For my 37th birthday, my mother gifted my family tickets to see this. After serving 15 years in the military and with my grandfather having been a WWII Mosquito pilot, I felt an immense sense of pride witnessing this. The dedication and skill of the pilots were truly remarkable.
Impressive. Had to leave early and the formation passed over the M11 just as we went underneath. Good to see so many airworthy Spits these days, and four Hurricanes too. Once upon a time you were lucky to see one.
Breathtaking! Gives me chills. Thinking 80 years ago young men occupied the seats of these beautiful planes. Scared to death but yet drugging on the fight the Hun. God bless them all. We owe them an immeasurable gratitude for their heroic efforts!
Wow the hum, the buzz the brrrrr of the engines, I can only imagine hearing this in the 40's and thinking these guys are our lifeline and ultimately they were. Thanks for keeping them flying.
I have been there! Great show! Excellent organized. Everything was safe and the outcome of a brilliant teamwork was terrific. Thanks to all who keep this part of history up.
For many years we were very lucky enough to see this from our house for nothing in fact all of the aircraft came over and to turn to head back nice to see again thank you
Maybe not really on the scale of a "big wing", but a glorious sight and sound! I'm so lucky to see a Spitfire flying most days where I live, but my heart missed a beat at the sight of three Hurricanes!
I was there yesterday (Sunday) Magnificent, awe-inspiring and spine-tingling just about sum up this fly past of 12 Spitfires and 4 Hurricanes. Not only one fly past, but THREE! Then the Hurri's broke away and left the 12 Spits to do one more! Unbelievable sights and sounds. 🇬🇧🇬🇧👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is what Britain was about !! Everyone needs to realise that these people fought for this country ,how would they feel to see what has become of it now.British spirit wont be beaten .
Amazing! Was spoiled last year by the Red Arrows showing up late and messing up the timings so it wsa cut short. Brilliant to see so many together in one go!
Not long got back to the West Midlands from the show today. Fantastic airshow and never seen so many Hurricanes in one place (i'm a Hurri man). Hope to see more videos soon.
Wonderful! I miss my Airshows since moving to Cyprus 20 years ago! Although some interesting stuff low over the house with the current situation in the region!
Superb! It seems bizarre to see the Messerschmitt taxiing along under all those Spitfires and Hurricanes! 3:30 That Hurricane appears to be a two-seater.
I am from Uruguay. Never saw a Spitfire, except the one at the IWM in 2015, which is hanging from the ceiling above visitors. Thanks for the fine video. Spits' landing speed pretty high -perhaps 100 knotts?
I've just filmed that as well (Sunday) but not the blue skies you had. My new pro camcorder ran out of SD card memory, so only got them all taking off. Had to finish off on my phone, so no chance the video will be as good as yours 😢
There's a news report that the BBMF PM631 ( Griffon ) has been cleared for air displays but says Merlin powered Spitfires are still grounded, however this video shows multiple Spits and Hurricanes flying. What's the situation?
Oh dear the super greens will be pooping their pants with all that CO2 from those smokey old petrol engines. I just give thanks to the sacrifice millions made to ensure our freedom all those years ago. Let's hope we never lose that freedom.
The difference between a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine & a Griffon engine is that the Griffon engine has a more deep thobbing exhaust note to it, is more powerful than the Merlin engine & the majority of Griffon engined Spitfires had 5 bladed propellers fitted whereas the Merlin engined Spitfires had 2 bladed to 4 bladed propellers fitted. I hope this has been helpful to you. Obviously the Merlin engine does sound good but the Griffon engine in my opinion sounds better but others on here may dispute this.
The Big Wing was 60 spitfires which took time to marshal this a full squadron . The big wing must have been a big shock to the Germans when they got near to London after being attacked from the channel coast onwards by 10 group
Terrifying sight for the Luftwaffe….Their high command completely underestimated Fighter Command and Trafford’s brilliance was perfectly timed and when led by Douglas they had no chance…
Never let an American say that if it hadn't been for them we'd all be speaking German... (Except the occasional brave American pilot who came to fly in the RAF)
And just think, what was going threw the minds of the luftwaffe pilots seeing all those spits and hurricanes coming at you,"OH SHITE I'm kaput was probably it.😅😅😅😅😅

Yank here. So envious to see this! 15 iconic Hurricane and Spitfires filling the sky over Duxford. Magnificent!

Puts a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye watching these magnificent planes...

my God that brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for posting.
In 1995 for my 50th Birthday, I was P2 in "The Grace Spitfire", ML407 a TWO seater aircraft for 30 minutes at the controls. !!!
Wow the hum, the buzz the brrrrr of the engines, I can only imagine hearing this in the 40's and thinking these guys are our lifeline and ultimately they were. Thanks for keeping them flying.
Sat here with the biggest daftest grin on my face, absolutely beautiful.

