Part of the fun of stacking for me is looking for coin stores while I’m out on the road. It makes my job more enjoyable and the hobby more enjoyable. I love going into a coin store and not knowing what I’ll find, except during the pandemic craze when several coin stores had no gold.
Yeah that must be exciting. If I am ever passing something that looks like a coin shop I'd always call in but rarely seen in England or at least where I end up.
@@SovereignSaurus I've had a look up this part of the world (Scotland) and can't find any decent local suppliers. Some pawn shops and jewellers but they charge quite a bit more than the online dealers. I'll stick to online but keep my eye out around the local shops every now and then to see if I can catch a deal 🙂
Great video 👍 I buy the vast majority of my precious metal from my local antique shop as they have the best prices as well as a constant large stock of silver and gold coins
I buy most of my stuff from online dealers if the premiums are low. I also use a forum and buy stuff from individuals who have been on there forever. Its good cause you can see what your getting. I got a lot of large dealers here in nyc, but i'm lucky to have found a small guy who doesnt have much gold but good prices. Thanks for sharing your experience.
OOOOOHHH!!! You picked up that Tudor Lion Gold coin twice! I am expecting mine in a couple of days! That is a beautiful design. I already have the Platinum version, so I know it will be great. I also ordered the 2oz and 10 oz Silver ones. (No, I'm not a Proof-y person!). I'm over here in the States, I ordered the Platinum and Gold ones from SilverGoldBull online, great prices. The Platinum is now $952, it dropped from $1100 in the last few weeks, because Platinum dropped quite a bit. The Gold one was $1820. No "VAT" tax, of course, and free shipping. I also buy from MonumentMetals, also great prices. I'll have the whole Lion set by next week, minus the Proof, which I don't have any interest in. Local stuff here is pretty much nothing, and overpriced. I like the selection online.
Awesome thanks for the insight over there. Yes currently I've got a few 1/4 Oz lions a 1 Oz gold and 1 of the 2 Oz and 10 oz silver. I definitely plan to continue the gold but not sure if I'll get both silver sizes going forward
A smorgasbord of coins, lovely 🙆♂️Living in Japan, I primarily get my silver from Bullion Now in Melbourne (fantastic service) . My sovereigns, I buy from jewelry shops, coin dealers etc wherever the price is reasonable 🙆♂️ Thanks for informative video. J.
Fantastic. They've usually given the best coins for me too compared to other online dealers when I've picked best value. I really like the jubilee head. Although I only have 1887 in half sovereign at the moment
It depends what you're buying I guess. Some items like a best value sov is usually very similar across the board (maybe £1 or so different to other dealers) but I've often had nice examples of the older sovs like Victorias in the best value selection and a capsule. They had some cheap 10 Oz silver coins recently and I bought multiple of the quarter Oz gold standard coin in the past for an absolute bargain. Just shop around if there's something specific you want and choose them 👍🏼
What kind of certificate? Most bullion coins don't have certificates. I'm not sure of places you can visit there but there are many online dealers that will service you in those areas 👍🏼
I've used Apmex, JM Billion, Money Metals. Limited amounts, dates, quality. Sometimes I'm on a wait list and score. Would be fun to get one from across the pond ! I got my first gold coin from Australia and it arrived on Christmas Eve !
@@fazchistii1418 Ahh, that is probably why I haven't come across them. Although it shouldn't be an issue for gold I'd usually stick to UK companies within UK . I checked gold avenue website and they look ok but perhaps slightly more expensive. Coin Invest and goldsilver be I have used in EU and would rate them highly from my experiences
I don't often buy them due to the premiums but probably 10 to 20%. The cheapest I've seen recently have been around £170 with gold hovering I'm the high £1400s. I have bought some half sovereign though spot plus post and some others at less than 3%. They would be my choice for this kind of price point
Another useful and invaluable video from you. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

This is a great video and you've given me a note of a dealer I was unaware of. Thanks for putting this together
Glad to help 👍🏼 You might find your own suppliers locally too but good to stick with the big names whilst you learn what's what

great video , good advice , enjoy watching and learning off you

That's good. peer to peer definitely has advantages of you can evaluate the seller and verify them in some way nice one 👍🏼
Pls what NYC dealers can I buy from?

Great to have some choices. Bullion Now looks good for folks on that side of the world.
I ordered three sovereigns from BBP and I got two Victorias. One being a lovely 1887.

Who doesn't love seeing a few nice gold coins 😁

If it’s bullion I’m usually buying online because it’s just easier and I can shop round the clock.
Yeah it's a definite advantage, good point
I like your video but your sound isn’t very loud. Maybe one or two more notches up. Loving the Britannia collection
Thanks for the feedback I'll see what I can do 👍🏼
Just picked up 13 sov job lot 😅
Thanks 🙏
👌🏽
I mainly buy online, with the few sellers who accept to ship to my country. There are no lcs here. Otherwise, I use the pro sellers on ebay.
Good call. Some dealers do use eBay too
@@SovereignSaurus yes and fortunately
What about the royal mint?
Generally very expensive though it depends... There isn't one best dealer and it depends what you're buying and deals available at the time
Profound

Please tell me a real place where I can physically come and buy a gold coin and they will give me a certificate for it in Liverpool or Manchester

I can't buy from Bullion by Post here in the USA.
I've tried because they had what I wanted.
I've heard of a few dealers in US but haven't personally used any of them. Do you have a local coin store perhaps?

What about Gold Avenue, Is this reputable online dealer?
I've never heard of them but they could be? Which country are they in?

Yeah I only use the big UK online sellers to many crooks and scammers in this game 😆
For me I'm happy paying literally a couple of £ more for the security and trust of a 'main' dealer too
get your nails cleaned for the close ups lol
Haha clean money but dirty hands. I do do a bit of graft from time to time 😁
OK, ffs how petty!
