markings on dial, use a light meter
Better to use our 50 iso film and set your camera to 40 asa. Or use a ND filter - filmphotographyproject.com/content/howto/2020/05/fpp-250-expose-film-vintage-movie-camera/
@@FilmPhotographyProject -- well, I have collected a few Kodak Brownie original 8mm cameras, a few Brownie II 8mm cameras -- including some 3-lens turret models, and an interesting Tower triple-lens turret model. They are all in various states of completeness/operation. Hopefully when we can get out and about more I will order some double-8mm rolls and try these out!
I just got the cine8 400bw from the Analogue Wonderland UK. :-) How can I diy develop it in Rodinal (times, temperature)? Thank you for your great services. Cheers!
Hi, we don't have times for Rodinal so you will have to experiment. If you're developing the entire roll you will need a tank designed specifically for movie film (like a Lomo or Morse tank).
You can use general BW developer like Kodak HC-110. Need a special tank - filmphotographyproject.com/content/howto/2019/06/processing-movie-film-tank-manage/
Yes, I agree. I used a D-Mount from my Revere camera. Not sure but perhaps not a great fit for the Bolex. Going to give it another go with a Switar wide angle lens.
Greetings. No, simply use our 16mm page for 100 ft Double 8 - filmphotographystore.com/collections/fpp-scanning-services/products/process-scan-service-16mm-super-16-100-ft-rolls Happy shooting!
Butla Octu I already have a couple and I paid $10 for each. I just barely sent my film out for developing but I used the same roll to test each camera.

Haha love your soundeffects! Definitely gonna test this stock later :)
Also, I just happened to pick up a Yashica 8 as my first double 8 camera before lockdown. Can’t wait to put some film through it!
I love this So much. I don't know why this makes me want to get into film cameras Soo bad. Thank you for sharing.
Film is BEST, Vinyl is BEST, Nitro engines for model airplanes are BEST. Excellent video.
Absolutely love this stuff !
Great roll!
Great stuff, Mike! Thank you!!
Unexpectedly fine grain
Very cool!
When will you guys restocking on the new Ektachome 8mm 😇

Hi Great to see 8mm being used again and why not, reel to reel tape machines are still been used so why not abandon all them cameras to the tip

What is the time equivalent to the 50 ft of film? A few minutes?

Nicely made with the foley and sounds :-) Did you use ND-Filters outdoors? What f-stops did you use with this film?
Was overcast outdoors so no ND filter was needed. f22 outdoors / f1.9 indoors (with all indoor lights on) - Mike

Cool -- it has the 1950's B&W B-movie vibe going! Exactly what camera did you use for this? Thanks Mike and FPP!!! Stay safe!
I used the Yashica 8 camera. My go-to Double 8 camera!

@@FilmPhotographyProject thank you. I got lomo tank. Can you quote me times and temperature for d96, then, plz?
Хорошее качество! Как оцифровывали?
оцифровано проектом Film Photography Project.
what Film speed was selected on camera ? 40 ASA ?
The Yashica 8 is a full manual camera. 16fps - set f-stop by metering with my Gossen Luna Pro F meter
thanks for advice
Will you guys be making it in Super 8 as well? i need a high speed b&w film!
No plans for Super 8 at the moment. Just Double 8 and Double Perf 16mm.
do you have any estimates on at home development times ? thanks !!
Hi Grace. Responded to your IG message.
Is the aperture my only control for exposure when shooting? Imo it's not ideal to jump between frame speeds for exposure
Some cameras have no frame speed adjustment and are fixed at 16 frames per second. I always recommend shooting at 16fps.
Will FPP be re-releasing any of the color 8mm film again?
Yes. Consider signing up for our email newsletter to be notified - filmphotographyproject.com
FilmPhotographyTube just did! Thanks and looking forward to it
The grain is not bad at all.
What chemicals would I need to process this at home? I can only find how to do reversal.

Can you make the film in cartridge form for later movie camera models? I have a Minolta auto pak k5 8 mm camera
If your AutoPak Minolta is Super 8, then no we can not. We only manufacture Double 8 film.
Can this film still work in a camera that only goes up to ISO 40?
iso 400 can only be used if the camera has a manual mode (or if the auto setting can be set to 320 or 400).
@@FilmPhotographyProject Much obliged.
By the way which cellphone light meter you recommend for Android? Thanks
EDUARDO from Colombia
Hi Eduardo. It's simply called "Light Meter App". I think the basic version is free!
Does anyone still make double super8 in 100' rolls? Thanks
Will this work in a brumberger T3L?
Send a pic of your camera film compartment (with a note) - Michael@FilmPhotographyProject.com
The H-8 results seem to be softer than the Yashica. Is it slightly out of focus or would there be another reason?
Yes, I agree. I used a D-Mount from my Revere camera. Not sure but perhaps not a great fit for the Bolex. Going to give it another go with a Switar wide angle lens.
I gotta get over to new Jersey it all seems like pizza parties from what I can tell!
Would I have to pay 4 25 foot developing with the fpp darkroom for the 100 foot rolls
