Great job.
Thanks so much, I appreciate the comment!
I’m replacing a side board and found rot on 2x2 lateral roof support on my rockwood pop up. After watching this I have plan to cut roof about 12 inches from side and replace rotted section; then patch with bondo to create seal then use roof sealant. The roof material is seen on bathroom walls in commercial settings a little rough non smooth surface Fiberglas type. Good reference thanks
Glad it helped!
Excellent videos, thank you. Just curious how long the entire roof project took? Apologies if you already answered this question elsewhere.
No worries, the entire roof took about four days, start to finish, and about $650 in materials. More time was spent on the interior side (2 full days). The exterior side took two days; however, part of that was the waiting time to let the first coat of paint dry.
@@parkedredesign I see. Thank you. You’ve inspired me to get cracking on mine.
@@comfycozygamer3892 Great! If you have questions along the journey please feel free to message me.
What do you think of pressure washing it before you began this job? Just an observation as I just got an 1999 Coleman pop-up today?
I didn't pressure wash this one because it had a lot of holes in it, so I just hand washed it. If it didn't have all the holes I would have pressure washed it.
@@parkedredesign Thank You 😊
@@joannekennedy4093 You're Welcome
looks good, but while you had that sander out I would have removed the decal... seems nobody ever does before coating the roofs on pop ups
I agree with you, I thought the same thing after I started painting over it. Next time I would do that.
@@parkedredesign I thought the same thing but you know what, that is a hell of a lot of work you did on this and if that is the only issue, you've done a heck of a job.
@@seeya4046 I will say, I also thought the rubber paint was going to be thick enough to cover the imperfections, but it wasn't
@@seeya4046 Thank you, I appreciate that!
Wire management should've been done before attaching panels. I probably would've removed exterior trim, lights and graphics .
I am assuming by wire management you mean put the wires under the panel. If so, I was thinking about doing that at first; however, there was a board running along the rail that would have pinched the wires unless I bored it out. I did not want to touch the integrity of that board so I ran the wires as the factory did on top of the panels. I appreciate the comment, next one I may try to remove the exterior trim.
I'm sorry that I made these observations and didn't mention the most important one. You did a good job! I also thank you for sharing, I'm sure many took a positive, as did I. Good luck to you, sir. 👍👍
Thank you, Please stay tuned for more rehabs!@@raysepulveda7620
I think it turned out well , I like how your rolled the rubber right over the old palomino sticker , you may have been able to sand that sticker some to get the rubber to lay a little flatter , nice work , especially that interior ,
@@vitbing Thank you, If I could do it again I would have sanded off the palomino sticker. I thought that the rubber paint would be thicker and cover more of the imperfections, lesson learned. (and sorry it took me so long to respond., I must have missed your comment somehow :))
