This is also what happens when a business owner doesn't budget for proper maintenance or replacement units knowing full well they're beating on 15 year old equipment 😂
You should get into pharmaceutical HVAC, some of it's maintenance, ac units, chillers, old / modern ahus, balancing cleanrooms, labs, some c+q, some design consultation, some qualification work on lab stuff, gloveboxes, msc's and whatnot. I'm quite like you, I get bored easily. There's enough variety in what I do to not get bored, so far anyway. Got bored with architecture, got bored of being broke being a barista, pro or otherwise there's no money in it, but this so far is interesting. There'd be less electronics involved which I would like more of but so far Im happy. 6 years in it's the longest career I've had so far.
I worked on this exact same style of model yesterday. Almost the same issue with only lighting across the first few burners and stopping. Mine ended up having a capacitor directly above them pop and leak it's gel all over the center couple burners and the gel blocked off the burners. Lol
I work on tons of those lennox units. I keep a box cutter knife with me as they work great to clear the cross over fins and allow the gas to run all the way to the last burner. Good call on the ignition module. Those old blue boxes are junk. And on the note of the testo manometer, I had a terrible time with my drifting off to infinity. Had to return it. Still have the old UEI EM152. It seems to just keep on going.
Gotta love Lennox. Code 58 and 59 are the most useless codes haha. The newest Lennox package unit I installed in November this past year have one solid piece for a burner they are not individual which makes it hard to get out
Not only did they mess up the shut off valve location but that drip leg is ineffective. They should’ve put it in place of the elbow at the change of direction.
It's good to get a proper call out. Whole world needs to be more commercial/communal whole street networks rather than domestic. More efficient and less engineers required.
If you ever come across a York Gas Pack with a Source 1 Board. Please make a video of it. I have one I need to go back too this week. Board needs to be programed/Re. Won't send htg Seq to ignition board. Stuck on fan only.
I work on these every day. Or at least every day that I do commercial stuff. Everything else is weird to me, especially trane. Edit: sorry u have to order all those parts we have a warehouse full of Lennox shit 😅
Hi Rick, Is it possible somehow to share your favorite apps you are having on your phone since i know you are having some good stuff. To be clear, work apps. Thank you
Natural gas will make the copper plate and flake then that gets in the gas valve and can causes a potential catastrophic failure. Copper can only use on liquid propane.
This is very interesting as we pretty much only use copper for commercial gas - high rise installs may be 6” + and it’s pretty common on old residential installs with no issues - these have mostly moved to multilayer pex.
This is exactly what happens when the customer's idea of "maintenance" is call the tech, preferably on the weekend once the unit falls apart.
Bingo
This has been the story of my life. Most accurate statement.
It is a great way to start the weekend lol

Weekends, nights, holidays, or at 4:55 PM on a Friday 😞
Gotta love the no heat calls when the wind chill is -30*f with snow and you’re on a flat roof. Love the content, makes for a great end to a bad day.

We do work for one Pham laboratory, they have all kinds of stuff to work on.
Here in Missouri we use black pipe for gas hook ups
I worked on a state job where everything was worn out and then folks get mad at you since it is not 65 when it is 95 outside in the shade.
Go figure right 🤦👍👍
Thanks, man.
I always recommend replacing all that stuff because what’s the point of leaving it there . Then they call back that it’s not workkng
Bingo 👍👍
Nice professional troubleshooting and repair.
Thank you I appreciate the view and feedback!
Very professional, nice to see.
Thank you very much!

Lucky you 🤣👍

Super helpful. Thanks for posting.
You're welcome!
The hanging strap for fluke is called TPAK but there are generic ones that work as well
Correct, I’ve got a genuine one and a fake one. Only differences the Velcro isn’t as nice.
@@HVACRSurvival good to know I bought the fluke one as well works well so far
Great Job 🌴🤙🌴🏴☠️

Great job Rick stay warm.

Rick, thanks for the great video !

I thought I left it in the video but I said they let anybody that has a crown set install these
Great Video. Thank you for sharing
Nice, trap on the run of the gas line.

Lol big old aluminum main shutoff valve gotta be older then the unit

Great job Rick.
Had a TikTok guy telling me that flame sensors should be changed every time you pull it instead of cleaning them. 😂
It’s on the Internet it must be true🥱🤣
holy shit rickey that was bad ass brother freakin loved this one buddy!!!!!!!!
Thanks. IT took several hours.
You polished that turd quite nicely and shiny 👍

Great video as always!
Glad you enjoyed!

You should change that motor it's had the bisciut 😊😊😊
nice work,thanks for the info.
Glad to help👍👍. Thanks for watching
What was the app you had showed for checking pulley size. Good work as always.
It’s called measure. For ios
What app were you using measuring that pulley ?
Apple had it on my phone I just got
@HVACRSurvival ahhh im not an iPhone person just a lowly android user haha
Yeah, I wasn’t before either but I finally switched probably about three months ago
Great video Rick!
Thank you! 🙏

Good work.
Thank you!
Cool video, be careful doing those repairs😅😊
Thanks! Will do!
Good stuff Rick. What was that guy thinking putting the shut off after the union?
I don’t think they were😂
What is the reasoning behind not using copper for gas in the USA? Is it some protectionist policy to give steel workers jobs?

Good job buddy one tech to another huah
Thanks Mr Adam!
Hey Big Fan here ! Quick question, how's the MB5B treating you? How you like it? You should do a review video of it
I like it. It’s getting dirty unfortunately but it’s been better than the Mc back pack
Nice video brother!
Thanks for watching
Posi Lock pullers are great. I have the 104 and the 106. They are not cheap but they are worth it.
Nothing like doing a crappy job and then literally getting crapped on 😂
Word 🤜🤛✌️
I wish I had your problem of getting pretty boring!
I don’t have that here. Look at all the crazy stuff I work on.
