  • In karate, and all other martial arts, it is important to learn the value of humility. It is important to understand that we always have a lot more to learn, even if we think we already know a lot. Karate provides us with many reminders of this valuable lesson. This video talks about the importance of having a beginner's mind in your training regardless of your level or rank.

This is a great message, and something to really think about. "Beginners mind" is a zen concept that fits karate perfectly. To really know karate on a spiritual level, one needs to know themselves; and zen has been the path that many masters have taken. Thanks for sharing.

After seeing this video I felt very happy that I always wanted to remain, in my heart and mind, a white belt. Humility is true strenght, I believe. I wish to learn and understand, more than I care about progressing. Thanks for this lesson, sensei
