I’ve watched a shit load of hvac RUclipsrs and your videos are the best by far!
Sincerely, hvac tech with only 20 years under my belt.
@@July4.1776 Thanks HVAC brother! 🤜🤛👍👍
It's annoying how he works it all out so easily, I would have spent the first hour crying and saying you need to get the installers back
@stevenpollock6342 Rick doesn't mess around, he's a good friend of mine and he has always been VERY particular when it comes to making things right the first time.
Hes great to watch how he thinks and just sorts it
reminds me of my mentor nothing fazes them unfortunately I'm not wired the same so watching a real professional at work is so interesting. I should make a video so he could moan at all the things I did wrong 😅
I have worked on and with a lot of Belimo Zip economizers.....they are probably the best out there in my opinion. You set the zip code and it'll set the economizer, enthaply etc etc based on your climate zone. So it gets specific. You can also make slight corrections to tweek it. If you ever take a sensor out, it'll recognize that and not look for it and not show it's readings. It really is the most plug and play out there
I liked it when I was done making love to it. 🤣
@@HVACRSurvival did you have to have "cuddle time" as well. 😆
1:54 "splish splash, I was taking a bath... along about a saturday night" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have been watching your channel since early 2022. HVACR videos since 2021. You both have your own unique styles to your videos. I never miss a video from either one of you. I can't thank you both enough for what you do!! Obviously nobody is perfect. But you and Chris are tremendous assets to the hvacr trade! My apologies if I got a little too fanboy here. I just felt you deserve to know how much you're appreciated. ✌🏻✌🏻
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate that, I just forwarded a screenshot over to Chris.
We need a section video called Ricks Rants! Havent ran across the Belino's yet but i am sure its coming. Good stuff as always Rick.
I wish I could go into more details as to why I was so pissed off but my boss and several employees watch these as well.
😂😂😂 they left the shipping tape 😂😂😂 nice prep work 😂
Rick, Great work by a brilliant technician ! I enjoy watching your videos !
Many thanks!
I really appreciate the editing effort in this video. Cheers
I try to keep it moving. Thanks for noticing!
that superior engineering at 4:58 enough said.
Sometimes the basic is difficult to follow rick excellent job
Dude, youre a champion. Gonna start watching your videos again.
Welcome back!
That package unit ductwork is wild 😂
Pay peanuts you get monkeys !
Problem is we pay better than the union companies but people just don’t care. You can’t teach them to care, my feeling is remove the problem because it’s costing more to do it twice.
Surely the building owners have seen it and thought hmmm this doesn’t look very right ?
Start one's day in 2' of water. It doesn't get much better than that. ;-) Chin up; you deliver a ton of value to people everyday. Thanks for continuing to post videos of your work.

Thanks Jay 🤜🤛🤟
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing them. I think it's alot of reassurance to alot techs out there.
@@SeanMackBuffaloStyle only people that do what I do would notice what my specialty is. The normal everyday person wouldn’t notice. Thank you!
Great video. Thank you for sharing
Good job Rick.........
Great job Rick.
Patience of a saint!!! Glad I'm retired!!!
Oh, I don’t know about that. Maybe I’m just wore down. 🤣👍👍
The grind never ends 💪
Good work as always Rick! Those Belimo economizer are solid IMO.
I agree, once I spoke to the tech about my questions to verify what I was thinking how they worked. I believe they are a lot easier to use and program than the Siemens junk ass controller.
Hey, do you ever get a chance to work on any commercial daikin ? I’m installing them and they seem to be pretty solid units 👍 love from Missouri 🤟
We have some Daikin commercial units at some of the schools. I don’t have a lot of experience with them so they’re a little bit of a learning curve on the newer technology.
FYI, if you order a new Cambridgeport factory Belimo actuator, they do not feature the same bolt openings, so it has to be re-engineered
Are you talking about the four screws that held it on? If so, that wouldn’t surprise me it seems like that was gonna be a week design.
there sure is a lot of discoloration on the top of that condenser coil, is there a leak on that coil already?
I’ve seen that on several different air conditioners. I think it’s the oil they use when they’re manufacturing it. Shits made in Mexico now. What can you say🤔
Typical new install! It pisses me off to get a weekend call, to find the install guys didn't do their job like they were supposed to!
We do it nice cause we do it twice. Can't believe you have to finish the install correctly. Your complaints are more than justified. That can't be fun to read that manual in that wind while trying to concentrate. I hope your boss knows and appreciates how good and thorough you are. I appreciate my guys and I give them bonus money every month. They do zero selling or up selling. Sometimes they get annoyed with me because I actually turn jobs down.
@@scotts4125 he watches my videos and uses them sometimes in the apprenticeship program. That’s why I can’t say as much much as I wanted to say.