Superb ! Amazed to see we have so many air worthy spitfires!
Thank you so much Bob. Excellent footage as usual. Made me feel like I was there. I live in Texas. This was a wonderful treat.
Fantastic! Wish I could have been there. Thanks for the video clip.
Beautiful, awesome, incredible. I love it.

We should all be more patriotic about this country
Something that has disappeared over the years of successive governments

I agree, I'm a hurri-man too. Much prefer it to the Spitfire, it has more character.
Was there yesterday. Absolutely brilliant. Definitely going again next year!
It's an overused term, but simply awesome.
omg what a sight !!! i miss Duxford
Wow, wonderful and awe inspiring.
What a marvelous sight. Proud to be a Brit.
I enjoyed that, thank you.
Gorgeous sound. Great with headphones on. Slightly more ominous sounding when altogether.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I seem to have some dust in my eyes.
ha ha me too
Brilliant, jet noise may be the sound of freedom now but this music was the sound of freedom in 1940. Lest we forget.
Beautiful sentiment,God bless all the families from the forties who were part of the War effort.
Wonderful! I miss my Airshows since moving to Cyprus 20 years ago! Although some interesting stuff low over the house with the current situation in the region!
I was there it was awesome
Marvellous, I didn't know there was a squadron of Spitfires left or the pilots to fly them.
wow truly a wonderful sight 10/10
Love the content keep it up!
Saturday was absolutely perfect!
Marvelous sight ♥ and sound 🎶 👌
Wonderful sight and sound!
This brings a tia to a glass eye wonderfull 👏👏👏🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Rolls Royce rules the sky!
I was there on Sunday, bloody beautiful
Great to have been there.
It was beautiful being there!
Fanbloodytastic!👍🏻
That Super Marine stands out.
Great video. 😃 AND THANKS FOR NOT inserting any irritating, loud, cheesy background music.
Sadly unable to make it this year..😢 Thanks for posting this, which really helped with my withdrawal symptoms!
Next year! 😊
Magnificent
Well put 👍
The sound of one Merlin engine is music, fifteen is a concert!
Thanks for this, used to love going to this show, alas can no longer afford to go it just got too expensive.
Highly emotive .......to think what they stand for in a sunny September sky and that grim struggle for freedom so many years ago.....
This is a whole squadron! 😲
Fantastic Duxford
I was there fantastic day.
Superb! It seems bizarre to see the Messerschmitt taxiing along under all those Spitfires and Hurricanes! 3:30 That Hurricane appears to be a two-seater.

Fabulouse....just a shame we lost the Spitfire and pilot a few months ago.
What a sight.
That there is the sound of freedom.
really good
A Beautiful sight
Trafford Leigh-Mallory was very keen to mobilise the ‘big wing’ led by Douglas Bader in the closing stages of the Battle of Britain.
Brilliant, 3 H below and the S above !
I think I would be in tears if I had seen this in person 😂
cant bellieve i went here this year
to see this
I've just filmed that as well (Sunday) but not the blue skies you had.

Sadly i left/i think missed it? before that display happened i wish i saw this such a beutiful sight
The sound is way more crazy with headphones on
Wow history flying
What a great event, I'm taking my dog next year
Very neck tingles moment
Will visit july 25.
Don’t remember seeing this on the Saturday……
Oh dear the super greens will be pooping their pants with all that CO2 from those smokey old petrol engines. I just give thanks to the sacrifice millions made to ensure our freedom all those years ago. Let's hope we never lose that freedom.
Hurricanes & Spits
Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in the sound of a Griffon and a Merlin engine please?
Oh yes!
@@matthewvwuk Thank you very much for taking the time to reply and explain the above. I appreciate your input.
@@14rnr you are most welcome. All the best to you.
@@matthewvwuk Thank you Sir.

And it didn't work did it....
Imagine D day or the crossing of the Rhine 100,s of fighters
Terrifying sight for the Luftwaffe….Their high command completely underestimated Fighter Command and Trafford’s brilliance was perfectly timed and when led by Douglas they had no chance…
The Rolls Royce Merlin Engine won WW 2
I doubt if the current Labour government have ever heard of the Battle of Britain nor even have any idea what a Spitfire and Hurricane is…
💪💪💪👌👌
wow
Is this plane that a famous spitfire? 🤔
If I ask Santa for one how good do I have to be ?
probably the last ever air shows, few will be able/afford to travel any distance to attend, It`s a shame but inevitable.
Celebrating a war that should never have happened for the fools that will die in the next war
Well that silences the media who reckoned warbird flights would stop after the tragic crash of MK356 in May
They don't make'um like that anymore 😊
Eine grosse Schpitfeuer - Staffel! Sehr genügend.
very cool . not a single , mosquito present , glad we have four in the US now that are flyable , get it together Britten

I feel emotional