The person only had one job connect wires the right way Wow, that’s crazy.
@@QsTechService1 I feel ya🤷🤦
not to mention the preschool book with the pictures on how to do it literally sitting on top of the wires you hooked up wrong
@@derbsmcbergs Right lol
Wonder why they don’t use alignment tabs on those plugs, so it’s physically impossible to plug them in the wrong way.
@@bassman34516 three different manufacturers are making a economizer for these carriers. The main plug is the factory one, the one that was incorrectly plugged in was the plug provided by the outside manufacture. All the economizer companies could do is put a sticker on the plug. The factory won’t change there’s because it only fits one way when it’s installed as originally designed.
Hey rick the book from the carrier unit you reference for the economizer whats the model or name on it i would l like to read up on it .thanks and great troubleshooting as always
Are you talking about the install manual that I read through on the video?
@@HVACRSurvival yes seems to be a good read.
@@sdsd4284 it was well laid out
Your worth your wages plus more.
@@terryh8421 they take good care of me money wise. I just wish they would listen to what I’ve said about these kinds of calls.
Great video, nice work 👍
Thank you! 👍
I would say I am shocked at how stupid that installer was, but at this point people just don't surprise me any more...
They could somehow FORCE you to read that entire booklet and someone would manage to break it anyways...
I don’t mind the installers, not knowing, but the problem is that was started by a service guy that said it all worked when he was done.
@@HVACRSurvival Yeah, the old it ran when I parked it routine......🤣🤣
I installing a few carriers, think i not plugging in economizers till 1 year when my warranty is out lol
They are easier than the Siemens. Just read the directions once through. I pointed out the most common issues you’ll have.
Nowadays if a system is up to two years old I start "fail finding" instead of fault finding. Saves a lot of time if you assume it never worked from the beginning. I suspect you are on the same page 🤣
Checked heat and relief dampers.
You sure about that?
Absolutely no experience with the new economizer controls but definitely like how that Belimo control looked and operated.
Had a customer buy a used walk in freezer had us hook everything up but whoever unhooked it sawzalled the Lineset, blew everything out I could but a week later found a shaving stuck in the TXV that had no screen. Needless to say it got a new TXV with a removable strainer.
@@oscalerup1129 all you can do is document everything so they can’t wiggle out of paying.
That's it, I quit. It's time for social security. 👍
I hear you! 🎉
Always save jumper
❄️👍💪🇺🇸 nice work
New carrier economizers are absolute trash, at least guy left the bypass plug. The first thing i would have did is unplug economizer at module, and economizer and plug in bypass plugs, see yea, call installer and have him deal with economizer issue.
The problem is that wasn’t an installer that started it. But I can’t say that in the video. Our shop it’s OK with the Installer not to knowing but not a service guy who put hours down on this job and then I had to go back out and do it again. That’s what pissed me off and that’s why I was such an ass about it.
😂
@@HVACGUY I was hoping you’d get that🤣👍👍
Damn those installers or factory assembly must have failed kindergarten! Can't match colors
wow, your install crew sucks. You guys should drag them out to new install callbacks to show this bullsh!t
Actually, we’ve got some really good installers. But you’re always gonna have one or two that doesn’t really go the extra mile. I don’t mind mentioning it in the comments, but I couldn’t mention it on the video. A service guy started this and said he had it running that’s what’s bullshit.
@@HVACRSurvival damn... That must be frustrating
@@joeyf504327 yep and there’s not much I can say about it on video

sCArrier, scaring/forcing techs into doing installs/repairs which take multiple hours each call again.. yeah yeah.
Carrier go back to JADE!
Carrier is CRAP!!!
It’s starting to look like that lately
1/16th to 1/32nd of an inch. that is old school machinist/finish wood worker cruft. that said, I have done both in the past. it's hard and time consuming, cheap tools to billion dollar tools.
unless the same tools and machines have existed for many years and you've used them for many years. game is over, everythig now will all be pre-beta trash, multi-alpha level junk.
not knocking anyone i particular nor pointing fingers well maybe my middle fimngers ( in unison). 💩
so, you spent anywhere from 4 to 999 hours on that garbage. yeah, facts of current trash equipment. nothing you did or are doing. garbage is garbage. can we go back to the wild abnd crazy 1970's random installed junk, that actuakky worked and lasted for 30+ years? with self installed linsets(lol) yeah of course they don't want to. and craftsman tools with "lifetime warranty" whose lifetime? I have had a hard time getting NEW tools I was gited and bouth in the 1990's as of 5 years ago, to more current. (lowes), they did finally exchange the four screwdrivers.
enough, may as well buy and thriw away trash, if I have to battle with them. I quit ranting now and fully understand you 🤠
